boater safety course certification
Best way to describe what im thinking about is this, when i was learning times tables (multiplication) and division when i was younger i couldnt understand it. Public school teachers are horrible near me and the education was lame and boring. So i applied myself 0% and paid 0 attention, so to keep from failing i would memorize the sheets with the answers. I was just as good as the kids who actually studied and learned it, but i didnt learn it i just memorized the answers. When it came to test time and they made me and everyone else show our work on how we got to those numbers i had no clue what to put down. And started getting bad grades once again, if you couldnt show your work it counted as a 0. And for the tests that were more complicated and had numbers i didnt memorize i had no clue what to do, think, or put down on the paper. But if i actually applied myself then, learned how to do it, i would be able to be given a problem and rely on the knowledge i learned, for how to fix it rather than just remembering the answer. Point is knowledge, memory, skill, and actual hands on learning all go together. But the best way to retain it is to be passionate about it, and to want to do it. Anything i ever had to force myself to memorize i probably couldnt tell you it now, but anything i wanted or needed to learn, and knew why i needed it i can remember and still apply.

boater safety course certification
When something goes wrong and anxiety or fear are experienced our memory or rational thinking are almost non existent. But muscle memory and repetition do kick in. Hence why the SOF military units practice the most basic things over and over again thousands of times (dry fire for an example). Doesnt matter how good you are, or how great your memory is. Add fear, worry, adrenaline, and your minds frozen in place. Although i can understand how memorizing has its place in being useful/helpful. But often times memorizing answers is forgotten, because its only the start and finish, not the whole formula. But if i looked at a math test and just memorized the answers and then was asked to show my work, or solve it with different numbers then im toast. Like if i had a surgery, and it went wrong, i would rather the doctor that knows what hes doing, versus the one who can recite pages 1-20 and panics because he cant remember page 21.

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
Most dealerships the past few months have been still charging 5k over MSRP, and refuse to negotiate. If anyone finds themselves in a place like this RUN. Often a quick google search will often show 1 or a few places within 80 miles (give or take) that can get you a deal below MSRP, and negotiate too. My dad had some nearby Chevy dealers that he had a long time relationship with, they wouldnt budge a dollar for a new truck, he found a different place an hour away and got 11k under MSRP for his truck. Took a few hours but it worked, this was right before covid tho. Supply chain and manufacturing issues during and after covid ruined the car market.... There were barely any dealers that had new vehicles and the ones that did had a great idea of charging 10-30k more just "because try finding one else where". After things started to go back to normal and things started to balance (somewhat) they didnt reduce the prices much, negotiations stopped, and it was still a "buy our price or leave" mentality they had. These guys made a fortune during this, and for some reason they still think they can charge these prices? Well its no longer a sellers market, its a buyers. These dealers have too much inventory and with high supply and low demand they are struggling alot. Most dealers are still filled with leftovers from 22, 23, and 24 year models. Majority of Americans are maxed out in credit, and the rest are struggling to make it through the week financially. So people going out to buy vehicles they dont absolutely need isnt happening like it once was. Add the amount of new cars being repossessed because people cant afford to pay anymore. Mixed with the amount of people avoiding dealerships like the plague from their recent behaviors and actions. And you now have the best time to buy in several years (if youve got the money that is). These dealers are on the verge of sinking, and the waters only getting rougher, the amount of desperation and lack of relativity they have due to once again their reputations, market adjustments, and actions during covid, mixed with their ridiculous high prices, And companies like Carvana, and the used car market by private sellers. The game is on, the deals are coming back, and so are the negotiations. I heard a commercial last night from a some what local Chevy Dealer about their new sales, 10k below MSRP Silverados, 5K under Blazers and other SUV's, and thats before negotiating and other incentives. Shop around and low ball these dealers, its just like fishing. 20 bass wont want your green pumpkin senko, the 21st might bite.

