  1. I’ve been waiting on pictures from the organization but they are slooooow. I’ll go ahead and give an update. Well we had 22lbs and the lead after day 1 but couldn’t hold on after day 2. We had 13.5lbs on day 2 for a total of 35.59lbs and 4th place. Winning team had 19lbs day 1 and 35 day 2 for a total of 54lbs!! Hard to compete with that. Since this was the police games and not a typical tournament, they structured It like 2 individual tournaments and an overall tournament. So they handed out gold medals to us for day 1 win, gold for day 1 big bass, and silver for overall 2nd place big bass. I’ll have fish pictures one of these days hopefully but here are a few for now. There was 28 teams total, 5 from my PD since It was our local lake. We brought home WPD 1st place amongst the 5 lol. Same lake last night 6-11pm evening tournament. These guys won with 42lbs
  2. @jimanchower how do you like the rod? Good for what I’m talking about using It for?
  3. Depends. If I’m pitching to cover I pitch in, wiggle or lift It a few times, and reel It in. If I’m fishing points or deep cover or whatever, I cast and drag slow to the boat.
  4. Yeah I love my mets and bantams. Just need a 7.1 and I’m impatient. And I can’t physically make myself put a daiwa reel on a shimano rod!
  5. What about the aldebaran? Anyone have any experience with It?
  6. Yeah It says free shipping but I might wait on digitaka if those are my options. Or just get the 6.2 in stock at digitaka. It’s going on a 72 MH Expride that I’ll use for swim jigs and light Texas rigs. It’s a 3/8-1oz rod.
  7. Dang I wonder why they are $22 more than digitaka?
  8. I’ve only ever used digitaka and don’t really know any of the other ones. But digitaka is low in stock at the moment. Does anyone of a jdm site that has a 7.1 bantam in stock? Thanks!
  9. I bought a 7’2” MH Expride last night for $125. Tons and tons of choices in your price range.
  10. I always have a 5” senko on deck. Always. I need to get some 4” I guess.
  11. I have 17-25lb fc on multiple reels. It’s fine to run straight fc. However I usually only have about 50-75 yards of the expensive stuff on and the rest cheap mono backing.
  12. The tourney people took some better ones that I’ll have to get from them soon but here’s a sneak peak. This is a 9” glide bait completely choked.
  13. Lmao i used to have a deep crank setup and honestly hated throwing It. So I sold It. Been toying with the idea of getting another one soon. After day 1 weigh in we’re in 1st place with 22.12 pounds and overall 9.31 big bass.
  14. I’m about to purchase this exact rod if I can get the omnia code to work. Wouldn’t have thought of It as a frog rod but that’s awesome that it’s so versatile.
  15. Would love to but their sorry mobile site covers up the check out button on my phone! ? Guess I’ll have to call them:
  16. I just drag them at a steady pace keeping contact with the bottom. To me It looks like a big Shad rooting around! 6/0 ewg
  17. Well it’s actually .75oz jig with a big kinky beaver. I don’t know what It actually weighs but over an ounce for sure. Good for fishing deep ledges. I’ll probably be throwing some kind of big worm or the mag fluke, whether c-rig or t-rig 75% of the time.
  18. I think I’m going to use that omnia deal for Tatula rod. Trying to decide which power/action. Thinking just another Texas rig rod. Can always use those.
  19. Unrelated but some of the best times I ever had were between boats when I owned Hobie kayaks. I would take them up to 5 miles off shore in Florida. One day I got into schools of thousands of Bonita hitting top like sandbass. Every cast was a 5 pound fish. But then you had bottlenose dolphins stealing them before you got them in. Great times. I was insane. I was by myself though and got back to the rental place later to tell my wife and kids. Of course it’s not the same as if they had experienced It. Probably pretty dumb being that far offshore by myself. Lol
  20. Good question. Been wondering the same.
  21. I have a small club tournament (~25 anglers) at grapevine on 9/30. Never even been on the lake.
  22. Agree with most. Weakest part of your whole setup is the hook or knot. Dowel Rod or stick and pull. It won’t just break in a random spot if the line is healthy and you won’t leave a bunch of line out on the break.
  23. I’m fishing a two day tournament on a local, huge, deep, clear water reservoir this week (Texas Police Games). Just wanted to share my lineup because I’m bored and can’t wait. Let me know what you think. I try to have most stuff covered but in reality won’t have time to fish It all probably. 9.5hrs tomorrow, 6.5hrs Thursday. We’ve been finding fish in 5-20’ of water. Mostly 15-20’. Lately we’ve seen them blowing up on huge gizzard Shad. The threadfin Shad spawn is well over with but they are going after gizzards hard right now. Amistad XH w/ mono for Chad Shad. I have extra reel ready to go for big 1.5oz jig if needed. Perfect pitch with line thru swimbait (BB kicker into homemade line thru) I will fish these around deep docks in the shade as It gets hotter. Expert All Around with jabberjaw Kaden with LC 1.5 Squarebill Not sure I’ll use these but squarebills are kind of a go to this time of year for me if I happen to be up shallow. Maverick with vixen ready to go just in case I see them blowing up on gizzards on top. Rebellion w/ Weightless t-rig senko 684c weighted t-rig senko Always have senkos ready. DX746 with 1/2oz Texas rig 7” mag fluke- deep gizzard Shad mimic Poison with 1/2oz shakey with big straight tail worm 804c 3/4oz c-rig - anything from senko, lizard, brush hog, to 15” c mac worm. Fished deep Bayou for 10.5” power worm fished deep.
  24. Excellent bladed jig rod also.
  25. How is It impossible to reel faster? How were people catching fish when a 5 gear was considered fast?
