  1. A website? Aside from the initial effort, keeping it up to date would required a lot of ongoing maintenance. It's your time - no one's stopping you.
  2. The dollar dropped by 5 against the Japanese Yen today. Digitaka's prices don't reflect this as of 5 minutes ago, but I expect their prices to increase. Digital will be closed 2-5 May for holiday.

  4. I guess the timing was right for Gary. Turned 65 and made his move. Sounds like Dobyns will be business as usual with the same employees at least for now. I took a look at GSM's website and they also have Yamamoto and Big Bite Baits under their umbrella. It could have been worse - at least it wasn't Pure Fishing.
  5. You’re not wrong, but let the kid make his own decision. I assume that your neice’s nephew is a young man and has plenty of time to learn what works and what doesn’t. Heck, you don’t really have any skin in the game. Personally, I wouldn’t be caught dead using a DC reel.
  6. Daiwa Alphas 7:1 left and right $158 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NPDZ251/?coliid=I21FW9XP730JME&colid=2C3BUKK1V0BMW&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1
  7. Stradic FL 1000, 3000, and 4000 $129 @ TW. One day only. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_Stradic_FL_Spinning_Reel/descpage-STGL.html
  8. @Jigfishn10 I (me) don’t have to think it’s a big deal. No matter the outcome, they’re still going to play baseball. Life goes on.
  9. @Jar11591 To me, the Ohtani saga isn’t a big deal. It will come and go and only affects one team. It’s like the news - the initial story usually turns out to be false. Go Orioles!!
  10. I’ve never had nor even heard of a problem with Digitaka.
  11. Left hand Tatula SV on sale at Scheels for $149. Left hand only. https://www.scheels.com/p/daiwa-tatula-sv-baitcast-reel/04317859609.html?cq_cmp=20937020567&cq_med=pla&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&cq_src=google_ads&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oOzX0dGT3yYr27N0-DL_crKwIIT2AgV9R9tgAJTW2sIVsvWJvVbkLRoCLa0QAvD_BwE&src=hardlines
  12. @ReggieT Notice that most suggestions are in the NLT $100 range. I vote for the Lew’s Speed spool LFS, but many others will serve you just as well. The problem is that if you go too cheap and struggle too much with backlashes, you might just give up and never realize how useful and fun baitcasters can be. A better reel will be easier to learn with because of better breaking systems. Side note - If you crank a spinning reel with your left hand, you might consider a left hand reel because it crosses directly over from a spinning reel. (Cast with your right, crank with your left) I learned to use a baitcaster after 20+ years using spinning gear and I couldn’t get used to cranking with my right hand - so I bought a left hand reel and never looked back.
  13. I don’t care why they’re fighting. Of course it about money, promotion, legacy etc… I love Tyson in spite of whatever anyone says and I want Tyson to knock him out - out of boxing! I won’t pay to watch it, but if it’s free on Netflix I’ll watch.
  14. Lew’s Custom Pro. I finally broke down and bought a Zillion, but I haven’t even put it on a rod yet. I don’t doubt that I’ll like the Zillion, but I like all of my reels pretty much equally. They all work flawlessly for me. I don’t know what it would take to convince me that a reel was a “Cadillac”.
  15. Most spinnerbaits are under $10 and won’t break the bank. You’d be better off doing a search looking for “spinnerbait”. You’ll find hours worth of reading and so many recommendations it will make your head hurt. Spinnerbaits are generally inexpensive and some are better than others according to how much confidence each individual has in a particular brand. You’ll figure it out.
  16. @throttleplate I know the drill. Gave my wife a machete/bolo for X-mas one year. Saved wear and tear on our good knives.
  17. @throttleplate I’m glad to turn the page on Angelos’ ownership. Rubenstein is an unknown, but as long as he sticks with what Elias has been doing we should be in good hands. Acquiring Burnes was a great move that I didn’t see coming. I thought we’d missed the bus on getting some much needed pitching.
  18. @Bird I think that as many times as Elway went to the playoffs/Super Bowl and lost before he finally won would be considered as Dak-like. He got his redemption, but it took his entire career to get there. Lamar has been a starter for 5 years. It took Elway 14 years to win a Super Bowl. At this point in his career I consider Lamar a success so far. Was Marino a bum?
  19. Was John Elway similar to Dak Prescott? Take a look at Elway’s playoff record until he finally won his 2 Super Bowls. Was Jim Kelly comparable to Dak? Your comment doesn’t really hold water.
  20. @Cgolf I try not to place small orders, but sometimes I just need a couple items and end up ordering anyway, especially when they have 20% off sales on certain brands. I don’t have a solution. I’ll let Omnia figure it out.
  21. @Skunkmaster-k Caught the front yard on fire - burned a good 30’X30’ patch. Somehow my Dad noticed. He didn’t think it was funny.
  22. Speaking of hooks, Omnia currently has 25% off all terminal tackle.
  23. I’m about to puke. I love Flowers, but the rookie screwed the pooch. Now I’ll go root for Detroit.
  24. I disagree that they’re the same reel. The Johnny Morris is a better reel - just compare specs. A significant price difference IMO. If you’re looking in the $200 range the world is your oyster.
  25. I don’t think a reel has ever caused me to backlash. Adjustment/carelessness have always been the problem. I can only speak about my on experience.
