  1. Apple Music and Sirius xm.
  2. Got a picture? Depending what’s actually cracked it might be fixable. I’d be surprised if you cracked the seat body but that would be an easy fix. A hood/locking nut might be fixable or replaceable.
  3. At that size, I prefer a jig head. A SIF has a sweet spot for the hook to come through. Any further back and you’re into the tail. But they are thick so you need a really short shank and really extra wide gap to rig it texposed. In those cases, I prefer a jig head.
  4. fortaleza is good. I can get it locally so not one that I have to order in. I have the plata at home Now for cocktails.
  5. care to share which? my usual online source is siptequila. We gravitate to extra anejo and they have a good selection. https://siptequila.com
  6. For largemouth, a keitech SIF 3.3 or 3.8 in your favorite color, with enough head weight to work it how you want. For smallmouth I’ll stick with the 3.3 usually. In the summer I’ll go to the 4.X sizes but if I only ever had a 3.8 I’d be happy.
  7. Do you have a specific brand/name you are looking for or just that type?
  8. I think all states charge income tax regardless of location sourced if you are a resident of the state. You will get some credit back for tax paid to the state worked, but you will end up paying more by living in one and working in the other. For example, at one point I lived in NY and worked in NJ. I think I was nominally charged 6% NYS tax based on my bracket at the time. NJ was around 8%. I would end up paying the full 8% (6 to NY and 2 to NJ I think it was). Not sure your income level and bracket, but 0% vs up to nearly 6% could be a a nice difference.
  9. If I’m throwing a topwater it’s probably either black or white. Black always gets first nod for me. Buzzbaits, ploppers, etc.
  10. Thanks gents, super helpful. Last year prespawn I caught bass in the steeper slopes leading here but didn’t go far enough to fish this. I also didn’t know about this stump field. I suspect that the fish will follow the baitfish (which are coming up this creek for warmth) and stage earlier at the steeper slopes where I found them, eventually working their way up this flat as the water warms to their liking. Eventually they will find a stump or patch to spawn at. It starts around 12-13’ and goes to nothing so lots of choices.
  11. For reference, this is what I’m talking about being excited for. These would be in 3-12’ at normal pool and there are a lot more not shown in the pictures.
  12. Hi All, Anyone know of any studies to show how far bass move and how quickly in the winter or spring time? One of our reservoirs was 25' low this summer and still is about that much. I'm sure it will fill over the winter, but an area I want to fish is a solid 1-1.5miles of dry land right now to the nearest bass. I recon it won't be until Feb sometime until its back up to the 8-15' deep it normally is and I'm wondering if the bass will travel that far for the pre-spawn in late april. I'm hopeful since its a big stump flat that I think could give up some bags of fish. I'm going to fish it regardless (unless its still dry), but was curious to look ahead to next year. thanks, rick
  13. Fun and deadly, once you get the hang of it. This. I started with a centerpin about 20 years ago now and its a real tool for that slick water. I fished it for steelhead to start, but it also went with me to England and I used it for grayling and trout. Early season steelhead with a single egg when the leaves are still on the trees and the air is above 60 degrees- perfection. Weight depends on the water you're fishing and how big of a float you're fishing. You need enough weight to set the float so just the tip is sticking up. For most things for me, that's about 6 BB shot or equivalent. Depending on the location, that usually means 3-4 right at the bottom of the float and the balance spread down the line. You can also stack high and low or spread all of them evenly. The bait or fly is unweighted.
  14. I rarely carry a spinning rod and I REALLY struggle to convince myself to carry a MH for the same reasons as you. Anything I want a MH for I will throw a baitcaster. If I'm carrying a spinning rod, its for a ned, dropshot, or similar light rig and a ML is more than enough. If you really want to find a use, I imagine it would be a good jerkbait rod (I know AJay prefers spinning for that). If you have baitfish busting surface fish I'm sure you could make a real bomb caster with some lighter braid and a big topwater.
