Latest Catch Pics Thread
Spent some quality time with the son-in-law today. Had another 10 or so that weren’t picture worthy but fun to catch nonetheless.

Wisconsin Fishing, 2021
Looks like a nice outing to me. Congrats

Is my scale right?
Very nice in any case. But, angle of hang doesn’t change the law of gravity.

Zoom, done?
Agree with all the above. Love my zoom.

Almost new PB and a kicker
Nice.

Ultrex 36v 112 - Battery Run Time
I too fish an electric only lake and my poor little 12v doesn't do well at top speed all day. If I stay at about mid-speed, I can fish all day but at top, I'm lucky to bet 3 hours, depending on the prevailing winds.

First top water bass of the year...
I've caught a few on a Tiny Torpedo. Lost what would have been a PB on a frog.

Favorite H20 express lure from Academy?
I haven't tried any of the H2O baits but I've been tempted. Maybe it's time.

Trying to get back after 40 year Hiatus
Welcome back to the joy of fishing. I took a long hiatus myself after all my rods and tackle was stolen out of the back of my truck just after leaving the service. My kids got me back into it a little over a year ago and I'm wondering now why I ever stopped.

Looking for a worm alternative
I don't know about the scent but, that looks pretty much like a standard Culprit worm to my old eyes.

Is it possible to cast too Hard?
Excellent info @bulldog1935. I find that when I'm casting for distance, there will often be a little professional overrun. I manage it with a little thumb pressure and by raising the rod upwards to compensate. Usually, it will sort itself out between the two actions. Wind direction and velocity definitely plays a part in it. My most successful long casts occur when I use more wrist and less arm.

Got my PB kayak bass today.
Outstanding. Did it tow you around a bit? I once caught a 4-5 pound LM in a canoe. That was back in my Army days but I remember he was moving my little canoe around till I got him in ?

Boat Cover Advice
Lowe Boats sells one for $715 plus shipping and tax. I'm betting Aurora Canvas is more in that neighborhood. 99% of my usage will be to keep the sun and debris out of the boat when not in use.

Palomar knot troubleshooting
That M-K knot looks easy to tie. I may have to give it a go. I have broken off on the Palomar on hookset a few times but assumed it was my fault for not checking my line often enough.

What advantage(s) does a spinning rod have over a bc rod?
I'd definitely agree with that. I only drop shot on a spinning rig.

What advantage(s) does a spinning rod have over a bc rod?
In my case, I feel I have more control over the cast when using a BC. The only advantage I see to a spinning rig would be being able to cast lighter baits and I could see where you could potentially pitch easier (though I've never done it). Line twist on a spinning reel makes them less desirable to me.

Wacky Rig Fishing is EXPENSIVE
It's been a very productive pattern for me using a Yumdinger (Watermelon/Red Flake). I was dubious at first but it's out produced texas rig for me. Either it's the technique, or I've just gotten better at putting the bait where it needs to be.

@Jeremy MWhat I figured out is that I could not edit the profile picture until I'd made 10 posts and graduated from "fry" to "minnow." After that, I could edit my pic and edit my posts.

Boat Cover Advice
I've been parking my boat under a lean-to, which protects the boat well. But, all good things must come to an end. Getting back to the lean to and getting the boat in and out is killing the yard when it's rainy. So, we decided to pour a dedicated pad/drive to park the boat on which will be nice. However, there's no cover for it so, I'm seeking advice here on what kind of boat cover to buy. I see them on Amazon for anywhere from $100 and up. Dr. Google says there are boat cover makers out there that supposedly make the cover to fit your boat. As near as I can tell, those run in the $400 range. I am looking for a cover where I won't have to remove my seats. Trailerable would be nice by not essential. Is there anything I need to be aware of when it comes to buying the right cover? Any particular ones to avoid? I fish out of a 2020 Lowe Stinger 175c with a butt seat up front and regular seat aft. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Have to brag !!
My daughter is in what they call the bridge program. As a junior and senior, all her classes are at a local community college. She’ll get her high school degree and her AA at the same time. She’ll start the University of Southern MS as a junior.
