Good day fishing today! No giants but lots of quality fish. 69F water temp south of the metro. Caught bass on hair, dropshot, spinnerbait and swimbait.

I haven't been out in a few weeks but that was pretty surprising. Not quite as surprising as having a 22" Wally smack a full size bass spinnerbait! Never had that happen before today.

Got out today South of the river. 68F water temps and super aggressive fish. I had a run early in the day where I caught a fish every cast for (possibly) 10 casts. Spinnerbait was the MVP.

I always have a spinnerbait tied on in the spring. A couple of years ago I caught so many on the spinnerbait that I got tennis elbow.

Got out today. 55F water temp. Fish were not very active but I managed a few. Could see decent sized fish up shallow but couldn't get very many to eat. Threw the kitchen sink at em. Dropshot got the biggest fish today at 17".

Got out for a couple today. Water temp was 49-52F. Fish were dirt shallow and quite a bit more aggressive than my last outing. Caught quite a few 14-16" and one chunky 18" fish. Pike were very active in the warmest water. Lost one of my favorite jerkbaits and one of my favorite crankbaits to the buggers. Part of the game in MN!

Got out in the wind today. 42F water temps and tough fishing. Got a couple 2# fish in the boat and one decent pike. Had a giant on under a tree but she wrapped me up and broke me off. All fish were caught on jerkbaits and hair jigs. Big gal was on a micro jig.

I live on a very small lake south of the metro. Still frozen but my dog did break through the edge today. Tomorrow is gonna be 78F. Might see some change then.

I also use those Kinco gloves. I keep a pair in every vehicle I own and a couple around the house.

7'6" Light or Medium Light Rod Recommendations
Last spring I picked up one of the new GLX 891s sticks and it is now my favorite rod for many finesse presentations. Keeps fish pinned and casts 1/8 hair jigs just as well as my St Croix Victory Crosshar did.

Got out yesterday for a few. 40F water temp. Bass were tough to find and then the bites were light. Had a near 40" tiger boatside with my hand under it's gill when it gave one good thrash to set itself free with my jerkbait still in it's face. Felt bad but at least it could still open it's mouth. That's a wrap for me. Can't wait till 26!

I'm thinking about getting out Wednesday. Probably better to just wrap it up since I've been putting off a few hundred projects around the property.

Lucky enough to get out today. Fish were a little more aggressive than I expected. Caught quite a few on moving baits!

Had a great day on Thursday. Just went out to test drive the boat after doing some maintenance to it and maybe run some old fuel out of it. Ran great right away so decided to fish for a couple hours instead. 70F water temps. Fish were in the green weeds in 10 fow. Caught almost 18# in two hours!

You aren't kidding! Luckily, for fishing, I was on the water at 0600 and off by 1030. Not too bad. Changing the oil in the SUV and grilling dinner were a whole different story!

Tough fishing today. Had to finesse em with tiny, unweighted plastics to get a commitment. Still better than not fishing. Water temps hanging at 78F

Amazing day south of the metro. 79 degree water temperature and the fish were on fire! Caught em shallow, deep and everywhere in between. Caught most on Texas rigs but caught a few deep cranking and spinnerbaiting. Even had a huge musky hit my crank right at the boat, didn't get hooks in her though. Broke my favorite jig rod but it was still the best day I've had this year.

Anybody fish the lakes near Chetek Wisconsin? Heading there in a couple of weeks.

Best Texas rig rod casting
I'm a big fan of the NRX+ 854c for this. I have a p5 FMJ as well and it's great but I like the Loomis just a little more.

I use Weather Underground and the Windy app. Both are usually great. I use Weather Underground and the Windy app. Both are usually great.
