Canada fishing
Yeah thats true, but pretty much everything that swims there seems to be huge and abundant. Nj is just very pressured, and idrk many spots to catch anything. I plan to explore the passaic river. I would only be able to go to the lakes accessible by road. Would be a little vacation i guess. That is awesome, if you were in my shoes where would you plan on going? Even if not for pike, smallies or lmb are fun too

Canada fishing
Hey everyone, this is random but i have recently been looking into canada to go fishing, i live in nj so it would be a long drive. BUT it seems canada has unpressured water and huge fish, i was talking to a guide the other day who flies clients out to lake evans for monster pike. Has anyone had luck fishing in the ontario region?

Anyone have any experience with the catch mode 110? did you mount a motor on the back? im deciding between this and either the nucanoe unlimited or oldtown sportsman, any input is appreciated

Nucanoe kayak consensus? (Or oldtown sportsman)
Do the nucanoe boats paddle well?

Nucanoe kayak consensus? (Or oldtown sportsman)
Yeah i definitely am all over the place. i have time to decide though so im considering everything. Anyways, why was everything hard to set up? the transom mount SEEMS easy to use

Nucanoe kayak consensus? (Or oldtown sportsman)
Really?? Do you have the pdl system on yours? Also, what kayk did you get from them?

Nucanoe kayak consensus? (Or oldtown sportsman)
Is nucanoe any good? I am looking into getting a fishing kayak, and am split between the oldtown sportsman and the nucanoe. I would go with the sportsman in an instant, but the price is a bit steep for the pedal drive. The nucanoe definitely wins in terms of customization, and i can always had the drive system later on what do you think?

Diy kayak transport
Depends how much it would cost me. I dont have a hitch so i would have to install it

Diy kayak transport
I didnt even think about the weight, i will look at the owners manual. I also dont really care that much about the car, its 20 years old and has a lot of scratches. I definitely dont want to put money i dont need to into the car, so cheap is ideal. I think i might make a diy roof rack with a pvc pipe thru a thick pool noodle, then i cant just strap it through the doors, as pictured below. but my main question would be, how do i get the heavy kayak ontop of the roof?

Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?

Diy kayak transport
I have a ford taurus 2002, its a sedan. I plan to get a sportsman 120, a 12 foot and heavy kayak. How can i transport it easily, and solo? I was thinking id use foam blocks for under it, but how can i load it onto the roof? Is there anything i can make/buy to make it easier?

Boat registration in nj?
Ok to clear up some info here, i have not yet determined which boat i would get. My friend and i would split it, and he has his boating license, so i would probably just use it with him. I can always get the certification later. The boat is still to be determined, but at our price point i doubt that they will have paperwork. The outboard on it is in my friends garage, he has 2 extras, i dont know how much hp. I would primarily use it in nj, and ny. I would also probably have to buy a trailer. I guess my specific questions are, what kind of a boat should i get that will make registration easiest? Is it that much of a hassle to register? Would out of state be ok? From your past comments, i am assuming yes as lomg as it is registered?

Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
I will probably go with the sportsman, but out of curiosity, does the drive system on the hobie feel natural?

Boat registration in nj?
Hey, i an looking into getting a small jon boat with a friend, and then mounting a motor on it. How much of a hassle would registration be? Would i need insurance? We are spending about 500 in total on the boat and trailer,

Install trolling motor on kayak?
Yeah that seems like a hassle
-
Install trolling motor on kayak?
Yeah i looked into it a bit, i dont know if a trolling motor would be the best option, i would have to register it, and places are more limited at my lakes. The sportsman i think would be good bc it is meant to be either paddle, pedal, or motorized, so i could do whatever i want really.

Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
Yeah, they said i could sit in it but i cant test drive until april, but im sure that the drive would be great
-
Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
I found a shop that sells the 120 pdl for 2200, i may pull the trigger

Hobie mirage passport or oldtown sportsman kayak?
Yeah im definitely looking into a tsst drive, but not a lot of places by me offer it. Im in bergen county nj if anyone by chance knows a place that does, let me know. Or down in glassboro nj could work too. I feel like the hobie would be a better fit, it offers much of the same tech, but the fins kick up easily, its lighter, and cheaper. The sportsman i would only buy the 10.6, which is still 2500. The hobie would be 1900 for the 12 ft, which i think is much more reasonable, but i ultimately dont know.
