  1. Latest Metanium series basically are all the same size and share the same frame and side plates. The only difference is the spool size, gear material and handle length. Shallow edition should be the lightest due to its aluminum gear. 24 DC 70 also has the aluminum gear but slightly wider because of its modified brake side plate, which is now Ci4.
  2. I've also noticed that two exact same reel is not built the same, for example, I have two older 17 Scorpion DC, same gear ratio and everything but for some reason one of them is not as refined as the other, meaning I can hear a lot more "noise, etc." compared to its twin. Kinda like alignment issues if that make any sense.
  3. Right on! I actually just replaced both pinion bearings on mine (BNT3927 & BNT4194) cause it's starting to make that "Geary, Buzzy" feel and sound again, and just like that, it's smooth and back to normal.
  4. I used to have one, Well I still have it but it's in pieces right now, one of the side plate screws stripped on me a while back and been using some parts out of it for my other reels. I still have 90% of the parts like the spool, 2 gear sets (7 speed and 6 speed), handles, etc. It's a shame since the reel still looks brand new, but oh well. I probably will skip the next Chronarch if Shimano ever release another one. If any of you guys need some parts out of it, then let me know, I'm willing to donate. It was a Chronarch MGL 151HG.
  5. I prefer to keep my reels as factory looks as possible and I'm just not into XG reels, I have an 90MM 18 Bantam XG handle assembly installed on it right now and it looks pretty good, I'll keep it this way for now. Thanks for all the help.
  6. Google translate maybe on something for coming up with the translation like that?
  7. Was using Shimano star drag grease (ACE-2) for drag washer and gear set and sliding parts. Bantam 100 oil on spool bearings, ARB and everything else. Tried Super Lube NGLI-2 on gear set with good results. Tried Super Lube NGLI-0 or 1 on moving and sliding parts with good results. Tried Super Lube multi-purpose oil (part no. 51008) on ARB, level wind worm gear, pinion bearing with good results. Went back to using ACE-2 grease, Bantam 100 oil and didn't even notice the difference. I still like using the Super Lube 51008 on ARB instead of the Bantam oil though. Been experimenting with 75W-140 synthetic gear oil on pinion (X-ship) bearings and liking the results so far.
  8. Man, I sure do appreciate the effort and thanks a lot, but no result when doing a search for 1469V on Shimano US website.😒 Some of the random parts I've search using the part numbers above would show alright, but some would show something close but it's not the same, really weird! Oh well, I may just have to wait, probably not available to order anyway. Thanks again.
  9. Thanks, I'm fully aware and familiar with the Shimano parts website but since they don't have the schematics for the USDM 24 Metanium DC available yet, I'm kind of lost what part number to order. I need the handle assembly part number for a 24 Metanium DC 71XG, 20 Metanium MGL handle assembly has a different part number since it's silver in color and the 24 DC is black. Just personal preference that's all.
  10. Hey guys, Anyone here own a USDM 24 Metanium DC 71XG (Left Hand)? I need to look into the schematics for part numbers. Mine is a JDM model and it's no help. Thanks.
  11. Sweet! I already replaced the stock 84mm handle assembly with an 18 Bantam XG 90mm handle assembly on mine and really like it a lot better. I spooled mine up yesterday with 14# Sniper and tried it out at a local pond using 3/8 oz. chatterbait minimax, set it up on F on the line type and 3 on the brake and it's the lowest I could go without the spool blowing up 🤣, It cast really good and very smooth on the retrieve. It's just like another 23 or 20 Metanium with a DC brake, which is not a bad thing at all.
  12. I have not use it yet, but it looks pretty good and a little bit lighter than the 20 & 23 Metanium which I both owned, Handle side spool bearing is moved above the X-ship bearing right next to the tension cap, not sure it matters, just FYI. Paint job looks good but it's too glossy for me, it'll get scratched easy.
  13. My last DC reel...................Maybe???
  14. I just placed an order this morning at Digitaka for a 24 Metanium DC 71. Bait Monkey won again! 🙉
  15. I know it's an older SVS infinity brake blocks in the video below, but I do this to my reels once in a while. WARNING: Reel could backlash a few casts after doing this so make sure the brakes are at max after oiling. 😁 (just my experience).
  16. This Dude is already on it!
  17. 200DC should be a little bit wider than the 150DC, 150 DC spool inside diameter can't be modified due to the size of the DC inductor/module, the only way to add more line capacity is to make the spool wider.
  18. Shimano was in the process of assigning/replacing new parts numbers for their reels, so if you search the website for the old part numbers (which you should) that was in the original schematic that came with your reel (typically starts with "BNT" or "RD") then it should give you a new part number. For example, BNT4343 is now 105C3. Good luck.
  19. If you decided to order the bearings directly from Shimano then here are the part numbers: 10EX8 – Shimano US Fish Shop $4.33 x2 (BNT3927) spool side X-ship bearing x1. handle shaft bearing x1. 105BP – Shimano US Fish Shop $4.33 x1 (BNT4194) handle side X-ship bearing. 10S37 – Shimano US Fish Shop $7.14 x1 (BNT5806) palm side spool bearing. 1005D – Shimano US Fish Shop $6.19 x1 (BNT5804) handle side pool bearing. I think the only Metanium that has the aluminum gears are the Shallow Edition and the new Metanium DC. (plus, the older ones).
  20. My apologies, I completely missed that it was a used reel. My experience with Shimano reels 2 out of 10 are they get "Raspy" after few times of using them specially when water get in those X-ship bearings then gets smooth after a while after a few drops of Bantam oil. Then the first thing that would give is the X-ship bearing (BNT3927), there is another one with the same part number for the handle shaft (located above the AR clutch bearing), typically I would just swap those two bearings when I hear the "Geary" noise with good result. If not, then I typically just replace the two (BNT3927 and one (BNT4194) just to be sure and instantly the "Geary" noise just disappears. I don't own any XG but I've heard that they're typically "GEARY" than HG and 6.x gear ratio.
