  1. Something is wrong in your setup if you’re consistently allowing them to get deep hooked on soft plastics. Sorry when I think of soft plastics my mind goes to Texas rigging which is what I thought you were asking about with circle hooks. I see now the conversation is regarding Wacky. Circle hook away.
  2. Had the 844 MBR Glx and much prefer the Expride.
  3. I have these that would work: Shimano Expride 72MH 3/8-1oz Megabass Orochi Perfect Pitch 1.2oz Falcon Lowrider Head Turner 6’10” HF 1/4-3/4 Daiwa Rebellion 7’3” MH F 1/4-1oz Dobyns Champion XP 684c HF 10-20 1/4-1oz Shimano Poison Adrena 7’2” HF 7/16-1.5oz Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehrler Finesse AGS 7’ M-MH XF 1/8-1oz Daiwa Tatula 7’3” MHF $73 at midway right now I have more that would work but are a little heavier, like 3/8-2oz.
  4. My dark sleeper was a noodle. Hated It.
  5. What techniques do they market their 7’6 MHF for?
  6. I can’t think of one reason to use a circle hook for bass unless you’re fishing with live bluegill.
  7. I went for It but didn’t tell the wife.
  8. Deleted because this is four years old.
  9. Plus I’ve never heard of Doybins ?
  10. You better hurry OP. I just got one for & $79 after tax.
  11. Discounted Dobyns Champ 684c Expride 72MH (got mine for $120) Falcon expert
  12. I have the 73MH. I also thought I got a glass rod when It came in. The butt section is as big around as my thumb. With that said I’ve probably caught more fish with It than any other setup I own. I use It for weightless Texas rig senkos and It does great. However you can tell a big difference in comfort and weight when I pick It up after using some of my lighter thinner rods.
  13. I don’t really think so. I have all my similar colored senkos in a zip lock. At any given time I could be grabbing baby bass, green pumpkin with a variety of different flakes, pbj, black, black blue etc. They all work. On a day when those were working I had like 4 white ones left I wanted to burn through. Hooked them on and they worked the same.
  14. Roboworm rebarb or owner cover shot 4/0. And don’t look back. Cover shot has a better keeper.
  15. Thought you meant you were casting It all off. When I snag It breaks at the fc leader though so I don’t lose line.
  16. The majority of my fishing im moving the lure with my Rod and using the reel to pick up line. I don’t know the ipt of one reel I own and I catch a whole lot of fish. General rule of thumb for me is a fast reel for picking up line and a slower reel for winding baits. The minute I start worrying about the ipt at the end of my cast, then 1/4 of the way in on the retrieve thinking ok, I’m now getting 2” more per turn, and then halfway in thinking heck yeah, this is It right here, I’m getting 5” more per turn than I did 20’ ago…etc. yeah that’s the minute fishing stops being fun for me. If this is your thing, that’s awesome for you. But you’re not going to convince me that It matters that much. I also wonder if ska would actually talk to any of us to our faces the way he does in every single thread on the Internet. Highly doubt It.
  17. Back in the day I was big in to kayak fishing. Have owned 3 ocean kayaks, a wilderness systems, a Viking, and 5 hobies. Hobies were my favorite hands down. I used to own a hobie adventure (not the island). This was a 16’ rocket. Went up to 5 miles offshore in Florida in It and all over the marsh. Amazing amazing kayak. They eventually renamed It the Revo 16 and then discontinued It. Guess not many wanted long touring/fishing kayaks. Today, if I went back to kayak fishing and since i picked up bass fishing, I’d get an outback for sure.
  18. I wonder how much the fish care if a lure is coming in at 30” per turn vs 25” per turn?
  19. I like them. I don’t bomb cast most techniques. I had the same reel as you and don’t see how you ran out of 10lb Braid on a ned rig.
  20. Pics of your setup?
