  1. I had always been a very casual, occasional fisherman until that fateful day in 2001 when my 6 year old grandson said, ever so innocently, "Grandpa: next year I want to go fishin' a lot more." You wouldn't believe the rod, reel and tackle collection I have accumulated since then. In the process of collecting tackle I somehow learned to catch bass... The irony is that my grandson lost interest after a summer or two. I have high hopes he will catch the bug again this year.
  2. A fishing pet peeve is seeing a print ad or tv commercial for a fishing product where the actors are holding spinning gear upside down or otherwise using the gear incorrecty. Plus, in the most recent issue of "Bassin'" there is an ad for a free rod and reel if you subscribe to a crappie magazine where the Revo Premiere reel in the photo is mounted on the casting rod backwards (not to mention that the $250 reel is most likely not the free one they will get if they subscribe).
  3. When someone says "thank you" you are supposed to say "you're welcome." NOT "thank you" back at them....ARGGHHHH!
  4. I fish them weightless on a 3/0 Gammy EWG.
  5. I have two: a 6'6" M that I have used for 3 or 4 years for shallow and medium cranks, and a 7' MH I picked up this winter to use for deep divers. For the money you can't beat them...I bought both on sale and paid $29 for the older one and $39 for the new rod.
  6. I have three Symetre reels and am very pleased. It is hard to imagine a better reel for the money.
