Be sure to watch the second video available for close ups of the Firebird pieces.

The comment near the end of the news broadcast said an investigation to find out what if any role speed played in the accident.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Firebirds are supposed to fly. Aren't they?

It was the bridges fault. If the bridge hadn't been there neither would the guardrail. Mr.19 year old would have made a clean pass of the police car.

What a selfish little *********. Putting untold numbers of people at risk driving like that on an interstate. He'll probably sue everyone from GM for not making a bridgeproof car to the company that supplied the concrete for the bridge.

YEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! Didn't know a Pontiac could go that fast!

Were the old Hazzard boys driving? hehe Im glad he's okay they didn't say if it was intentional speeding or malfunction but, I've passed cars going about 120 before on a closed racing circuit. So I could've dodged the bridge

At fifteen? You've led an exciting life so far  :o.

I wish I could do it all the time, but it was just a one time thing. Maybe when I get a job I can buy a race car because if there is two things im addicted to, its going fishing, and going fast.

BTW the car i was driving was a Super tuned Subaru of some sort at Virginia International Raceway. Super fun!

Ignorant to do that on a interstate. Too many cars and too many cops around to try it.

Not saying i dont go fast, just that anytime i do test out a car or something its either at our drag strip or on a long strip of country road nearby.

Wow!  That was really something!  Gee, I wouldn't have even guessed speed had anything at all to do with it! ;)

I've played Need for Speed II on my 'puter and I could've dodged the bridge too! ::)

Awesome. Passing on the berm, on the right shoulder, and through exit lanes is all the rage lately. It happens to me weekly, and I drive pretty fast. It isn't always teenagers, either.  Doubtful that any lessons will be learned by this, though.

That was some serious air time!

This kid lives real close to me. He goes to the local rice killer meets where I live
