acadia reel!!
glenn, i'm in no way associated with them. i just thought some one might be interested in their products. The rods they sent to me are of better quality than other stuff on the market and for the buck, i think its a good deal. The reel might be the same...i don't know...i am not a professional fisherman or sponsored by anyone, just a weekend guy having fun when i get a chance to fish...most of the information i have about acadia comes from a buddy at work and he is a weekend fisherman and is the one that told me about this site a while back....i don't know who they sponsor or send free stuff to test. i just know most guys look for good deals, clearance pricing, discounts, etc. i just ordered and recieved skip-n-pop baits and the guy sent me an extra 4 white baits with the order, i did not order or solicit the "free" baits. i am grateful and will try these monday on caddo, if it don't rain.... most people who start up a business struggle a lot the first couple of years and some never make it successfully pay off...i sure you folks had the same problems and it takes a lot of courage to do this... you probably won't get a medal for try to make this a great website....keep up the good work... i remember a guy who quit college a few years back and started building computers in his garage, his name is michael dell... good catching, bluebonnet2 P.S. you are welcome to PM me at any time...

acadia rods!!
good evening, picked up my rods this morning at the post office...nicely packaged......got home and i have an old utility reel with 12 lb. mono, so i put it on the 6' 6 mh with 3/8 practice plug. in about 10 casts, avg was approx 30 yds, so i rigged a wave worm(tiki 5") with a gamma 4/0 ewg(no weight) 10 cast..avg 25 yds...will try the 7' in the morning with a different reel and a jig....this is NOT a professional test!! now the rods, fugi thru handle, bright blue(epoxy coated) fully wrapped guides, very good cork handle... may not be a bad rod for the buck....will give 'em a good workout mon. or tues on caddo... good catching, bluebonnet2

clear water?
good evening, i was wondering out loud ;D, can water be to clear? i fish a hot water lake(power plant) 85degrees plus, in east texas and the water looks like tap water....plenty of grass and stumps, old trees and lay downs, however, when i put on my polarized glasses, i can see 15-20 ft. down and 30ft. plus side ways. i been missing a few fish and there are small fish everywhere around my boat. i talked to a guy today and he said go to 8# floro..... i fish mostly plastics... any suggestions would be welcome... good catching, bluebonnet2

any other ugly stick owners out there?
good evening, i have two, called lite pro, seem to be all right , one 6' spinning out fit/mitchell 300xe/20 braid, 1 7' baitcaster with a garcia 5000/30 braid. don't seem to jerk the bait out of the mouth,(braid is sensitive) because they are flexible.. and i've caught fish with both..... ;D i like 'em,and i can afford more expensive and i have some nice browing rods as well as BPS...... good luck bluebonnet2

baitcaster
good evening, i hope your combo is working well for you.... i have two ugly sticks(light pro series), one 6' spinning rig with the mitchell 3ooeg and one 7' (1piece) with a garcia 5000, and i love 'em. ;D...i can afford more, however, these rods and reels have be around a long time.....beside they catch fish!!!!!! and i like they way they feel....remarks made by others don't amount to a hill of fire ants, , very bad taste.. since you are a young person with a long road in front of you, there is a great book available, called "what you think of me is none of my business"......just my 2 cents worth.... good luck, bluebonnet2

First Baitcaster (Recommendations)
i forgot to tell you, after you spool your line,(start with 12 lb.) take the rod and reel to about 2 o'clock and let the reel release, then adjust the "brake", little knob on the right side, (looking down at the reel) till it quits letting out line when your weight or practice weight hits the floor.... this will help you slow down "back lashes"....don't be fearful, everyone get 'em.... get in the back yard and PRACTICE>>>>> good luck, bluebonnet2

First Baitcaster (Recommendations)
good evening, just a thought, garcia 5000, get one and learn with it and you'll be able to 'thro' anything.... wally world under $50....caught two this afternoon with one (18", after 7 pm on top waters) ;) i like 'em cause they have a full metal reel seat and are practically indestructable good luck, BLUEBONNET2

Keeping Bass Hooked on Jig???
good morning, i'm no expert either, however, i try to keep the fish down, as long as possible, and don't let em jump. i know its exciting, but i'd rather get em in the boat and then practice my admiration for a great game fish.... good luck, bluebonnet2
-
Kipawa prop problem???
godd afternoon, i love my prop and do not have any of the noise problems you mentioned. i really fish shallow water (less than 5') and keep the speed on 2 to 3, depending on the weeds and wind.....i have the MK40 edge.... good luck, bluebonnet2

Breaking in a new motor....?
good morning.... my dealer added oil to my first tank of gas when i picked it up at the dealership.(hope yours did too), told me to run assorted rpm's till the tank was less than a quarter full, however, never longer than about 2-4 minutes at full throttle till the gas was mostly gone..... i read the manual and this is what merc. recommended. i to have the 50 2 st. on a 2007 triton 1650(mossy oak) and it runs right at 35mph on the garmin. started it every morning for over a week for 5-10 min....fires right up now,... . love this little boat, however, my first bass was over 20" and had to bend her to get in the live well. going to cut the divider out with a torch(welded),,,,,the salesman said it was to keep water from sloshing around while you are running, well, when i catch a big one, i can handle water on the floor, since it an all aluminum boat ;D. BTW, i caught her is about 1-2 ft. of water, where i could never put a big glass boat good luck, bluebonnet2 P.S. took a black magic marker and marked 14" and 20" on top of the live well!!!!

hello again!!!!!
good afternoon, just got back from caddo lake....1650 does just fine ;D....35 + mph...garmin thingy :... 20" bass, 9:30 am...brushhog(junebug)...2.5 ft. water, next to cypress tree(what else?).. part cloudy, water temp 70 deg. ;D now, the kipawa prop on the trolling motor is a monster, right thru thick grass and lilly pads without any problems ... i have heard a few negative things about them, however, i would recommend them to everyone.... good catching bluebonnet2
