  1. lol, I know it's correct :-? I've been fishing Quantico waters since my dad had to carry me through thick grass, I was advising you guys. I wish Dalton's Pond was still easily accesible. I bet it's awesome now. Good luck! 8-)
  2. Let me help you clarify it's $10 for a Quantico base permit which covers HUNTING AND FISHING ANYWHERE on the base, it's not just for fishing the lakes.
  3. It's a Quantcio Base permit so it covers any water on Quantico hunting and fishing, I'll warn you that ALL of them are hard to get to now-a-days and ALL of them come equipped with every bit of wildlife you'd encounter in VA. They're tough to fish from the banks especially in spring and summer, LOT'S of trees. If you're not going from a boat don't waste your time, IMO. oh you'll find some hawgs, literally, not fish either.
  4. I've fished it many of times, not recently though, probably haven't been there in 3 years or so... don't know about walleye but they have pike. Never caught anything huge, it's pretty deep i think at some points and has nice drop off's. You do need a Quantico base permit, they cost 10-12 bucks and is good for a year from date of purchase. They rent boats there and I've never done great from the shore in my opinion you need to take a boat or rent one and go back in the coves. I kind of forgot about this place and may have to re-visit it. A lot of places on Quantico are hard to get to now-a-days after 9-11 they've closed a lot of entrances, i think all but 1. You're going to have to go quite a round about way of getting there, you should research it or call otheriwse you'll more than likely run into closed gates that haven't been opened since 9-11.
  5. I meant rain scatters fish... don't forget about the devils horse just chillin' above their heads, they hate that when they're on those beds
  6. I think mid-May is a stretch, I feel like they'll be back cruising the shallows and bedding again after 2-3 days of sunny skies and no rain. Although I'm sure some are scattered now as not all fish spawn at the same time, I'd think the ones that were close to spawning are holding close to where they were. I guess the only way to truely know is to plop a black and blue tube in there 8-) Not a sermon, just a thought.
  7. so the water has been low up until this latest monsoon, I was starting to see bedding bass, how will the high and very dirty water levels affect the bedding bass, will they hold true if they haven't reached full spawn yet? I've never seen that water as high as it is at my lake, my boat is half submerged, beds that were in a foot of water are now in 3-5 feet of water in some places.
  8. I knew you would, just sharing my two cents since it didn't work for me until 10:40 at night. 8-)
  9. JCrzy4Bass with all this rain I'm certain the water temp has changed and is probably a little cooler than it was after those 80 degree days, but it looks like it should be getting warmer by wednesday, I threw topwater this weekend in the morning and didn't have a single hit and this was after those 80 degree days my point is that right now topwater doesnt appear to be working until the evening bite after the water has a chance to heat up a little during the day. Give it a whirl but not too much time when you could be catching fish on something else.
  10. THERE IS FISH IN LAKE BRADDOCK!!! Well I went out this morning with my dad on the boat and saw Rob on the bank sight fishin' as MANY fish were on the beds, i went without a fish ALL morning, Rob caught 7 on a senko as he could see them from the bank angle and we couldn't form the boat. My dad was skuned as well. After I came in a took a nap I headed back out for about 30 minutes with the roommate to pitch the beds and yet again no production. Well ladies and gentlemen I usually don't brag and talk about mediocre and smaller fish but i was just out under the full moon between 10:50 and 11:40 and MURDERED them, i caught 7 and missed about as much on a black buzzbait, about 3 keepers one close to 3 LBs. like i said Size wise it's nothing to brag about but i had a blast by myself in the dark with a buzzbait and a buzz ;D 7 in 40mins doesn't seem to common on this lake so i'm a little stoked, sorry if this piost is redundant remember i mentioned the word buzz in two fashions. well goodnight and good luck at Mercer tomorrow fellas and ladies. P.S. I missed a BIG smack as he didn't take it jsut smacked the S out of it and never came back.
  11. nevermind my friend is a PWC cop and I found out it has a pad locked gate and signs everywhere and people have been arrested for trespassing there. NOT FOR ME!
  12. just out of curiosity what lake are you talking about, never heard of silver lake, what road is it on, I know gainesville very well.
  13. Be that as it may, I don't do snakes. At all, and the thought of them near me when my attention is on fishing really distracts me from fishing.
  14. Well it's been a terrible year fishing for me - production wise that is, nothing beats being out fishing in general- and last night was no better, I thought I knew what I was doing but these fish in this area either don't eat ever when I'm out or I'm just terrible. Oh by the way our trip ended with the worst backlash of all time for me when matt was standing behind me fishing and I went to sidearm cast and caught his line, now my curado is completely full of birds-nested line, ugh... it also didn't help that I was completely paranoid of the two snakes we saw, the whole time, I kept looking over my shoulder while twitching and crankin'. Note to self ***stop venturing out, just stay on your boat in your backyard where the snakes can't get you*** the report is, I caught one small largemouth on the very first cast of a dark blue senko with lighter blue fleck and the end of the road by the rocks... That's it.
  15. park at wagon trail and walk, no on the SUV, are you coming tonight? everyone coming look for the guy in the red hat, that's me, Trevor
  16. yea i know where it is, i'm just waiting on the guys who've been fishing there to confirm where they've been catchin' fish. We'll meet at the swimming pool again around 6ish, i'll call ya.
  17. pkschul? chai? okrod? soccaplya? who's in guys? I'll be there by the stumps with uglystik...
  18. Here's Mercer, where are these fish being caught? by the stumps?
  19. Braddock was a little more stainded the other night, near the bank is still very clear. The bass are very stubborn there right now, I don't know what's going on. I thought I knew what I was doing but they're not hitting anything, I haven't seen a lot of beds but I've seen some cleared out spots sparatically on the banks, I don't think there in that phase yet probably around the 20th when we have the full moon. They're definately still cruising and chillin' very close to the bank but slowly swim off when you approach, but they're not sitting on any beds just kinda hangin' out near the bank. I've thrown everything from cranks and spinnerbaits to wacky senkos and jigs and tubes. At different speeds with variable presentations from each lure. They just aren't biting or getting ticked off. I'll probably try mercer this evening even though i'd much rather be on my boat. I just need some confidence restored.
  20. this is very helpful for finding trout streams in VA http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/trout/maps.asp I PM'ed ado124, I'm not that much of a jerk
  21. I need to get out there but I just can't get past not going on a boat.
  22. Wouldn't you like to know :-?
  23. Well Nitro, I'd like to schedule an outing with you, if that's possible. I've fished Crockett, and have never had sucess like that, I'd like to get with you and see how YOU fish it, and where. I'm assuming by your name you go by way of boat, yes?
  24. one brook, two rainbows, and 3 hybrids between rainbows and brooks, they look like rainbows but don't have scales like rainbow the have slime like brooks... kinda wierd i guess it's what happens at the hatchery... yes here in NOVA...
  25. got out on braddock this evening on the boat, didn't meet Chai till the last 45 minutes or so because i botched his cell number... he said he got 4 earlier in the day on a jig, i managed 2 that were about 2lbs, didn't take pics cause that's comical... no sweat on the guys that didn't make it we'll meet up sometime soon.
