  1. Thanks for the tip, Marty! You seem to have all the answers! I wouldn't throw that thing, with anything less than an 8 foot heavy rod... lol How much does it weigh? Maybe I should read again...
  2. First of all, did you coat the inside of your plaster molds with some kind of sealing agent? Some such things are; shellacs, or water based sealers. If you did use that, then try brushing in some kind of fish oil, into the mold. This will give you the glossy texture, do this every time you pour a batch. I.e., each set you pour. When you pour, pour it with the mold at an angle. This will allow all the air bubbles to escape out of the hole. Hope this helps you!
  3. I hope your brother in law doesn't think he is batman... CUZ I AM BATMAN! lol Jk. Pretty sick bait though! I am working on a 7" swimbait right now, and not sure what to do with the lip... I really like the way you did that huge swimbait, it is really nice! You got a lot of talent!
  4. Good work! Something else you could throw, is a crank bait. Something in shad color. I like to throw a Big O, by cotton cordell! I like to throw the smokin' joe, with bleeding gills, and red chin. Works great, when the bite is bad!
  5. Dawn and dusk are fantastic times to throw top water. This is the time when the fish are surfacing to eat their prey! The morning, is when they are the most hungry, but I have seen them just as mad during the evening hours. Depends on your nat population, on the water, other natural foods, and water temperature.
  6. I like to run them as slow as the reel will allow me. Depends on the depth of the fish, holding in their specific area. I might also just burn the heck out of it. What's the water temperature? What's the air temperatures? What's the weather like? Usually, on overcast days, I will burn, on sunny days, just slow and steady!
  7. That is what it is! Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I am glad someone knows how to search a lot better than me! Any bets on it's worth? I think I might sell it, if it's at all worth it. A clean, BNIB boxed set, should set someone back a little, I would think?
  8. Just found this, not really helpful, but a step closer to figuring it out... Still need information, and help! http://cgi.ebay.com/OLD-NICE-JOINTED-WOOD-FISHING-LURE-A-I-GO-GETTER-GR-W_W0QQitemZ160245952302QQihZ006QQcategoryZ794QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Nothing there. There is one that is a single bodied bait, but nothing like this one... There isn't a name on the box, or anything... Which is really strange... Thanks for that, anyhow!
  10. Nice catch Teria! It's not the size of the fish, it's the fight, and finding out, that you just landed something bigger than a 1lber!

If you go to walmart, there are kinami baits, much cheaper, and are basically reject senkos. Made by Gary Yamamoto, says it on the package. If you don't like 5 bucks a bag, check out wave worms, they are just as good, and catch just as many fish. Love those things! And at a little over 3 bucks a bag with tax, it's great! They are just as soft as senkos, and just as worth it. Though, I find some of the worms have different hardness... Which is weird, not in a single color line, but in each color line, they seem different... Might be me though! I buy baby bass, and silver shad, as well as red shad, and sweet potato pie. All great!
  12. I just acquired a lure today, that I have no idea, what it is! It just says paw paw across the bill. It's pretty old, by the looks of the paint. It is all crackled, from age. It is in the original box, I assume. Any ideas? Is it worth anything? Thanks for any help you can provide!
  13. I usually hit the tulle lines, trees, and structures. I do basically the same thing, as during the spawn. I just attack it more aggressively with soft plastics, usually. I am hooked on crank baits, and top waters. Pop R should be hitting hard, soon!

You are such a great artist, love all of them, including the bottom waker... I am in love with those! SEND THEM TO ME! You rock man!
  15. I am a lucky man, I guess... My wife's first time out, last year, she casted like a pro, and caught like 6 bass... She isn't perfect, but she is almost as good as me... She is a really fast learner! lol
  16. They make treble hooks with weed guards, or you can rig them up yourself with some 25lb mono filament line, and some lighter line to tie it on. That is always a plus about, "do it yourself jobs!".
