  1. So you’d recommend that model for bottom contact?
  2. With TW having them on sale I considered grabbing it as my all around MH rod. I use 1/4 oz t-rigs, 3/8 oz pitching jigs, 1/2 oz finesse football jigs, and the occasional chatter, spinner, and underspin. Reading TW they claim it has a fast action but Shimano's site says its actually a Mod Fast. I'm inclined to believe Shimano's site due to finding my own discrepancies other site's have had in the past. That being said watching PunchFishing's channel he seems to think its definitely a true fast action. The mod-fast worries me dealing with sing hook application but I figured the best advice to get would be from people who have used them. Thank you for any input.
  3. An old topic I know but how do you still like that specific model? I pulled the trigger on one for DS, Ned, and finesse swimbaits with a low end of 1/8 oz and high end of 1/4 oz. Do you think it'll be good for that?
  4. Reading through reviews some people think the B models are stouter than rated. ML being a M and L being a ML. I’m wanting a rod for throwing open hook DS with 1/4 oz weight max, 1/8-3/16 oz Ned, and a 1/8 oz finesse swimbait with a 2.8in Keitech. Anyone with the Expride B spinning rods think say the Expride 7’0 L would be more akin to other brands ML?
  5. I’m gonna be honest. I’m not entirely sure what that means. Is 3M Nono Resin good?
  6. Ok that’s actually the exact models of both rods I was looking at. Good deal. I know the Zodias are pretty well reviewed but couldn’t find hardly anything on the Abu. For the price and for the weights I said I’d be using do you have any other recommendations?
  7. Right on those sound awesome. I haven't had an Abu rod in years. I was going to go with the Zodias 7' ML for regular price but saw that I could get a potentially higher quality rod for less. I've not really been able to find reviews on the X though besides one guy on TW complaining how it fell apart. I tend to disregard those reviews unless it seems to be a common issue.
  8. Looking at getting a drop shot/ned rig rod and was looking at the Fantasista X. I have the opportunity to get one for under $200 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Curious specifically about sensitivity, which I know is considered subjective, and how true to power they are. I'll be throwing 1/4 - 3/16 ox pencil weights plus plastics and 1/8 - 3/16oz ned heads.
  9. Very nice. The only thing I don't like about them is if a fish was too aggressive it would rip the hooks out and if you didn't realign them perfectly it wouldn't work right.
  10. They're supposed to corkscrew in the water. Like someone else said attach to them with a small good quality snap swivel. I fished these for most of my life until I got into baitcasters and really started down the rabbit hole of what fishing had to offer. I still throw them at local ponds. We always used the purple worm with white dots.
  11. Haven’t seen the American Shad but was thinking of grabbing a clown. You don’t think the size of the regular 110 is too much?
  12. What’s your color of choice? Also which version do you prefer? 110, 110+1, 110 jr, or 110+1 jr ?
  13. Ya the keeper really got me. They’re already inexpensive and I was gonna buy the blank heads and dress them myself to save a little bit more money.
  14. 16lb Sunline Sniper Do you think a MH would be fine for fishing them on long casts 15-20 ft deep?
  15. For those that have used them, how would you rate the hooks based on size? Are they more of a stout wire hook or closer to a finesse hook? Would be throwing the 1/2oz on a 7'3 MHF St Croix Victory and want to make sure the weight of the bait plus the strength of the hook isn't too much.
  16. I'm in TN. We got places like Watts Bar where some of the deeper spots a fish may only get to 20ft but we also have Norris where 20 ft off the bank you can be in 50 ft of water.
  17. How do you keep 75’ of rope from being all over the place?
  18. I’m gonna be totally honest. I legit didn’t think of that. The only concern I would have is what is a reasonable length and weight for an anchor for a kayak? I’ve never messed with a scrounger. Do those do good in the winter months?
  19. Is there a DD that doesn’t pull a ton of drag? I’m in a kayak and I tried a 6XD and I swear I think it pulled my kayak to bait instead of the bait to my kayak. Any advice on fishing deeper in the winter in a kayak would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hey good deal I appreciate the info.
  21. I was in a weird situation. I have an ALX Zolo Toadface that I wanted to use as a frog rod but that left me with the Amistad as my jig rod. Typically for jigs I like straight fluorocarbon. However I also needed a rod for punching. In the past I used my frog rod as my punching rod as well. Mind you I'm in a kayak so a lot of my rods have to pull double duty. In the end I decided on braid to leader for my jigs. Cut the leader for punching and the braid helps for the heavier cover.