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
Its more common now then ever, ive went on hundreds of test drives spoke to alot of great people. There used to be a small amount of those types, still had quite alot of good guys in the business. But after covid it seems only the shady and manipulative type of people are working at dealerships anymore, the good guys were either forced out or quit because they didnt like what the places were turning into. You used to go to a dealership, look at the car, the salesman or woman would talk about the key points, go over the features and then do a quick test drive. If you wanted it you could either pay cash or do financing. Now its you go there, and they start doing financing the minute you get in the showroom. No looking at the car, no checking it out or taking it for a test drive, and they dont even know a single thing about the car. They assume by you walking in that you are buying, an hour later after getting frustrated that they changed the priced 5 times, added 10k in add ons and extended warranties and have you paying $1000 a month for the car, you ask i just want to see the car and im not even sure if i like it. They either kick you out, or say they will be right back and after an additional half hour of waiting you just leave. Buying used is the way to go, if you know what to look for you can get a great deal on a somewhat new vehicle. And you will be dealing with a person who needs money now, they will be willing to negotiate.

Forcing people to learn something never works, look at public school in modern years. I hated school, didnt pay attention, got bad grades most of my life, did minimal effort. Being forced to go, forced to learn, treated like a animal in a zoo instead of an actual human being. I mean most of its useless knowledge that the brain will purge in a short time after anyways, although in my last few years of high school i switched to a different school where the education was about 100 times more. Felt like i jumped to college, and then learning actually became interesting, i actually wanted to learn what was being taught. And my grades were the best ever, finished with a 3.8 GPA. I was watching a video the other day from Elon Musk about education, his words were so true. And it really spoke to me, my opinion now after hearing it is schools teach useless amounts of knowledge, most of it we will never use or even remember. And they dont tell us why we need them or how we will use them. But if you find out why you need it, and how it will benefit you in life your mind starts working, retaining, and learning the way we are supposed to. It can be easy and fun, but you have to want to do it, learning cant be forced, because it wont work. I have several different sets of skills and hobbies, bass fishing is just one of my favorites, anytime i want to do something new if i apply myself, and want to do it i can learn it within days and retain it for long periods of time. Because most people (especially in America) for some reason mistake memorizing answers for learning. These guys would just do the course, memorize all questions and answers, and learn nothing. When they get back on the water they wont remember a single thing.... Its just a legal thing like @Tennessee Boy said. If they cared about making it safer, they couldve done alot more that would actually make an impact.

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
The American and Japanese brands now think they could use subpar parts and quality and then price their cars like they are Mercedes or BMW'S. And also have you been or seen any videos with interactions with these dealers lately? No negotiating, horrible sales skills, awful people skills, and often they want you to do everything to sell you the car for them. Plus alot more sketchy tactics among other things going on then ever before. I was at a Dodge dealer yesterday looking at a 392 Challenger from 2018, the car was absolutely filthy. Its been for sale for a year so far, spider webs all over, dirt everywhere, mold too in some spots, i have never experienced such lazy salesmen before. They wanted almost the same price as MSRP when it was new in 2018! Absurd, looked at their newer car prices too, about $20-30k more than the same ones i was looking at just 4 years ago, and everythings the same.... Japanese brands also, i was looking at Toyota and Nissan performance coupes a about 4 years ago as well, they would go for around 30k new, now they are selling for 50k..... And these prices are before all the "add ons" and "market adjustments" that can add hundreds or thousands. And as soon as these Japanese cars head off the lot and are put on market place, or some other used car selling platform, they are worth about 60% of what they were paid for.... Stellantis (Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram) Ceo said he needs to find 200 million $ in the next few months, hes starting to do job and money cuts each month, hes now talking about selling the famous Chrysler building, and firing every American worker and moving to Brazil or Morocco.... The reason why? Because they have priced their Charges/Challengers, Jeeps, and Rams between 20-40 thousand dollars more than than they were priced just a few years ago. And add all these stealerships adding between 20k-100k market adjustments and made no changes to the cars. And are now refusing to lower pricing, so theyll just fire all American workers, close factories, and move elsewhere, because all their customers feel betrayed for them thinking they are worth gold and sell their products as if they are Mercedes, Bmw's, Porsche.... Now Kia and Hyundai i have mixed feelings about, they are very reasonable priced cars. Have great and long warranties (but are very strict about it) and offer alot of incentives and discounts (especially to military members current or former). Years ago when walking through a shop to look at a WRX we saw a Hyundai up on a lift, the parts used were typical of a car that cheap. Years later (now) it seems they have a much better reputation, and care more about the customers and quality than they do making a fortune like the other brands. Only reason i dont like them is the cars they offer are mostly sedans and suv's, im a performance guy that started off loving muscle cars from the late 60's.... I just cant do it. But most people i think are starting to realize their life long loyalty to certain brands are no longer worth 2-3x times the competition, especially for the way their vehicles are being recalled monthly, getting awful reviews, and not to mention is it just me or do most new vehicles look kind of odd and ugly? And then add a premium price for an inferior product. I think more people will either switch to Hyundai/Kia for new, or head to the used market for the brands they used to love. They are using their brand recognition, brand loyalty, and status of the past to try to bypass cheating their current customers.... Sorry for the long read, im a car guy and i have way to much info about them. @Dwight Hottle oh and by the way, those Palisades and newer Santa Cruz are nice, tried convincing my mom years ago to switch to the Palisade but it was too new at the time for long term reviews, might have to go check one out.

