  1. I have a Sedona that I got for my birthday in 1997. I fish hard. I fish often. That reel still works. Get the Shimano.
  2. I have a very similar situation at work. I am constantly explaining to the young Soldiers that even in a modern, technologically advanced world with a global positioning system, Soldiers still need to be trained on how to navigate using a map, compass and other low-tech tools. The same thing aplies to fishing. We have the technology and a thorough understanding of it will, without a doubt, improve our fishing success. But what happens when technology fails? What happens when you fish a small lake without a "hot spots" map?
  3. OPERATION HUMAN SHIELD
  4. I had a bunch of soft plastics (various brands) that sat in my tackle box in the garage for the three years I was in Alaska. When I finally used them again, they were all at least four years old and I couldn't tell any difference from when they were brand new.

  10. Nobody! Really?
  11. After what I saw on the news today about Bausch & Lomb, I don't think I'll be putting anything in my eyes!
  12. I use Brush Hogs quite a bit and always leave then intact.
  13. How does FLW sponsorship differ from B.A.S.S.? I've been a B.A.S.S. member for many years, but for some reason I've never really paid much attention to FLW. In B.A.S.S. the vast majority of sponsors are fishing/boating related and it makes sense. If KVD is using Strike King lures, others will buy Strike King products. I see FLW pros with A&W and Snickers jerseys. How does one go about becoming a Pop Tarts pro? I doubt anyone is running out to buy Land O Lakes butter after a tournament. I'm sure the answer has something to do with Wal Mart. Just curious.
  14. I can't believe it's lasted this long!
  15. The most obvious reason would be price. You can get a Cardiff 300 for around $110, a Curado 300 is gonna run you around $250. I don't have a Curado, but I do have a Cardiff and it works just fine for medium sized swimbaits.
  16. If I had enough weight to get a check, I probably would have gone off on someone. If not, I would probably be able to calmly explain the situation and my displeasure. I did a lot of tournament fishing in Kentucky where there are two time zones. Knowing the tournament hours was always a little confusing because you never knew what time zone the tournament director was from. I got into the habit of sychronizing my watch with the director and I continue to do that.
  17. And rubbery too. That's pretty much the way I would describe them.
