Bass Sense of Smell?????
I dip and have gotten used to washing off my hands after touching tobacco, i've just always believed it affected the bait, that and bugspray i find is a huge repellant to fish, who knows, i've also heard it's good to spray WD-40 on your baits, I haven't tried it because i think it's stupid but who really knows and wants to waist precious fishing time testing it out when you could be slayin' 'em

Trick Worm?
sleeves 8-) just messin' around since this is the joke thread, trick worm... put one on and toss it in you'll see why it's called that, it's the first word that comes to mind when you watch it's action, tricky!

I never really fish a proper Carolina rig
good advice flechero do you find it neccessary to C-rig with strictly floating/suspending plastics or do you like when your lizard or worm etc. lays on the bottom and drags behind the weight?

I never really fish a proper Carolina rig

I never really fish a proper Carolina rig
my jerry rig way of fishing a carolina rig is simply going from texas rig to moving the bullet weight up my line and pegging it there. Sometimes I'll use a bead for noise or leave the bullet weight free and put a split shot under it to hold it in place and get some clacking noise. How do you feel about this, what is the difference really? Does anyone else cheat like me?

Best way to rig with Tube hook
hey msberry you should look into the mizmo tube, it's the best i've used in has a pointed weight the dangles on the shank that you shove through the tube into the middle of it, it's awesome... http://www.mizmo.com/rigginginsider.html

Question on Texas rigs?
since we're on the topic, i've been hearing that the new thing is to NOT peg your bullet weight and let in slide free, I now do both and have about equal amount of luck both ways... :-/ comment...

The phenomenon of baits that use to slay 'em..
this should be a fun topic... I don't know what it is or how it happens, but share your stories of baits that used to SLAY'em but not so much anymore... about 2-3 years ago, I couldn't stop catching fish on a rainbow trout colored Bass Assassin that my dad turned me on to, it was a year round bait for me. Now-a-days I'll get hits on everything but... I just don't understand it, I gave up on the bait last year and primarily used tiki sticks and senkos, but I will attempt bringing it back this year as it is IMO the best soft plastic ever and very versatile... what's yours? were you ever a fan of the Bass Assassin? If I remeber correctly they always swam better with the 5/O sharp straight offset shank hooks as opposed to the XPS or the Gamakatsu hook offset hooks with wide gaps... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=30191&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults I also used to religously use the Berkley Powerbait Original powerworm 7" 'Blue Fleck' but the one with the Bullet shape soft plastic head on it under a Texas-rig, rember those? I can't find them anymore, I can only find the ones like this in the picture without the bullet shaped soft plastic head. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_38256_100007001_100000000_100007000_100-7-1 Then that stopped working and that's when I swore on the Bass Assassin as a go-to.

need some help remembering a bait
YEARS back I was fishing with my dad and was using this tube like bait that was designed to shoot into rocks and under cover as soon as it hit the water, it was really cool and fun to use, I was young so don't remember much about it... any ideas what it was? if so can you provide a link or picture with your description or idea? thanks guys! -Trevor

I am always timid to throw white baits
please provide some advice ansd scenarios you go by that call for white baits and lures, it's always my last choice, and when my buddy tells me he's killing them on white senko's, I typically won't use white unless it's got other colors mixed in fishing shaded to sunny water....

The BEST pair of Sunglasses!
Polarized lens' cut out the glare cause by the sun, this helps you to see into the water to observe, fish, beds, structure, depth of water, sometimes depth of fish and their cruising paterns, etc. very helpful during -but not limited to- pre-spawn, spawn and post-spawn seasons. If you wear a pair once fishing you won't go without again...

The BEST pair of Sunglasses!
I've definately compared them to many other pair, some being worn by other fishermen I've run into, you just can't beat them in my opinion, especially consider how inexpensive they are which is why they aren't very durable but they work very well better than any other pair I've seen. Just wanted to throw out my advice for the wallet concious man 8-)

The BEST pair of Sunglasses!
Hey guys I'm new to the boards and want to contribute some advice and receive some as well. There are no topics up right now that jump out at me so I thought I'd make one and share with you all what I've found to be the absolute best easily affordable polarized sunglasses for fishing, I bought about five more pair after a year of using them for Bass and Trout fishing, I first found them at a fishing show in Richmond, VA. These things are like X-ray vision, I've never found a pair that cuts through the glare and even stained water sooo well. A perfect setting to set to demonstrate how awesome these things are is to find a fast moving stream or river where the sun is shining and you can't see the bottom due to glare and coloration, put the glasses on and you'll see every pebble. Do yourself a favor and spend the 18 bucks, you might even want to buy two if you do alot of wading and jumping from rocks and such as they aren't the most durable made things ever but man it's all about the lens'. Here they are. Woo Daves special. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=58981&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