Yeah youve got a point, id probably rather dedicate funds for a hatchback towards the Ford Focus RS in Nitrous Blue. But if i ever find myself in Europe id sure try to rent one just for nostalgia!

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
My parents have been buying and fixing up salvage title vehicles and fixing them for decades, its something ive been around and looking into for awhile, some people could never do it. It is a risk but if you know what to look for, have connections to people in parts, and get them cheap enough its great. In all my years going up to salvage lots and doing research and pricing on cars these new cars with all these sensors and additional air bags cost an absolute fortune to fix, to the point where you start pricing parts its honestly absolutely insane. And the tech they have isnt even needed, its just another thing they can use to bump the price up. Any car ive ever been in with all that tech i no longer wanted to be in that car, if im going to drive a car i want to be the one driving the car, in 100% control. Plus they look ugly on the inside too. And if by some chance someone bought one of these newer cars and had some damage to it, and the insurance company said it wasnt totaled but needed work, good luck with that copay for those sensors! And welcome to America! The land where almost no one knows how to drive anymore! Seriously, in Europe learning to drive means learning to drive a manual in a rusted out car from the 80's 90's or 2000' Most Americans cant drive a manual, most cant drive without a backup camera. Instead of trying to teach people how to be better drivers, and safer drivers too, they just give them all this useless tech to bypass their skill level.... Like i said, ive looked at alot of salvage cars, the people in America driving on the roads today are scary.

trolling for kokanee with two people in a 14 foot boat safely.
Im all for bringing friends and family with you when fishing, its nice not going alone. But if i brought someone on my boat and they did that, and then didnt want to comply with my asking them nicely to do so. Id be going by myself the next time and trolling with 2 rods. Bring a board and spray paint plank on it, leave it on the side of the boat. Any issues point towards it and use your best pirate voice! (Walk the Plank for those who didnt watch Pirate movies)

Saved the life of a fish with an anchor ⚓
Reminds me of one of my first few bass on a spinnerbait, i almost had it right to the bank and it turned and jumped out of the water right next to a tree that fell into the water. The line and bass got stuck on the part of the tree that was out of the water.... It looked like it was hovering in the air, couldnt get it unstuck, it was there for a minute and i didnt have a clue what to do. I got it unstuck and it swam away. For some reason the bass think its a great idea to run towards trees with line attached to them! Its like if a cow ran towards the butcher to get away from the farmer

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
Mine is also a GMC/Chevy family. Not even just my parents, almost every relative on both sides of the family, from back to the 1950's and still to this day. Several members of my family worked on cars either at professional shops or in their own garages since they were children, (not even joking) my dad was actually rebuilding motorcycle engines on his kitchen table after he got back from school. Whole different world back then. All of them always owned Chevy vehicles, so im going to take that as they mustve made vehicles really well all those years. We love cars, (more oriented in the performance, sport/muscle cars tho) so we own and have owned alot of different vehicles and still do. So our car brands are very mixed but when it comes to trucks and suv's its all Chevy or GMC 100%. The look, feel, comfort, reliability they have was always enough for us. Plus have you seen how the Ford trucks look?

