  1. Indeed. I think I would've done better if I had my punching rod in the boat. I'd say that lake is 50% mats. I have it in there now!
  2. Absolutely got it handed to me on Shields Lake today. Couldn't buy a bite. To add insult to injury i had to pull about 100 pounds of weeds off the trailer after loading up. Neat lake though. Saw a few pelicans and a whole bunch of bigmouth buffalo. Would definitely go back... in my canoe. 68F water temp. Saw lots of beds, no fish.
  3. No tariff on my Vanquish from JLS.
  4. Everything that I caught was.
  5. Leg day on the boat today! Almost lost my hat but the 3.5 pounders were biting! Caught a few little guys shallow so I decided to head out deeper. Decent fish on the outside weedline that were ready to eat. Caught 7 or 8 3-3.5 pounders and lost a better one boat side. Pretty fun day. South metro lake. Water temp 58 (down from 68.) Fish wanted to eat off the bottom. No moving baits were harmed or lost.
  6. Fished a lake west of the metro yesterday. Caught a ton of fish but still no big ones. Fish were clearly prespawn. Could see males guarding empty beds in 3' of water. 70F water temp.
  7. Got out south of the metro today. 67f water temp and fishing was fairly tough. Probably caught 10 fish with most of em being 1#. Fish were at all depths. Not sure if the heat wave has em confused or what.
  8. Really nice coloring on the top fish.
  9. I ordered an under $800 reel from JLS a couple of days ago. I'll let you guys know if I am charged anything. I remember almost 25 years ago I was charged duties on a prop that I ordered from Canada. That was the only time I can remember that happening. Never once from JP.
  10. Open water south of the metro today.
  11. Probably my best day of 24! Hopefully those fours turn into fives for 25.
  12. Out yesterday west of the metro. Ramp docks were pulled out of the lake. 47F water temp. Fish were aggressive but I couldn't get any big girls. Caught most fish on jerkbaits. Probably the end of the bassin season for me. Lots to do around the property before snow flies.
  13. Got out for a few hours today with a buddy from Iowa. South metro. 50F water temp was a nice surprise. Was expecting mid 40s after the rain. Caught em on the jerkbait, jig minnow and jig. Probably 15 fish in the boat including four 4#ers.
  14. Got out for a few hours today. West metro water temps were 55F. Didn't seem like the fish were schooling up yet. Caught em everywhere on everything except for the flatside. The pike loved that one.
  15. I had the same temps today South of the metro. Caught a couple strolling but the fish were really hammering the jig in about 10 fow. Weeds are dying but there's still plenty of green if you take the time to look for it.
  16. Thanks. Rapid Marine is only about 20 minutes from me.
  17. Anybody have any recommendations for shrink wrap south of the metro? I usually get indoor storage but this year I'm thinking of wrapping her and sticking her outside.
  18. South metro lake I was on this morning was 68-69F so Omnia isn't too far off. More summer fishing today. Couldn't get anything to chase. Caught a whole bunch of 2# fish on jig and t rig. Lost one decent one at the boat. I'll get her next time.
  19. I was out the other day. Had a few blowups on frogs. Caught a couple punching. Caught the bigger ones out flipping deep grass.
  20. On a related note; my pb muskie was 50.75" and had 3 perfectly healed prop slashes down its back. You aren't kidding about them being tough!
  21. I didn't measure it. Wanted to get it swimming again ASAP and I wasn't sure where my tape was located. I would guess it was mid to upper 30s.
  22. Fished a metro lake today. Fish were scattered but fairly active. Water was 72F. Caught this muskie and it had what looks like a burn behind its gill plate. Anybody seen this before?
  23. I'm a fan of the Spunk Shad. A lot of the time I just raw dog it though.
