  1. Spinnerbait... Sometimes. Jig.... always!
  2. I'm a dragger, but throw in a hop every now and then when fishing hard bottom. I will usually swim weedy shorelines or pitch and let drop holes in the weeds.
  3. A couple of my favorite ponds are starting to become littered with cigarette butts. All the same brand. I don't ever see anyone else out when I go, which is during the week. Those things don't decompose so easy and they float. I don't mind if someone is a smoker, just don't throw your butts on the ground.
  4. Today was dink day, did get this semi-dink!
  5. Looks like a really nice place to relax. The docks look good. They make me want to get my gear! Fishing at work is a solid plus!
  6. Sorry, I assumed it was still cold there. I work graveyard also, works for fishing!
  7. That 30mph "Breeze" looks chilly! The fish didn't seem to mind! Nice fish!
  8. I use lipless cranks year round. Try it, rip em fast to start with then try different retrieves. You'll be cleaning your hooks a lot, but the grass is more than likely holding fish if it's the only " structure" in the pond. I don't ever leave any technic or lure off the table unless it doesn't work when I give it an honest try. Fish don't have to be super active for a reaction strike.
  9. +1 this .. A big body of water takes a lot more than overnight to warm or cool
  10. Delta craw Red eyed shad and Red craw Ratl-Trap working today. 6 fish, nothing big. Did get 2 on yellow and black spinner bait. 80degrees here.
  11. Great job! It's nice to tear something down and build it back up, you learn a lot about what you have.
  12. I'm in N.C. too, try fishing some other baits like lipless or square bill cranks. I have had a ton of luck with a Ratl-Trap fished fast using my rod tip to control the depth. Just rip it through any weed beds you find . With a bigger(1/2 oz) lure you can weed out some of the small dinks. Sometimes with the bigger fish you have to pi** them off to get them to strike, a fast retrieved crank or spinner bait can do that.
  13. Welcome aboard.
  14. If I catch one on my "Last cast" I can't help myself, I have to throw 20 or 30 more! ?
  15. I never get tired of looking at the pictures of those big smalls! Haven't fished for them in 26 years since I moved to N.C.
  16. Holy moly! When I think of trout (other than Lake Trout) I always think of a little fragile fish in a small net!
  17. That big fish has probably been caught a bunch of times when it was a small fish and has seen every presentation known to man! Hard to get that critter. I think sometimes those fish have a knack for finding hiding spots that are hard to fish.
  18. I find it harder to travel with more than 1rod than a backpack with tackle, you have to keep putting down and picking up. I try to take two sometimes, that way I always have a jig handy. ?
  19. He looks like he's a happy camper ? who wouldn't be... Nice fish!
  20. Sig 938 small, light and accurate.
  21. If you want to keep it real simple, leave your bag at the house by accident... All you have is what's tied on your rods! Been there...Done that!
  22. Smokey Joe Ratl-Trap.
  23. I use them both, I dip the tails in chartreuse or red sometimes. Clear water on the shallow side (3-5ft) is where they seem to be effective for me.