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
My dads owned Silverados one after another for the past few decades. He has the previous generation one now, and loves it. Hes a huge GM fan, well both my parents are. From their muscles cars from the later 60's to their more recent sports, trucks, and suv's. He also has alot of connections to the local dealerships and mechanics. This will be the first time he will chose to not buy a new one.... Like i said, they arent all bad. Theres still quite alot that dont have issues, its just it seems theres more and more each year. And i definetly agree with you on that part im quoting, the good ones are very nice. With the right package, look, and tires they sure are some great trucks! His gets very great gas mileage as well. Those AT4's are cool, but im more partial to the Trail Boss'es😂 Youve got a nice truck either way! I can understand how the Japanese ones might have started going down hill, (in my opinion those brands shouldve stuck to cars) but the American brands that built this country like Dodge Ford and Chevy (GM) taking the same path makes me sad.... Another good point, i love Japanese cars but the trucks? They always looked odd, lacked the power i would want. And just didnt seem to have the quality or durability that the Chevy trucks my family owned did. And for the same price i couldnt imagine paying that for them. Hopefully they get back on track soon. Id love to get a Colorado Trail Boss in the next few years, maybe by then they will start putting real engines in them (V8's).

Time to Buy a Truck… but Which One?
Very sad that this is now considered normal.... Doesnt even matter what brand anymore, all the new vehicles made during or after covid are piles of garbage waiting to be recalled or towed back to the dealership. All the main brands are making the news monthly by doing either thousands or hundred thousands of recalls. There was a article about Ford recalling cars because of fuel line issues, (that could cause engine fires) well when the dealerships were giving back the cars to the owners they did absolutely nothing to actually fix the problem! So the NHTSA is getting involved because the "repair" is inadequate and still poses safety risks. Not to mention how many of their new Broncos are catching on fire.... I guess GM is trying to be more like Ford lately, i hear they changed their name from General Motors to Garbage Motors. (and im a fan of Chevy cars and trucks and im saying that) And the Japanese brands are doing very poorly too. I honestly dont understand how these companies did this, and keep doing this to their reputation and loyal customers. And what i cant understand even more is how they are making them more expensive at the same time? Less quality, potential to catch on fire, and made poorly with cheap parts = 10k more. Now its not every vehicle, some are fine. But the amount that do have problems is enough for concern.

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
It is actually amazing to know that im not the only American that knows about Holden, whenever i talk to any GM people they never have a clue what im talking about, and i have to tell them that GM owns even more brands then they thought. Dont know how the Holdens made back then were but the newer ones were really cool looking, they have over in Australia the Commodore and over here their rebadged equivalent was the Chevy SS made from 2014-2017, (not the Camaro SS, the name they chose is confusing) it was practically an Impala with a 6.2 V8 making 415hp, and i believe they used the prior gen Corvette engine in them. The only reason i even know anything about Holden is from video games and also my Subaru Baja yet again. In Australia they have Utes, (for those who dont know they like taking cars and cutting them up and making trucks out of them). Because of my mini truck i have, once i found out Holden made the Commodore V8 Ute i was amazed! Did a bunch of research into them years ago too. Sadly GM has shut Holden down and they are no longer. R.I.P. So when Dodge was talking about bringing back the Rampage i was so happy, (it wouldve been my favorite vehicle, a Challenger but as a 2 door mini truck). I was saving up money and ready to buy one and then covid happened and they decided to scrap the plans for it.... And now Dodge (well FCA) decided to break the trust of all their long time loyal customers and stop making the TRX, all Challenger and Charger variants including the extremely famous Hellcats.... They are coming out with a inline 6 Charger but so far thats just been a disappointment to anyone in the car community.