  15. I love the idea and would love to do it, but I think there are too few pros and too few time. This feels like something a pro would do once or twice to make a good youtube video for subscribers ("Hit the like button and your name will go into the hat to be the person the pro fishes with for the day"). More broadly though, this is what I like to do with my dad once or twice a year. He's not a pro, but he's been bass fishing for 50 years or so now. He knows a few things. He'll come out and fish my waters (his boat, him running the trolling motor, I just pick the lakes and set the first direction). I fish, but really I'm watching to see what he's doing different to how I'd do it and why. I always learn a thing or two. Same the other way around- I'll come fish his waters (still with him in the front of the boat, though he doesn't fish hard) and fish the way I think I could catch fish. Not sure if he learns anything from me, but I can at least test my own knowledge and way of thinking vs his and see who catches fish. I'd love to see a similar exchange set up here on BR. I know some guys occasionally go and fish with others, but having a thread or forum for "I'm going fishing next saturday in this general area and have a seat in my boat" would be awesome.
  16. We really struggle with dogs. struggle to keep them entertained, struggle to get the blankets out from under them in bed, struggle to find enough space on the couch for our own butts, etc. Dogs are a struggle.
  17. the og6 is my spring silent tight wobble crank. The dt6 is my go to nearly silent crank the rest of the year. A lot of waters here are pretty high pressure and clear so a more subtle crank seems to be better. while an individual baitfish doesn’t rattle in itself, a school of baitfish will produce a rhythmic whoosh as they swim that isn’t far off a higher pitched rattle. I’ve heard it myself while snorkeling and diving.
  18. a winch mounted on the wall? electric even? Depending on how thick of a rope you use, a pair of ropeman ascenders would work. Put a carabiner or other comfy handle through them and align them so that the slide up the rope (towards the kayak) if you slide them, but if you're just holding them they are holding tight. Then just slide the first one toward the boat, stand on the tail of the rope, and slide the second one up towards the first. Repeat. https://www.wildcountry.com/en-us/ropeman-1-40-rope1_0000
  19. We have a dog that ensures cats aren't welcome in the house. god I love that dog.
  20. I would love to do a fishing lure christmas tree. If we didn't have multiple trees already I might just try it. Maybe a small desk sized one and I can hang up all of the random lures that are on my desk. I'm surprised that ploppers aren't effective for you. My only limitations on efficacy are grass. I get too much of it in too many lakes to throw a plopper all the time. Either way, if you want to unload those three, PM me what you want for them.
  21. So what's the solution for jigs and chatterbaits then? I've read through this thread and watched the videos. Looks like there isn't a good solution with this type of box setup for jigs and maybe not for chatterbaits. I don't know about you guys, but I've got more than 70 jigs and chatterbaits in my 3700 right now (four groups for jigs, swimjigs, finesse jigs, and chatterbaits. CB split by weight, jigs and swimjigs split by color, finesse jigs all together).
  22. I just put Goodyear duratracs on my Ram. I wanted a slightly more aggressive tread without going too crazy. we don't have the same sharp gravel/shale/metal that you're talking about so can't tell you how they perform there. But otherwise I'm happy with them. A little noisier than a road tire on a truck, but the ride is good and I have no worries about getting stuck anywhere. https://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires/wrangler-duratrac
  23. For the baitcaster, the Falcon Expert 7'3" 'Hudson special' should be on your consideration list. Its a MH/MF, but is closer to a moderate action than a fast action in the MF spectrum. Great rod for bigger treble hook baits and I fish ploppers and cranks on it all of the time. It does other things well too. MSRP $200. I'd class it for 1/2-3/4 oz hardbaits and equivalent rigging. If you're thinking more 1/4-1/2 treble hook baits, then the 7' all-round is a great rod. I have the Bucoo SR version (trapcaster) but I'd go with the expert to do it again (and I might pick up that rod this spring).
  24. Ha! What do you have you want to get rid of? I'm decently stocked but always expanding.
  25. Just run down the list of falcon experts from 5 to 7 power, throw on a cara 7’4” jig rod and thats basically there.
