  1. What fun is that? Cropdusting. Oh, good point!
  2. No. Alaska is the only state...They have other options! ;D ;D ;D I was stationed in Fairbanks for three years, and I had the option of staying for thee more. One of the deciding factors was the lack of bass fishing. Salmon and grayling fishing are fun, but it's just not the same.
  3. That's the funniest video I've seen in awhile!
  4. Happens to me all the time.
  5. As my move to West Virginia draws closer, I'm spending more and more time researching the fishing opportunities around my soon-to-be home. There are a few reservoirs within driving distance, but the Kanawha River runs right through Charleston. I have read both good and bad reviews. Has anyone spent any quality time on this river?
  6. I bought one a few years ago. I think I paid $69 for it. It was a decent reel for the price, but it wore out pretty quickly. I only used it for a year.
  7. A couple of weeks ago, I was in the campus bookstore looking for books for next semester. I found one that was marked 50% off, so I opened it up, and the whole thing is in reverse. Page one is at the back of the book and vice versa. I guess I'm going to have to get used to it because I couldn't pass it up at that price.
  8. If I was looking for a family pet, I'd probably adopt one from a shelter. But I'm looking for a bird dog not a lap dog. This dog will be expected to serve not only as a companion, but also as a big running, tough as nails, bird finding machine. He should have a good nose, intelligence, bidability, and style. Sure, I might get lucky and get a dog like that from a shelter, but by getting one from a breeder with a proven track record, my chances are far better. I'm not getting him from a backyard breeder or a puppy mill. I'm getting him from one of the top field trialers in the country. I did a favor for him a few years ago, and now he is returning the favor by selling me this dog at a greatly discounted price.
  9. Right now! And try to scare them a little to the west as well.
  10. Dude, that picture of Burt cracked me up!
  11. Care to elaborate?
  12. We're always hiring. www.goarmy.com
  13. I've never used it, but my fishing partner bought some a couple of years ago, and all he did was complain about it.
  14. I love that catfish!
  15. another bird dog! I've always wanted a pair of pointers, but for one reason or another, I've limited myself to one at a time for most of my life. Since I'm en route to a new job which should have a less demanding schedule and zero chance of deployment, I've been strongly considering getting another pup. This morning, I emailed a field trialer/ breeder friend of mine, and he made me an offer that is going to be very difficult for me to refuse. Anyway, if things work out, this little guy might be coming to live with me in a few weeks.
  16. Thanks, guys. I guess I'm going to have to buy a nonresident license. At least they are fairly inexpensive compared to some states. $37 for an annual nonresident license is not bad at all.
  17. Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Also, does WV have fishing seasons, or can you fish year round?
  18. Welcome to BR!
  19. Seriously?!?! That dog was vicious!
  20. Can somebody in WV tell me what the requirements are to be eligible for a resident fishing license? I looked online, but I couldn't find it. I might just be blind. Anyway, my situation is this: I am active duty military, and I'm being stationed in WV. In many states that qualifies me for resident status immediately. If not, how long do I have to be in WV before I'm considered a resident? I'm hoping someone out there can pick up a copy of the fishing regulations and look this up for me. I just can't find anything about it online. Thanks in advance, Steve.
  21. You're late. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1282667588
  22. I've seen that before, but it was edited for TV. Too funny!
  23. What is the benfit of those type of pedals?
  24. What kind of shotgun did you get?
