Whopper Plopper or Berkley Choppo?
Just a curious question. Which do you prefer, the Whopper Plopper or the Berkley Choppo? Also, what colors?

Double Uni knot for braid to fluro?
Ok, I use high viz yellow braid on my spinning rod with a clear fluro leader. My brother uses all braid (green) and catches just as many or maybe even more fish that I do sometimes. I use the high viz yellow so I can see the line more easily. I've been thinking about trying high viz yellow braid main line to a green braid leader. How would a double uni knot work for that?

Double Uni knot for braid to fluro?
Thanks guys. To show how...non proficient I am with the FG, I had two of them slip on me yesterday on the lake and two of them when I got home retying. Finally got it right....I hope. To me it's actually a fun knot to tie when I get it right. HaHa..

Double Uni knot for braid to fluro?
Just wondering if any of you use the Double Uni knot for tying braid to fluro and if so how do you like it? I've been using the FG knot but I'm not really proficient at it and don't always get it right whereas I am proficient with the Double Uni. Thanks and tight lines.

Topwater frog fishing.
Maybe five seconds is an exaggeration. Let's say long enough to see the bait start moving away. I've even thought about adding a trailer hook but that would make it hard to fish around cover/timber...wouldn't it?

Topwater frog fishing.
Try as I might I have not been able to get a single hookup using a topwater frog. I'm fishing it on a baitcaster, using braided line on a medium/heavy rod, boiling them to make them softer, bending the hooks, trimming the skirts/legs, waiting a eternity before setting the hook, actually watch them swim away with the frog in their mouths for at least 5 seconds and then setting the hook only to come up empty. I'm about ready to give my few frogs to my brother. Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong? Thanks fellas.

It’s time. New gloves needed. Simms Solarflex Guide gloves.
I wish I had started wearing gloves years ago. At 66 years old and having had multiple areas of skin cancer I guess it's now a matter of damage control. I also now wear a 'fishing shirt'.

Slight 'Bump' in baitcaster retrieve?
Ok, changed out the handle and it's not the knob. I'm not as mechanically inclined as I once was so I'm leery of digging too far into myself.

Abu black max discontinued?
I'm an Abu fan. Have owned and still have several Silvermax's but never a BlackMax. A few people I know who have them love them. I was going to get one to replace one of my older reels but Wallyworld only had the Abu Max ST and as I recall it was around $64. It's ok, but I think the older reels were better. Just my opinion.

Slight 'Bump' in baitcaster retrieve?
Ok, Thanks Bulldog. Tight lines.

Slight 'Bump' in baitcaster retrieve?
Yessir, it bumps at the same spot every time. Would it help to spray a little graphite in the handle knob?

Slight 'Bump' in baitcaster retrieve?
The other day I noticed...as the title infers....a slight 'bump' in the retrieve of one of my older Silvermax reels. The day before it seemed fine but the following day there was this slight but noticeable bump at the same spot on the retrieve. Any ideas what this may be? Also, like I said, this is one of the two oldest reels I have, somewhere around eleven years old. Thanks.

Braid to fluorocarbon connection knot question
Dang I never gave that a thought. I use the FG but a knot is a knot when going through the guides and onto the spool. Spools just another breaking point. I will shorten my leader this morning. Thanks man!!

Berkley choppo Vs whopper plopper
I actually broke the tail on the one Choppo I had setting the hook on a bass. It was a freebie I found at work so no money out of my pocket. It was a fish catcher for sure! The replacement will be a WP.

Lure colors for blue stained water?
An added comment, the blue stuff that was put in the pond did not turn the water blue but actually turned it a little deeper green color. Yesterday in the middle of the day with 85 degree air temps I used a black Zoom Magnum Trick Worm rigged wacky style and caught 10.

Lure colors for blue stained water?
My mother in laws farm pond developed a summer scum on top and they poured some type of blue algae/scum killer in it that will turn the entire pond blue. What lure colors would you guys be looking to throw? Thanks.

Chatterbait color for tea colored water?
Slight change of plans, now going to a lake that it always relatively clear. I would assume something on the more natural side?? Like a green pumpkin???

Chatterbait color for tea colored water?
Thanks Texas. I'll give em a shot Saturday.

Chatterbait color for tea colored water?
OK, what Chatterbait color would you guys recommend for tea colored water?

Hover Rig
Yes, I do remember hearing Matt say that in one of his videos now that you mention it. I can't make up my mind if I want to give it a shot or not. Most of my fishing is done from the bank and I only take the boat out about once a week or so.

Tackling a larger body of water as a bank angler
I'm checking them out as well. I have the same problems. I can go to my mother in laws small pond and catch bass after bass but NOT the case when I go to a larger body of water. Sometimes I'll catch one or two at best but most of the time I get skunked.

Hover Rig
Has anyone tried the Hover Rig. I believe Matt Stephan and Johnny Shultz developed it.

Glenns' video about cheap lures
I'm a cheapo I know. I fish on a budget so to speak...and not an unlimited budget either so whenever I can I look in the bargain bins for cheap baits. I'm not spending megabucks on lures that I could hang up and lose on the first cast or $$$$ for Yamamoto Senko's when I see something almost identical for a third the price. Thank you Glenn for a great video!!!
