Tournament lineup for Wednesday and Thursday

Featured Replies

I’m fishing a two day tournament on a local, huge, deep, clear water reservoir this week (Texas Police Games). Just wanted to share my lineup because I’m bored and can’t wait. Let me know what you think. I try to have most stuff covered but in reality won’t have time to fish It all probably. 9.5hrs tomorrow, 6.5hrs Thursday.

We’ve been finding fish in 5-20’ of water. Mostly 15-20’. Lately we’ve seen them blowing up on huge gizzard Shad. The threadfin Shad spawn is well over with but they are going after gizzards hard right now.

Amistad XH w/ mono for Chad Shad. I have extra reel ready to go for big 1.5oz jig if needed.

Perfect pitch with line thru swimbait (BB kicker into homemade line thru)

I will fish these around deep docks in the shade as It gets hotter.

Expert All Around with jabberjaw

Kaden with LC 1.5 Squarebill

Not sure I’ll use these but squarebills are kind of a go to this time of year for me if I happen to be up shallow.

Maverick with vixen ready to go just in case I see them blowing up on gizzards on top.

Rebellion w/ Weightless t-rig senko

684c weighted t-rig senko

Always have senkos ready.

DX746 with 1/2oz Texas rig 7” mag fluke- deep gizzard Shad mimic

Poison with 1/2oz shakey with big straight tail worm

804c 3/4oz c-rig - anything from senko, lizard, brush hog, to 15” c mac worm. Fished deep

Bayou for 10.5” power worm fished deep.

I have no idea what they bite in Texas but the 1.5 oz jig made we read it twice.

Effective for punching and fishing deep hydrilla in warm

water. Cbump may have comments besides these

Living in Texas here for a while, I can say that everything here is bigger, including the tackle. Big jigs, big swimbaits, big worms, monster flukes. All very popular here. These Texans don’t screw around

By the way, @Cbump despite the very impressive lineup, approximately how much time do you see yourself throwing a worm?

Well it’s actually .75oz jig with a big kinky beaver. I don’t know what It actually weighs but over an ounce for sure. Good for fishing deep ledges.

I’ll probably be throwing some kind of big worm or the mag fluke, whether c-rig or t-rig 75% of the time.

mag fluke

I would like info on how you fish that ASAP. You have it on a 1/2oz?

I already have a pack of them in white ice

I just drag them at a steady pace keeping contact with the bottom. To me It looks like a big Shad rooting around! 6/0 ewg

I like this.  Played around with a mag fintech and 7" fluke before with decent success.  I'd like to try a big fluke on a free rig, might be nice for those fish that are relating to the bottom but not quite on it.

I like the way you're set up, the 2 additions that I'd be ready for is 5/8oz big hair, preacher, chicken jig and some deep cranks.  Good luck in the derby!

I’ve been waiting on pictures from the organization but they are slooooow. I’ll go ahead and give an update.
Well we had 22lbs and the lead after day 1 but couldn’t hold on after day 2. We had 13.5lbs on day 2 for a total of 35.59lbs and 4th place.
Winning team had 19lbs day 1 and 35 day 2 for a total of 54lbs!! Hard to compete with that.

Since this was the police games and not a typical tournament, they structured It like 2 individual tournaments and an overall tournament. So they handed out gold medals to us for day 1 win, gold for day 1 big bass, and silver for overall 2nd place big bass.
I’ll have fish pictures one of these days hopefully but here are a few for now.

There was 28 teams total, 5 from my PD since It was our local lake. We brought home WPD 1st place amongst the 5 lol.
