fishing on Lk. St. Clair
Sure you can catch tons of bass out there and they are easy as pie to catch but you have to know where to look for the ones that don't get messed with much, to get numbers of giants. I was more putting the word out to cover a lot of water cause when you catch one hundreds can be close by and it's not fun until you find them, then it's amazing! Still though St. Clair can't even compare to Erie, that's what I meant by never the best. I tried to stay away from places like Windmill Point and Belle River Hump when I fish out there and find things that other people don't fish. When you are out there the lake is so flat that literally a foot ledge on the bottom can hold hundreds of killer smallmouth. Check the weed spots in Anchor Bay, there's 2 for that place, and right in front of Harley Ensign landing can be awesome in the early spring too.

Side Imaging
Have any of you run side imaging units yet on your boats? We just purchased the new one that runs under 1,000 bucks and it's pretty amazing. Who would have thought how much everything has changed since I started tournament fishing only 8 years ago, you older guys have probably seen it all!!! They just had a show on the Outdoor Channel, made me think of this topic

what octane gas do you run in your outboard?
87 octane but you can always add additives to your fuel to rid the engine of carbon build up once a year, that saves you a lot of money

fishing on Lk. St. Clair
Just make sure that you don't go into Canada and start bass fishing or you will be in trouble! The best rock piles are over there but don't even think about it! You will need to cover as much water as possible to look for schools, try fishing around the Detroit River Mouth or if you can get down to the Erie river mouth you will knock them dead, there are a couple of hot ponds on Erie that are always warmer those can be aweome that time fo year, St. Clair is never the best fishery and will stink now that the new rules about transporting fish are in effect! Anyways extreme tackle canadian mist tubes will knock them dead, wayne designed them from years of being on the lake and after hundreds of hours of watching fish with his camera.

GAS PRICES
OK does anyone understand this crap? A couple months ago gas was less than 2 dollars a gal. here and now its 2.85 this fishing season looks like a pretty darn expensive one!

Lure Size for Spring Smallies
I agree. I always throw baits that are ind of large but smaller ones will also catch big fish. The other night my buddy and I caught 8 bass that weighed right around 30 pounds in only 40 degree water, biggest 5 went 20+. It was a fun night but a 40 inch pike knocked my 300 dollar rod off the deck and I watched it sink to the bottom but someone gave it to me and it was a P.O.S. lol

SOO still think a swimbait cant win a T?
You guys would hate fishing up here friggin 8-10 pounds normally wins all our tournaments, an outstanding weight during the spawn would be 15. Lucky badgers!

Zebra mussels breaking my line....what line to use
I always use 12-14 pound Gamma fluorocarbon. I use 6-8 whenever I am not around zebra mussels

PULLING LAKE WATER?
The bigger bass are in the mainlake right now. I've been fishing all around the Indiana/Michigan border and nailing them. I got one over 7 yesterday, no joke. Look in about 20 feet of water. If you find them they'll be in schools and big fish will be there!

FLW?
Are you talking about the BFL's? FLW has an entire line of tournaments to choose from and all of them require different tactics, mainly due to the number of competition days. Any way that it goes I reccomend not to pre-fish too much for a tournament and not in the same holes. A guy told me at Muskegon Lake a couple years ago he was catching 13-15 pounds all week and it made me laugh when he came in with 2 fish because he beat up his spots all week, the lake is only 4000 acres and he simply overfished his spots.

Weigh Bags and Juice
Garlic based products simply contain garlic. The point is that they irritate fish and cause smallies to become too active in most causes and the fish harm themselves. Please Release Me is a calming agent not an an agent to make bass active. When the fish are already stressed from being held in captivity they should be calmed. Also, yes the formulas remove amonia and chlorine from your livewells. I guess post a question for Doug Hannon he uses the Please Release Me, I'm sure he can tell you much more about the products. All that I know is that the fish were becoming too active in the livewells of people that I talked to that used Rejevenade and the fish were coming injured, but again ask Hannon.

Weigh Bags and Juice
thats the problem with the garlic based products exactly!!! They cause fish to get to hyperactive, spec, smallmouth and has harmful side effects on them. How many times have you added it to the livewell and had the fish go crazy in there? Banging on the walla like you just said and that's not good for any fish. The garlic in the products ticks the fish off and when they are already stressed how would you like being irritated? The seditive formulas calm the fish down, help prevent stomache regurgitation, and replace slime coating so I don't understand why more anglers don't use it. I'm just a big fanatic on proper fish care and they are still not being cared for, spec on the great lakes and it makes me very upset, please consider using please release me or catch and release formulas and keep ice in the livewells to lower the water temperature by about 5 to 10 degrees don't over due it though and our sport will be preserved for years to come

KIM STRICKER SMALLY VIDEO
I agree with you 100% it's amazing what you can see underwater. I'm actually making some videos myself right now that are turning out awesome! I actually had a largemouth act like he was going to attack the camera yesterday in only 42 degree water! It was honestly insane my friend could not believe it.

Bottom bumping Silver Buddys
If anyone has any Silver or Gold Buddies in 1/4 to 1/2 oz let me know please, the company is out of business now and I can't find them anywhere! I've caught some huge fish for where I live on them. They are an excellent bait

Any use for Aqua VU's
Wow, you guys are not taking advantage of what you have in an underwater camera. I am actually using one to shoot an underwater video series on bass and it is working excellent! I actually watched smallmouth and largemouth today with mine in only 42 degree water and carefully watched how they related to the bottom, baitfish, even my lure! Well to make the story short doing this helped me catch them but it's all about interpretation

Ha ! I did catch the lake record Smallie !!!
How much did that fish weigh? It's a total football, reminds me of a fall great lakes smallie!

Weigh Bags and Juice
The type of "juice" all depends on what kind of fish you are going after. Garlic bases products have been shown to cause negative side effects on fish when they are used for extended periods of time, which is not good at all. I always have used Please Release Me, which is the older version of what you purchased. You have the new spiced up formula to help promote slightly healthier fish.
