  1. Yeah, that was some pretty poor reporting!
  2. I used to have a variety of Shimanos, Diawas, and Quantums, but over the past few years, I've replaced most of them with Revos. I currently have several Revos plus two Chronarchs and a Curado. My spinning reels are all Shimanos.
  3. I've had this little guy for about a month. I named him "Fred" after the Ray Stevens song. I took him out in the boat for the first time on Sunday. I wish I would have taken a picture when he was riding in the boat and having fun. Instead, I took a picture after he fell in and was pouting. Now my PFD smells like wet dog. Anyway, if you've ever wondered why I go by "Bird Dog", it's because I often have one in my boat. Now if I could only get them to point bass.
  4. The original question said nothing about sneaking anything. He's asking how he can use the GPS ethically. The only answer is to ask permission. Some of you are making too much of this.
  5. Welcome to BR!
  6. I hear that a lot, but I actually really like foam.
  7. I can't imagine anything I could possibly care less about.
  8. I love nothing more than to see a Gator cry!

    Welcome to BR!
  10. Just because you only invest one quarter the amount of time, dedication, and energy into your fishing doesn't mean all nonboaters are that way. Perhaps if you gave 100% you would understand where I'm coming from.
  11. Welcome to BR!
  12. Do you really believe that you're the only one who knows about your spots?

  14. I'm anxious to see the first BCS ranking tonight. Tin, you are right about Okie State flying under the radar, but with upcoming games against Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma, they won't stay that way.
  15. That sounds like a good all purpose combo. I think you'll be happy with it.
  16. I read somewhere that as much as 80% of a smallmouth's diet is crawdads.
  17. I paid full price for my '09 STX's, and I'm still happy with them. I haven't tried the Victory reel, but of the other three, I prefer the Revo.
  18. X2 Most of the time, I wouldn't care if a non-boater brought a GPS onto my boat. I fish public waters, and chances are good that I share all of my "secret spots" with hundreds of other fishermen. The main exception would be if we were fishing a multi-day draw tournament. If I'm on fish today, I don't want this guy showing up with his new partner the next morning.
  19. That's what I was thinking. Imagine what that sucker will look like this spring!
  20. I agree 100%. I was fishing a tournament in Texas a few months ago, and the wind was blowing like crazy. My partner and I thought we heard someone yelling, but we were unable to identify the source. A little while later, we noticed several puffs of smoke coming from the far (downwind) side of the lake. We fought the wind and waves to the other side where we found a young couple and their three year old child stranded. The puffs of smoke we had seen turned out to be them signaling by discharging a fire extinguisher into the air. Their motor had died, and the wind pushed them across the lake and nearly capsized their boat. It was no easy chore getting them out of there, but it was obviously the right thing to do. We spent the last 90 minutes of tournament fishing time towing them back to the ramp. Another time, I was fishing a tournament in Kentucky. It was maybe 9:00 AM when another boat pulled up beside me. They had been out night fishing all night, and they had obviously been drinking. Their boat was now out of gas, and we were probably five miles from the ramp. The lake was calm, the weather was nice, and the trolling motor battery still had life. I pointed them in the direction of the ramp and continued fishing. No way was I going to give up the morning bite to tow two drunks in who had failed to fill their gas tank.
  21. After all the dumb jokes I've read on here, for some reason that one made me laugh.
  22. Berkely Gulp minnow for numbers, but my biggest drop shot bass came on the back half of a broken trick worm.
  23. You're not kidding! I drove from Institute to Montgomery today, and I bet I saw 25-30 bass boats on the river along the way. That's mid-day on a Wednesday!
