  1. I have an AirdX that balances perfectly for me it was just that particular rod I’m sure.
  2. It was incredibly sensitive the main thing was it was super tip heavy paired with a Curado K. I always felt like I was having my baits fight against me if that makes sense.
  3. I had a Tatula 7’3 MHF the full cork model and didn’t much care for it but I know a lot of people love them. Daiwa makes great stuff so I know it’s just me.
  4. Could try a glass rod. With the sale you could grab a Shimano Intenza Glass for around that price. I’ve never personally used the Intenza but I just bought a glass rod for exactly what you’re wanting.
  5. Ok awesome we’ll them I’m torn now between the Garmin Striker Vivid 7sv and the Lowrance Hook 7 Tripleshot
  6. It’ll have to be on TackleWarehouse sadly. I got a bunch of gift cards for there and that’s the only reason I’m shopping for a FF now.
  7. Oh I was just gonna use it to mark spots then put the waypoints in the FF. Would it be ok for that? Can you even do that with the Garmin?
  8. Right on I might go ahead go with the Garmin. I’ve had a striker before so at least there’ll be some familiarity. I’ve also seen some people say to just download the Navionics app.
  9. It says it maps the contour of lakes you go over with it. Does that mean it has some amount of storage? Can you navigate what you’ve previously mapped with the arrow keys to study what you went over?
  10. Can you download maps to the Garmin Striker 7sv? If so that would be great. I don’t fish a bunch of lakes maybe 3 or 4.
  11. Got a budget of $500 for a fish finder. Which of these 2 would be best for a kayak fisherman. The main difference I see besides screen size is that the Garmin doesn’t have a place to put map chips. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  12. 100% this right here. When buying a new a new rod I do exactly what he said. A good example of this is I had a bunch of people praising the St Croix Victory Rods to me. I was gonna blind buy one but a local shop had the exact model I wanted so I took my Curado and paired it up. I found, for me, the handle was too small and it felt a bit too heavy. Those are great rods I’m sure and many people love them but they just weren’t right for me.
  13. My dad is left handed like me but for some reason I adjusted to doing most things right handed including fishing. I need to learn the whole switching hands to cast thing because trying to set the hook backwards on a jig is super awkward. I figured I’d try to learn a left hand reel on something that doesn’t require a hard hook set since I’m already handicapping myself lol
  14. If there had been a 150 Tatula I’d have nabbed it for sure, but I wound up going with the Curado. It’s my first lefty reel so it might be worth at least using something I’m already comfortable with.
  15. Ok thank you!! I wound up ordering the Curado.
  16. Is it better for Chatterbaits? That’s what I’ll be mainly using it for. I’ll switch it over to deep cranking for the winter. And how smooth is the Tatula compared to the Curado?
  17. This is very true. Which do you like more the Tatula or Curado. I have Curados and know I like them, but at the same time thought about trying something new
  18. Right but where it’s larger it take longer circumference for a full rotation. I didn’t know if an extra 10mm made much of a difference.
  19. Ya I think you’re right. If I were to buy a 100mm handle to put on the Curado at a later date how much slower would that make the reel?
  20. Last I looked they’re both basically the same. The Tatula was 6.3 and the Curado was 6.2
  21. Both are the same price on ALF on their used items. The Tatula is in “Excellent” condition and the Curado is in “Very Good.” I like the handle more on the Tatula but I have Curados and know how good they are. I’ll be mainly using it to deep crank and maybe swap it over for chatterbaits around spring. Thoughts?
  22. ALF has their sale on for Dobyns it seems. Any idea what the secret sale is?
  23. What is the discount typically?
  24. Does the Curado 200K have the same gear setup? I have the MGL150 and I’ve loved it so far. Palms better and lightweight. Haven’t caught any over 5 on it yet but if it’s like my Curado 200K that I use for cranking then it should handle it fine.
