Ready for college football? Let the trash fly!
LOL, Tennessee has a big target on their back with that new coach of theirs. Hey, give that new coach some credit. He's getting commits from 13 year olds. Do you see anyone else doing that?

AV Day
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki has declared 30 June "National Sovereignty Day". I like "Arbitrary Victory Day" better.

Lure of Choice
The question was about fishing a pond. I don't think you really need a search bait. There's only so many places a fish can go in a pond.

How bad will my boat hurt me?
Catching fish shouldn't be a problem. Those guys in the high power bass boats will be zooming right past some prime fishing locations. I would be more concerned with making sure that your boat is set up for tournament fishing. Like Catt said you'll need a good operational livewell. Also many tournaments will require your boat to be a certain minumum length, kill switch, console steering, insurance, etc.. Good luck and let us know how you do in the tournament.

Rod lengths and actions
Okay, I guess I could have worded my response better. What I am trying to say is that you must feel comfortable with the rod in your hand. Reel Mech, Cidgrad96, and RW all gave some good advise, but that is just a place to start. I wouldn't suggest buying a particular rod length until you have handled it and know that it will suit your style. I use a 7'6" rod for deep crankin' and a 6' pistol grip for shallow crankbaits. They both suit me just fine, but obviously different from anything the others reccomended.

Six months down...
six to go. Today I am officially over the hump. Halfway done with this tour. You may not realize it but this website has helped me keep my sanity for the past six months. I have lived vicariously through all of you and I want to thank you for the pictures and stories that you post. I am scheduled for some R&R in August and should be home for good in December. Until then I'll continue pitchin' and flippin' to the old mop bucket and I'll be following your fishing season on Bass Resource. Thanks, Steve.
