  1. thanks guys, i am 100% positive these were bass...they were so close and moving slow...it would be hard to make that mistake
  2. i t-rig em with 3/0 or 4/0 gammy EWG
  3. so three times in a row, in the very same spot on the bank...i have seen a school of bass....nice ones too...ranging from the 2-4lb range...they were all nice looking bass...anywhere from 3-6 in the groups....they just swim along the shoreline....wont bite anything i throw at em....just cruising along...what do you supose they are doing? what would you throw in that area to get bites? cuz all the times i have seen the fish swimming along i havent caught anything....also, all three times it was hot with bright sun....we can manage to catch dinks in the area but cant seem to get these nicer sized fish to bite anything..any thoughts? Thanks Cliff
  4. this might help http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/dfwpdf/dfw_esocidsposter.pdf
  5. i would guess that if they are stored where it will not get extremely hot or cold, they should be fine
  6. i am considering getting on of these to use on some small private tanks and the golf course tanks....i am wondering what kind of critters i should be aware of while my feet are dangling in the water? is it really a worry? i know we have seen snakes, turtles and alligator gar in these waters....will any of these be something i would have to worry about attacking? i am not from texas so i dont know if it is even a good idea....but man there is one tank on the golf course that i MUST get out on somehow...the shoreline is very limited to fishable areas but i just know there is some hawgs in there...so any texas natives...is this too risky or would i be ok? thanks Cliff
  7. i tried!1 and again today...no luck...i got one dink on a trick stick and one bout 1.5 lber on manns -1...that was it Cliff

  12. had a monster break his line!! oh man it was funny(for me, he was pretty mad) so we were fishing on the golf course in a tank we didnt even know existed....i wasnt getting any bites on t-rigged powerworm...he throws out a t-rigged red shad u-tale by zoom...instantly he has a fish on...i said "is it a good one?" he says "yeah!!" so i run over to assit if i can and tell him not to horse it in...let it run...he is not the most savvy angler you ever met....anyway...the fish jumps and it is HUGE! biggest bass i have ever seen...6lbs plus from my estimation...it was long and fat....so he gets her right up to shore and SNAP!!! he takes his rod and like an Ax slams it on the ground twice...i said "dude dont break it!" he says "it didint break"....he is fuming and i am laughing....so he reties and makes a cast...the first 3 feet of his rod goes flying out into the lake with his bait....i almost wet myself it was so funny....and now he is cracking up too...and this was the one time neither of us brought more than one rod...but he did hang with me for another hour and a half and watched me fish.....so that was cool....he was using a casting rod some very old shakespere or something...and a cardinal spinning reel that i gave him....i told him to go buy a dang spinning rod now.... moral of the story...check your drag!! his was locked down as tight as it would go....i bet he never forgets to check it ever again Cliff
  13. i love this place too...just a few short months ago, i knew basically nothing about LMB fishing...and had recently moved to texas...i was searching the internet for info on local lakes and found this site....i learned a TON of stuff and am still learning...and like someone else mentioned, you get fast answers to your questions...which is great for the n00bs like me to get info from the veteran bass fisherman....i am now to the point where i can look at the weather, and other variables and choose the right presentation....now i catch at least one fish evertime out(almost ;D)...and not only is this a great place to get info on fishing...its a great place to get a good laugh, see cool pics and just talk to people....this place rocks and is the friendliest group of people i have come across Cliff

  16. i dont keep any fish now a days...when i was in MN i would keep MAYBE 1 or 2 walleye a season for myself...and a few for my neighbors if they asked for them...i dont like fish much....but who can resist a walleye!?...when i was younger i would keep bass(smallies) for my parents...along with perch, rock bass, gills....but now looking back i wish i never kept one smallie....oh well...i release everything now and always will. Cliff