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
Man i spend so much money on bass fishing gear, panfish/trout gear, kayak stuff, clothes, Tacobell, and car parts i cant afford this Netflix you speak of! Traveling through Europe in some amazing cars must have been quite a great experience. Ive always liked the look of those Mercedes cars, know very little about them tho. There is one though that i would absolutely love to have the A 45 AMG, makes 421hp AWD, looks amazing and sounds great, sadly not available in the US.... And for your last sentence, im my experience when it comes to imports try the used market, sometimes you can get your dream car for less than youd expect. My Baja is a mini Subaru truck, ive told my dad as a joke several times that when the engine blows again im going for either a LS swap or TDI. It would probably cause alot of headaches and cost a fortune but it'd sure be fun. The thing about those TDI's tho is that youd never expect the cars that have that engine to actually have that kind of power and torque, they are truly the definition of a "sleeper build" and thats stock. Imagine if they were modified! @Cattif you have a chance later go on google and search for Jetta TDI ute (in Australia they chop the backs off cars and turn them into small trucks) And theres people in the US that do custom work to make them too.

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
When the guy at the dealership was telling me why VW was paying customers 2 times more than their car was worth, to change something like that, then selling it back to the dealers for a small amount i couldnt believe the guy was serious. Wouldve been fantastic if i was able to get one at the price they were selling but oh well. Those TDI's last forever. Have seen several with over 300k miles on them and still going! Ive seen and heard several times about those TDI Beetles going past a Ford Mustang or Subaru Wrx's and they would try and accelerate but by the time they could those little TDI's were already to far ahead. Amazing engines those had back then.
-
Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
Those TDI's are very under rated. My only experience with them is with the Golfs and Bugs but they have a ton of torque and get ridiculously amazing mpg. The Golfs and Bugs ive been (in as a passenger) have shocked alot of people in nicer much more expensive and higher horse power cars too. A few years back when VW was recalling them for emissions issues they would sell them back to the dealers for about $4-6k with barely any mileage. I called every day of the week for about a month but sadly they were always sold out before i called.... Still would love to have a TDI Golf one day with the seats switched out for the GTI Golfs plaid seats.

Questions About Hot Weather Hoodies
If they work so well then why when i did use them i still got sunburn? Whereas i never once got even a slight burn with a sun hoodie? And still making excuses to get around the ingredients in them. Nice talking to you. Enjoy your stock in sunscreen companies, maybe one day youll be able to make some money on them! Its honestly pathetic that you are saying its "Such is the case here. As you point out, if you find Oxybenzone or Octinoxate personally objectionable" Yes im sure its a personal choice, some people just absolutely love toxic chemicals! A good rule of thumb for most people, actually all people is to avoid things that are PROVEN to be harmful. Also by the way, all these chemicals around us you keep talking about we dont directly, purposely put on our skin and face. But sunscreen you do. And isnt it easier, quicker, and more effective at the point you are even making just to use sun protective clothing? Dont have to research the chemical ingredients, no worries, no potential side effects or reactions either. Also the sunscreen wears off from sweat/water after so long, and needs to keep being applied. And like ive said about the clothing, they keep you cool and dont let your skin get burnt either. Youve just sold me on buying some more hoodies, thanks!

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
I always wanted a BMW when i was a teenager, my dad always told me they were junk. Didnt believe him, i just thought it was his bias that anything that wasnt a Chevy was bad. Now from having friends, coworkers, and other people i met that owned them i understand how right he was. Anyone i ever met that owned one either hated it and sold it, or loved it enough to bring it back to the shop monthly. That BMW joke at the end is funny. Reminds me of KTM dirtbikes (KostToMuch)

