  1. i would ask him..."if i gave you $50 for gas, would you take me to your favorite spot for a day of fishing? ;D seriously tho, i would ask "how important do you think color is when it comes to jigs and soft plastics?
  2. i am a carpenter....currently i am working for a company that builds press boxes for football stadiums and such....i dont get paid very much(but i do get a raise every year) but i look forward to work each day....and it is a great company too. they even gave me a x-mas bonus when in fact i was technically still working for the staffing company. i am 30 years old and this is the first time i have had medical insurance, not to mention dental and vision too. its great....it is like building a small little house...pretty much the same process except is scaled down. and recently i have also been learning to weld(we build metal and wood boxes), which is something i am also enjoying alot. i just like to do work and look back at the end of the day actually see that i accomplished something. i know alot of people spend most of their working lives in jobs they cant stand...my dad did for 35 years, but now he is retied and very "comfortable" and can do the things he enjoys. i hope to spend 35 years doing the job i love to do, then retiring and fishing all day everyday!! ;D Cliff
  3. guinness if i am feeling like i have alot of money...otherwise bud light
  4. Just wait until you catch a fish, and the line breaks ;D The Fluoroclear is very limp, and very easy to cast, but breaks VERY easily. Pline is awesome, try the fluorocarbon. I use 6lb on spinning and 15lb on casting, stuff is incredible and least memory of any fluoro I've used. you got that right....because of this crap called fishing line i am now like 5 jigs and several hooks, worms and weights poorer!! > i wouldnt even use this junk as backing! forget all this new fangled crap on the market now...i will buy trilene XT and thats it from now on....i know it is good line...i should have never changed lines in the first d**n place!! vent over Cliff P.S. i would not recommend PLine Floroclear to anyone for any reason!
  5. yes behind the head is good, and you might want to get these to go with your pliers for removing hooks, they work great! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp;jsessionid=NDSRPNIP3QNH1LAQBBJCCONMCAEFGIWE?id=0002086119251a&type=product&cmCat=pricegrabber&cm_ven=data_feed&cm_cat=pricegrabber&cm_pla=0250709&cm_ite=0002086119251a&_requestid=99480
  6. i always used a cardinal 101, light action rod with 6 trilene XL when i lived in minnesota....i landed a 36 inch muskie that tried to eat my ten inch walleye on this set up...it was a ton of fun!
  7. Yea Red its true. They didnt make Starts lefty so he restrung it and plyed it upide down. One of the managers from Hard Rock Cafe, got fired for buying one of Jimi's Strats for 10,000. When they got it it was a right handed knock off, wasn't even a Fender so he restrung it to be a lefty? i thought he just played it strung like a righty but turned it upside down....so the "big" string for him would have been closer to his head.....does that make sense?

i dont know really, i got home from running my errands and stuff and was kinda tired so i layed down. then i started thinking, what the *#@& am i thinking. thats when i spooled up and left. or maybe it was because the wife and kids were fixin to be home ;D Cliff
  10. well i got new line...i didnt get the ultra soft simply because i needed line right now and i have to order that stuff...maybe next time. i looked at all the stuff there was to choose from in academy today and i decided on PLine Floroclear, 10lb test. i spooled it onto my revo and hit the local tanks. i really like it so far. i dont know if it is the line or the fact i went down from 12 to 10 lb test but man i can cast a whole lot better now! further and with less backlash. and i managed to land a few bass(see outings section) thanks for the info on the lines, i think i will try the ultra soft next time i am in need of line Cliff

well i had a half day of work today which was good cuz i had to get some things done. while doing these things i stopped by academy and baught some new line(PLine Floroclear) anyway i was lying on the couch watching TV at about 4:30 and decided i should spool up and go test it out. so i did. started off with a white 3/8oz booyah spinnerbait and managed one dink. then i tied on a LC RC 1.5 in purple perch and managed an even dinkier dink. each of these fish came on the first cast with each bait. then i moved to the other tank across the way(same tank my PB came from) right now it is about 3 feet low, and it is a really small tank so there isnt much left of it. i threw the RC out a few times and then i scored this one it went 2.5 on my scale and i have to say that thing put up a hack of a fight, and it bit at the extent of my cast so i had a nice little fight. this is the first fish i have caught over 2lbs in a long time, and these were the first fish i have caught in these two tanks in even longer. i was only gone for about an hour too!! i will post my thoughts on the new line in the other thread i have going on that topic thanks! Cliff
  12. i have to say smallie....but i did catch about a 12lb muskie once on light tackle and 6lb test.....and man that thing fought hard! took me forever to land it...but i think a 12lb smallie would have been a harder fight! ;D
  13. so if i am 30 years old...do i get to choose what side to be on?
  14. me too, i have a pair now for going on three years and they are great....very comfortable and they are showing no signs of breakage or anything....excapt the toes are worn to the steel toe but that was due to like a weeks worth of kneeling on concrete at work with toes dragging....when these finally die i will buy another pair of georgias Cliff
  15. so your saying that the regular hybrid is better for casting gear than the ultra soft? or does either work on either rig and it is a preference thing...i am talking casting gear here cuz i dont have any spinning at the momnent Cliff
  16. thanks...actually avid was the only one who had any info that helped ;D thanks Cliff

  22. i like stevie ray alot...didnt jimi play his guitar upside down? i heard how that came about...dont know how much truth there is to it but i was told that he was very poor growing up and he bought his first guiter at a pawn shop, it was a "righty" and he taught himself to play it "lefty" anyone know if there is anything behind that story? Cliff
