  1. Swim senko Zoom trick worm Strike King cutr tail worm Any size worm with a tail that moves will work
  2. It could be something simple or the motor is garbage. Only way to find out is have a mechanic look at it. Diagnostic cost for 2 hours about $250. If you like it and it fits your budget, negotiating with the owner on the repair costs is the best advise you will get. If the owner say no to a mechanic looking at it walk away.
  3. That’s how we fished Erie for perch when I was a kid. Grandpa and dad didn’t have electronics. Granda put a knot in his anchor rope every 2’. For years I thought it was to pull the anchor up. Then one day he came back load with perch and said “they are 6 knots about 12’.”
  4. Weightless swim tail worm with a spinning rod was around before the word finesse came to be. Still works. braid around pads flouro in open water I fish it like a jerk bait mostly
  5. Wow parts of the country really are different. I fish bladed jigs on a medium rod 5.3:1 reel and 14# flouro line. Never did more than a lean to the side for a hook set.
  6. I use the rage tail worm as a trailer, weightless, and Texas rigged. very versatile bait. don’t put it on a bladed jig though, doesn’t work, fish hate it, it’s like a banana in the boat, total jinx, never catch another fish again, you were warned.?
  7. Since the boat was sitting for 2 years. I would start by eliminating the fuel tank as the problem. Buy a cheap plastic tank with a primer bulb and hook it up to the engine. If the engine runs the problem is in the tank fuel lines or bulb. If it still stalls the problem is in the motor. A good service manual will tell you how to test the fuel pump pressure. Replace the fuel filters. Replace the plugs If those check out. My guess would be carbs/injectors are dirty. Sea foam was a good idea. While your looking at the manual look at compression testing. It would also be a good idea. Motors can run on a dead cylinder. They are usually hard to start though.
  8. Ok that my have sounded like I was mad. But I was kidding. Guess I could have worded it better.
  9. Does that make me 4th or 5th to say it? ? I mean if we are going to correct people we should know the exact number? Yes?
  10. Shocked not to see one Tennessee reply yet?
  11. Wind and lightning are the deal breaker. Getting blown away or fried isn’t on my to do list. Rain doesn’t stop me, It’s usually the day I get the lake to myself. Cold fronts happen. They can produce lifetime memories too.
  12. Every lake is different. If I’m struggling, I look for structure with deep water very close by. That way you can move in and out of the water column faster and hopefully key in on the depth they are at.
  13. White vinegar and water 50/50 mix is all I’ve ever used on all my boats. In a spray bottle and use to wipe down at ramp. Tougher stains and trailer wash with CLR and water in a bucket, but rinse thoroughly. Carpet white vinegar and hot hot water in a carpet cleaner. Finish it off with some Slick Mist spray speed wax. Except no wax on the seats. It makes them crack.
  14. Without seeing you boat it’s hard to recommend anything.
  15. When I cracked a battery once, a jumbo large box of baking soda, garden hose, and a scrub brush cleaned up my bilge nicely. I still vacuum out about a Tbsp of baking soda every year, so it’s still scrubbing it clean
  16. kill switch Fuel spark compression Yep I’ve done it. Even left it in gear and spent an hour try to figure out why it won’t start.?
  17. I think the only reason aluminum larger hulls became more popular is price. I went from a 16’ deep v smoker craft to a Triton X18 mod v. The main reason was more deck space and storage. The decks on a lot of aluminum mod v boats are much larger than most fiberglass 18’ boats and some 19’ boats. There is a cost though. They are slower, don’t handle rough water as well, and versatility of options can be limited. If your not a tournament guy every weekend, enjoy fishing, want to carry a tackle store with you, and don’t want to pay as much for a new boat, it’s a good choice.
  18. Florida bass fishing is definitely on the bucket list. I would imagine that bass school up more in shad filled lakes. There are spring and fall periods in the north when they school up too. When the feed bag is on.
  19. It is true for most outboards. Evinrude will not warranty the midsection if you do it. If you do a build on the bps websites they say anchor poles require a jack plate.
  20. Color does not matter according to some? My little inland lakes tell me otherwise. One spring fed lake with crystal clear water proved to me color matters. Match the hatch or the forage and your success rate climbs exponentially. Yes green pumpkin and black/blue will catch them. But Green pumpkin with a swab tip dab of orange dye up front and an Alabama craw with a claw tipped with yellow dye, much better.! Black and blue with a summer craw and a swab tip dab of yellow dye on the belly, hold on.! I killed them one day on a falcon jig and a black craw. the list goes on and on p.s. We never remember slinky do we?
  21. As a general rule (by no means black and white scientific). Adult Largemouth, 3-4 lbs and over, tend to be loners most of the year. They tend to stay in small hunting zones during prime fishing season. Adult Smallmouth, 2-3 lbs and over, tend to be in packs most of the year. They tend to roam more in the pack following the food during prime fishing season. My experience with fishing small mouth is you catch them like crazy or not at all. Your either on them or your not. Large mouth “seem” easier to catch because they tend to be more spread out in the lake. Just my experience in WI.
  22. I still think you have air in your oil lines. But it could be an injector also Dealer could put it on a lap top and tell you if an injector is missing or throwing codes. They can also reprise the oiling system. that would be my starting point. Just blindly throwing parts at it may work or may not. JMO Reprime the oil system
  23. I ran a 55 lb Terrova on my Triton x18. For 7 years. It does the job but struggles in wind and current to last the day. I usually fished on 4 setting, but in harsher days 7-9. I just installed a 82lb 24v MG Tour Pro on the boat today. Haven’t used it yet. It is much heavier and much bigger than the Terrova so top speed will suffer. As I get older fishing has become more important than getting there 5 minutes earlier.
  24. Ram mount with a long arm and too push it away from the windshield? those are tough boats to get big electronics at the console
  25. My guess is you have air bubbles in your oil lines. Dealer can resolve this for an hour of labor, or at least diagnose the issue. 2 Stroke without oil for any amount of time goes kaboom. Get it looked at by a pro.