Lets Talk Cars! (Car guys)
As the title says, lets talk cars, what cars did you have when you were younger? What ones were your favorite? If you can have any now what would it be? What are you driving now? Did the wife make you sell the Mustang for an Suv? I really love cars, (not all cars) but anything performance, rare/limited edition, rally, muscle/sport, exotic, and super cars too. Theres been a few SUV's and trucks too that ive liked as well. like the TRD Tacomas and Colorado Trail Bosses, but especially the Ram TRX. From turbocharged 4 cylinders to supercharged v8's, and long as its not a v6 im happy😂. From the Japanese, to the Germans, to the American ones, whether they are rusted out 20 year Subaru's, or the newer Last Call Challengers (R.I.P.). Cars have been a part of my life since i was a very young child, my family members were always working on something in their garages, and all had some nice classic muscle cars too,. Playing alot of car video games growing up and then getting my first car and spending countless hours working on it made me appreciate and enjoy cars even more. Ive went on hundreds of test drives, talked to lots of really great people at different shops, dealerships, car shows, even social media groups too. Met alot of really, really nice and great people along the way, and its not just driving them, working on them is just as fun. Whether thats vinyl wrapping, detailing, changing the exhausts to something the neighbors hate, or working on the engines, it might be stressful sometimes, but atleast its a learning experience. My current car is a Subaru Baja 2.5 with the turbo charger and detuned STI engine, sadly its an autotragic transmission.... Id love to get one in a manual one day. I know the Subaru's arent the best when it comes to headgaskets and turbos (mine had the engine and turbo need to be replaced so far) but just having something that was only made for 3 years, and a mini truck with Subaru emblem on it sure is cool. Now im looking into getting either a 5.7 RT Dodge Challenger or a cammed SS Camaro with a 6 speed manual, ive been in so many different types of cars, and what ive learned is this. Theres no substitute for a rwd American V8 paired with a manual trans and a Borla catback. The sound, the feel, the look, wow is it amazing. Id really love a 1969/1970 Dodge Charger one day but for now one of the above will do. It honestly breaks my heart that Dodge killed the Charger/Challengers this year, and that Chevy will soon do the same with the Camaro. These were American icons, feared, loved, hated, and respected around the world, and just like that they threw them away to replace them with vehicles no one that cares about cars would ever want.... And from talking to quite alot of people, im not the only one that feels this. But back to the point, what got you guys into cars? And whats your story with them?

Budget Bang for Buck Rods and Reels (spinning and baitcaster)
I love budget gear. For reels (spinning) Shimano Sienna MSRP $30 but can be purchased for $25 on sale. Excellent spinning reel. Daiwa Revros MSRP $50-60. It goes on sale alot for either bogo or $30-40. Fantastic reel, even better than the Sienna. For reels (casting) The last gen Abu Black Max or new Max X, they go for around $25-35 dollars (only buy the new one on sale). These are very, very budget priced reels, but for the money they work. And they work well. Lews Classic Pro Speed Spool, $40-60. Nice reel but overpriced since you can often get the very good Lews LFS MSRP $100 on sale for $60-75. If just wanting something affordable go with the Abu's, if you want something that will hold up to more stress go with the LFS. For rods whether its spinning or casting i will give 1 and only 1 suggestion. The Daiwa Aird X, MSRP $55 but goes on sale sometimes between $30-45. Absolute fantastic rod, its worth $100-120 to me. I have 14-16 Aird X rods. I also have rods from Dobyns, Lews, and St Croix varying from $110-275, and ill chose the Aird X 90% of the time. I am not too kind to my gear, it gets thrown in the back of the car or truck bed, ill then carry 4-6 rods together (sometimes for miles) and then toss them (gently) on the ground onto rocks and wood. Wack them into trees, rocks, walls, ceilings, doors and have only broke 1. The top guide popped out so ill have to fix it, but it got slammed into the tail gate. Rods still 100% just the top guide got broke. The rest keep going. My favorite Aird X rod (yes i actually have 1 favorite) has brought it the biggest bass of my life, from 4-10lbs. Its dragged in over 1,000lbs of weeds, vegetation, and lily pads. Brought in hundreds of pounds of bass too. And has ripped Chatterbaits and lipless cranks out of grass thousands of times more. Thats still going strong, its just a bit more softer in action than it was when new. Tackle Warehouse, Academy, Midway, Omnia, Bait WRX. along with countless other retailers. Stay away from ordering rods from Amazon.

