  1. The movable rotor were always out of stock when I was looking. Given how well the fixed rotor Roro casts, I wonder how much difference there is.
  2. FG hands down, then uni to uni or uni to nail. Alberto, Albright and Yucatan were my go to for years. But getting too many breaks on tightening (mainly mono to mono or fluoro but some braid) maybe just lost my tying mojo over the decades.
  3. I have an old low rider ultimate trout rated as a ML 3 power rated down to 1/16 of an ounce. It tosses an 1/8th nicely . Definitely a moderate tomod-fast, but a nice rod.
  4. The Curado or SLX(with exchange rates) are a great bargain and excellent performers. If you stay in the 3+ gram range, the low rider could be an excellent performer. Is that the Trout model? Just give it a test run to save money. If you have a ML crank bait rod, some will toss surprisingly light lures.
  5. Hobie Wan just did a video comparison on da u tube. Solid tip vs tubular and slightly different action. Some comments about the 650 too
  6. The Roro with the higher rating (2-15), 29? Is a heck of an all around light lure spool in the Zillion. Very surprised by it. I haven’t tried the lighter 1-5gram model. I use 8lb on the Roro vs 20lb on the standard spool. Save the 30 for the curado
  7. I like the zillion better than the air. The silver wolf and the G I have are the same size based on calipers
  8. I recently tried an old 5 wt. way too mushy. What is your species target? For higher power taper is king. I wonder how some of the travel blanks geared for SST would be.
  9. ??‍♂️? seems like bfs is just fishing light finesse baits. The new low inertia bfs reels and spools enable this to occur (with the bait caster) Now choose the rod based on the targeted species. d**n BFS gets complicated around here.
  10. Baby sharks and tarpon
  11. Citrix or maybe KomodoSS. Pretty solid reels although I think the are outclassed by the Tranx or Curado 300 in terms of smoothness. I haven’t tried the LexaHD to offer an opinion. It has been a couple years since I fished the Okumaa. https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/okuma-citrix-komodo-51414.html
  12. I was going to say Okuma but they might be made by Doya
  13. Last year on, maybe, tactical bassin?? They were using/recommendations for the g loomis para crankbait rod. Out of my price range, but I have always done better with a moderate rod and light baits despite conventional wisdom. I have one XF jdm rod that flat casts but I hate the feel of it.
  14. I use a ML crank rod for finesse. 2.5-4.5 grams and it does pretty good. As you get closer to <2 the worse it gets. I like the backbone it has vs a light or UL, depending on your target species.
  15. Thanks, I wasn’t bright enough to find them. I could give youa Zillion reasons why, but FedeX is here.
  16. Not sure if NFC is selling the carbon grips with color woven in, but those and the new seats look sharp in the advertising. The boss lady brought it to my attention. d**n my cart is full as it is.
  17. Boiling water? Or lately, just set it in the sun measured my back porch last week. Thermometer in direct sun only 117. Thankfully it was only 70% humidity
  18. Been happy with the Lowriders (older ones) and a couple Bucoos. I like their non crazy fast actions. Shame they offshored, but they ain’t the only ones.
  19. Was just over at getbit looking at travel rods. They have several UL-ML
  20. Is there any consensus on between series actions SJ, SB, MB, P, CB. some sites list SJ as more powerful than MB, others the opposite. SJ703 XRay, IM, Delta lmx, Hybrid SB703 P703 CB703 Softer tip, more backbone? or is there a hidden chart anywhere or just compare bendy pics lol Edit: I did see an old post on Rod….org that SJ was faster/stouter than MB and that hot shot were faster still.
  21. Just picked up a couple cheap CRB NTS seats. Think I am going to like them. Hopefully can start the build on Monday.
  22. Lure at fish weights matter I would love a good 4 power with a soft tip. The Curado bfs is awesome for the money. Zillion tw with a spare bfs spool is very nice
  23. Seems in a lot of my 2 piece JDM rods, they have a bit lighter tip then move into mid. Butt sections seem stouter than USDM rods of similar weight ranges. All my experience is with L and ML offerings
  24. I really like the mojo bass glass crankbait, medium moderate. If they had a ML, I would get one. River smallies and trout
