its not the $7 x-rap's i am worried about, it is my favorite, and only(at least until christmas) $15 lucky craft that i am worried about!!

this sounds like it will be a ton of fun...but i cant make it...too far and with a new job i cant take the time off, plus i usually save my time off for one trip a year back to NY to visit the family....but next time it is at fork i can make it...only a couple hours from here...hope yall have fun..cant wait to see the reports and videos and stuff Cliff

yeah i had a repeat of yesterday today...except i didnt waste a half a tank of gas...went to some private stock tanks...4 dinks...one on a spinnerbait, three on a trap...blah! Cliff

well, i have been avoiding this post all day, cuz today SUCKED!!! i drove and hour out to this place...the public acess areas were crap...no real spots to fish from shore, no cover, sticks, grass nothing...the marina was even worse...i wont be going back there until i have a boat....ended up going back to the golf course where i normally go...caught 4 dinks in the first 10 casts or so...not even a nibble from there out...i tried everything, jigs, t-rig with several colors and sizes of baits...cranks deep and shallow, topwater, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, slashbaits, minnowbaits...everything in my dang box!! so after a bunch of hours, a half a tank of gas, and four dinks from the place i didnt even plan to fish, i went home and took a nap...it was the highlight of my day i keep hearing and reading how the fall is supposed to be great for fishing...i kinda want 98 degrees and bright sun back cuz i cant catch crap it seems now...anyway...it wasnt a total flop...i WAS fishing!!! i quit smoking about 4 years ago and started chewing....i am at about a can every two days....but...during my move to texas about a year ago i began smoking a bit on the drive down here...now i am still chewing and smoking a few smokes everyday...i suck! good luck dude, its tough! Cliff

thanks for the tips guys, i will report back after my trip.....i went to walmart tonight to renew my fishing license and get a few things...i got plenty of shallow cranks, but no "minnow" baits so i bought an x-rap (XR-10 i think it is) and a minnow rap, some more gammy hooks, a pack of black horny toads, and zoom u-tale in watermelon red....with that and the stuff i already i had i feel i will be pretty well prepared....the weather is showing for nice day, up to 80 or so but very windy...15-25 and gusting a bit more.....i kinda had the same plan in mind that ring fry said...topwaters, then cranks/traps, then plastics...anyway i will let you know how it goes, thanks again Cliff

so your a new this summer to bass fishing dude, you have been fishing stock tanks all summer long....now, this saturday you are going here.... http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/limestone/ and again will be fishing from shore...what would you have tied on to start the day? i know nothing about this lake other than what is on that link...but i guy i work with frequents it for cats, and tells me the bass fishing is great...any tips from all you guys to help make the hour drive worth it would be much appreciated!!! i will be there by 7am hopefully and fish all day long thanks! i use the abu garcia c101($33 at walmart) i think they are great for $33 bucks.....i used to have two of them but i gave one to my buddy, cuz he was using some old half broke POS

sorry to hear it dude, i know the feeling, kinda....about two years ago, i did exactly what your not supposed to do, i lifted with my back(4x8x7/8in sheet of OSB, while standing on top of a step ladder, yes i knew better) and twisted at the same time...result....entire pelvis and lower 6-8 inches of my spine went and inch and a half to one side(right i think, cant remember) totally sucked, wicked pain, few months in the chiropractor, and no more problems.....but now that i am back to actually doing physical work....it is starting to bother me again...the last two days it has been really bad in the morning, just for kicks, i timed my self this morning, it took me 6 minutes to put on my pants and socks....but after about and hour or so of being up and moving, i am fine, no pain, working, lifting(properly now ;D ) i am going to be 30 at the end of november...only 30...i fear that this one stupid mistake i made will now haunt me for the rest of my life....so like others said...do what the doc says, he knows his stuff...he will fix ya up nice and good i am sure....good luck! i am looking at the abu cardinal 3 ($65) and the abu cardinal 800 ($120)....is it worth the extra money to go with the 800? i havent used either reel before, some input on either will be most appreciated thanks Cliff P.S. i know i can get a shimano symetere or blah blah blah for less and all that, i like abu so i dont need to know about anything other than these two reels ;D

so we ordered cable and it should be all hooked up in a couple weeks...can anyone tell me the channels that play some good fishing shows? and maybe about what time they show? i am not much of a TV guy but if i have some time i wouldnt mind watching some fishing stuff thanks Cliff