  17. LOL! They are just gorgeous though! I don't put a hammer in the shop, on the wall, and never use it... So I am sure they would get used! Believe you, me... lol
  18. The two people I would like to fish with are; Pros; 1: Ish Monroe, this guy is insane, and he has to be a blast to fish with, he is totally himself on the water! 2: Steve Kennedy, because he killed the elite series last year, with his win on Clear Lake, which is my home lake! Place: Clear Lake, California. about 120 miles North from San Fransisco, and 120 west of Sacramento! This has been called, "the bass capital of the west" for good reason! Big bass, and lots of them! People I would like to fish with from the forums; 1. Big M, he is a pretty awesome guy, with a talent for making some really nice crank baits! 2. anyone else, everyone here is so d**n awesome! Especially to people who need a little help, now and again! Same location as above!
  19. I will bring the fish up the boat, and watch it thrash a couple times, by then, they are so exhausted, that they won't do it as much. Then jam your thumb on those teeth, and grip the bottom jaw, and pull him out of the water! just be careful, the lip sometimes rips where the hook is, and it can get ya! I haven't had it happen, but have seen it. Bill Dance had it happen, I think, way back. It was on video, and he said it wasn't that bad... I think it was an incredible blooper reel or something... Either way, just be patient, and you won't hesitate later on. The pro's don't care if they get a hook in their hand! Shoot, if I had a chance at a quarter million dollars, I wouldn't either! lol
  20. At least the fish know how to use protection! lol
  21. I don't have a picture of mine, but I have caught a 3lb spotted bass, out on clear lake, ca. a couple weeks ago. Wasn't huge, but it took that wacky rigged watermelon with red flake, and ran! It was on a brush pile, back on corinthian bay, just west of the county park. It was a real pretty fish, the deepest emerald green you could imagine, and dark, black lines, and spots. I have yet to get a largemouth this year! I fish a lot of underwater trees, and such. Always remember, large mouths like to hide under heavy structure! Docks, near boat ramps, and under heavy brush piles. And they typically bite in water, with a temperature of 50-70 degrees! They will be recognized by an olive color in murky water, and a darker shade of green in clearer water. Their lower jaw extends to the middle of the eye. Where as the spotted and small mouth only to the front of the eye. Just some info for those whom don't know, or havent researched this! I just found out most of this, just a few weeks ago, when I realized I had pictures from last year of a 4.6lb female... Which I thought was a large mouth, but is, indeed, a spotted! That's my biggest bass, and my first bass that year, on an ultra light cherry rod, and a 1" white thumper tail grub, and 1/32oz crappie jig. What a fight it was on 4lb line! I almost lost her in the brush!
  22. I wouldn't worry about the hooks, as much as the sharpness of a hook. If you buy a cheaper hook and have time, you could always sharpen the tip with a hook sharpener... I haven't had that issue with my lazer sharp hooks, so I usually use them for everything. But a hook, is a hook... lol
  23. They have all sorts of tutorials on this site, and they are some of the best I have read! Here is a link to what I am talking about. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html Enjoy!
  24. Too pretty to fish with. I really couldn't dip some of the baits you make, Marty! It would make me really sad, if I lost one! lol But I would still buy it, just to put up on the wall! lol
  25. I have been wearing my board shorts lately, but, they are too big now... lol I usually pin them a little to keep them on. I have been losing weight, and it just looks funny. But I love wearing board shorts, as they dry really quick, and are very comfortable. I am a pretty colorful guy, on a normal basis, and I love to be seen on the water. Plus I am always ready to be seen, in low light conditions! My father in law and I are usually on the water until dark, and enjoying the cooler weather. Then I switch to some sweats, or jeans, and a jacket. As the mosquitoes out here will eat you alive! lol Thank you for the comments. I have always had a strive for being well mannered, and to use proper grammar. I am a very well educated writer, in my spare time, in which I write reviews for computer companies, or just for the sake of writing a review about a product I have used. I just love to write! But also, I am the kind of person that likes to present myself, as intelligently as I can. "The future is always brighter, when you present yourself intelligently." My mom used to tell me that! And having a good attitude on the water, also helps. I might not have a great fishing day, but I like to show that I had a good day. Often I seem like I am upset, but I'm not. But my wife reads through that! She knows I am disappointed, but I try to show that I had a fantastic day. It's always a fantastic day, on the water! Every fisherman can agree with that, I am sure! I love fishing, being in nature, and examining my mistakes. I can always get better, as I practice, and take time to understand the fish, and conditions.