Questions About Hot Weather Hoodies
Its amazing how far you have to go to "be right" and argue on a bass forum. Its really sad but great job. Im not sure if you work for one of these companies or just own stock in them but alright then, or maybe you are just so obsessed with huge corporations. That have proven time and time again they will do anything to make a dollar, and have proven time and time again that they will produce hazardous products and sell them to the people, and if something happens they just use their money and people like you to make them look good. You still ignored the part about some of them containing benzene (not all but some). Benzene has been proven time and time again to cause cancer. Also oxybenzone, there was a study showing it stayed on the skin for weeks after it was applied too, so oxybenzone, and octinoxate are "sadly super common in sunscreens, are cause for concern" both are very bad to humans along with coral bleaching, Hawaii atually tried doing a sunscreen ban awhile ago too because of that. Neutrogena was recalled a few years ago and told customers to throw it away because it contained benzene.... Once again benzene causes cancer, but like usual with you im sure youll ignore that and praise these giant companies causing people to get sick because you love them so much. Its interesting that you keep arguing back and forth but dont acknowledge any of their ingredients, isnt that something. Oh and some of these products can also harm marine life, but im sure youll ignore that too. Heres some quotes im sure they will upset you since they are the opposite of you trying to preach that these chemicals are "safe" "CHICAGO (Reuters) - Scientists at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have shown that active chemicals in sunscreens can readily soak into the bloodstream, confirming the need for more testing on whether these products are safe, the researchers said on Tuesday" " “Consumers deserve better,” said Emily Spilman, a program manager for Healthy Living Science at EWG. “Many of the products we reviewed don’t offer balanced UVA and UVB protection. “And some ingredients commonly found in sunscreens have been linked to both human and environmental concerns. But they’re still widely used in hundreds of products, even though they have not been tested adequately for safety. It’s outrageous that shoppers may be slathering these potentially harmful chemicals on their skin every day without the reassurance of those safety tests,” said Spilman. The Food and Drug Administration has asked sunscreen manufacturers for more safety data about the non-mineral filters in sunscreens. It’s been more than two decades since the FDA approved a new active ingredient for use in SPF products, which leaves U.S. consumers behind in the global sunscreen innovation race. “The rest of the world is light years ahead in sunscreen innovation, leaving American consumers behind,” said Homer Swei, Ph.D., EWG’s senior vice president of Healthy Living Science. “We need 21st century FDA regulations to ensure the safety of sunscreen products. “Companies have repeatedly ignored their responsibility to provide essential safety studies to the FDA. And with the FDA constantly shifting its deadlines, the industry is stuck in regulatory limbo, leaving consumers in the dark about the risks they might be taking,” said Swei." "Neutrogena sunscreen, particularly the chemical-based varieties, often contains ingredients like oxybenzone and octinoxate. These chemicals have been found to contribute to coral bleaching and can harm marine life when they wash off swimmers or are released into the water through wastewater streams." " You can also advocate for local legislation that bans the sale and use of toxic sunscreens. For instance, in 2018, Hawaii passed the first ever statewide ban on oxybenzone and octinoxate sunscreens, soon after, island nations including Palau, Bonaire and Aruba followed suite" So to recap, these sunscreens can cause eye and skin irritation, hormone issues, marine life and coral reef issues, and also have ingredients that are proven to cause cancer. Skin cancer is horrible, but now there are better ways to to prevent it, #1 would be sun hoodies, neck gaiters, and gloves. They are affordable, easy to clean and maintain, keep you cool, and cover almost all the body. With 0 downsides, and im not 100% against sunscreen. Im just 100% against these bigger brands with loads of money that get to bypass any actual testing of their products for safety, and then using actual harmful ingredients. And they have no responsibility at all, as long as they have money the FDA and everyone else like you just support them still 100%. But heres the thing, there are smaller brands out now making sunscreens that they actually TEST. Made with safer ingredients too. This is interesting to me that after decades people are actually starting to care about their customers health and safety. I will be doing some research on these brands and so should everyone else. Might as well add this too, so all these sunscreens on the market right now containing all these horrible ingredients, lets say just for an example that a stores selling sunscreen and 90% of the ones they are selling have these chemicals in them. Or someone wants to go fishing so they just buy whatever is on the shelf at the store. Do your research people, if you want to use sunscreen use it, if you want to wear sun hoodies use them, but if you chose sunscreen make sure you know what products and ingredients to avoid. There are so many out there now that are very unsafe, find the ones that are tested and safe.
