  1. Thankful for bass fishing and thankful for this cool community where we can share our sickness among friends and similarly afflicted! Hope everyone has lots of time with loved ones and some hawgs during the holidays! 🎣🎣🎣🎣
  2. I agree that without knowing your body of water, it's very difficult to give you any advice. But I will say that in general this time of year fish are starting to migrate back into the shallow muddy water as it is the last remaining warm water on the lake/river system/reservoir as winter sets in. Once that warm water goes away and the surface temperatures bottom out, fish tend to group up offshore on deeper structure near their shallow haunts. What that structure is and what kinds of cover they're relating to and whether or not they're active is subject to change at any point in time. I really like fishing nasty rainy days and warm sunny days with a stiff breeze this time of year. When winter sets in, I like stable and sunny and no wind.
  3. Any favorites for ball bearing swivels for these baits?
  4. I've been seeing it on Facebook all over the place including a post made by his wife that he passed away yesterday, so I thought I'd start a thread in honor and memory of one of the greatest trophy hunters who ever did it! I'm sure @WRB can contribute more detailed first hand accounts of Mr. Crupi's exploits on the water but for starters, he holds two of the top 25 bass ever caught, the California state record (unbeaten since 1991) and the only bass fisherman to certify two fish over 20 lbs in one lifetime. Bass resource solutes you Mr. Crupi. Rest easy.
  5. I just removed some flutter spoons from my cart at tackle Warehouse and I guess I'm going to have to put them back in my cart now. , πŸ˜πŸ˜”πŸ˜πŸ˜”πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£
  6. @Susky River Rat I feel like I want to have fun and take having fun very seriously but I have a good time when I skunk and when I catch them and I always enjoy the time I spend with the people I take out on the water. Some people play dungeons and dragons. Some people knit. Some people collect baseball cards. Some people bass fish....I don't fish for money and have no desire to but I fish every day and I love it dearly. @kingmotorboat in my brief time being obsessed with chasing LMB, I have definitely had some deeply bizarre interactions but I have learned, expect nothing and accept everything and just keep on casting! When you feel a bite, set the hook. 😎🎣
  7. Just the pants I can hook with a jerkbait and cut it out and not make the mrs. mad πŸ˜‰ I won't be wearing em to my mom's for Thanksgiving that's for sure!
  8. Got back on the underspin super shallow water pattern today and caught a couple nice ones! Incredibly fun!
  9. @roadwarrior I think it totally depends on how big the body of water is and how clear the water is and how pressured the fish is and what the weather is like and what phase the moon is and whatever you're throwing and.....πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
  10. I fish a public pond early in the morning almost every day before the sun comes up regardless of the weather and I have been scared more than a few times by snorting bucks and it's blood curdling in pitch black darkness. 🀣🀣🀣
  11. I cannot overstate the important role that stealth has played in my personal success! Great article y'all!
  12. Found em on the big lake and caught a few this size on the flashy swimmer/largo shad. Missed two that were not small. Going back tomorrow with more lily pad focused presentations.
  13. I seem to do well with white chartreuse or white and gold or silver or both color blades all seem to work in clear water but in general I go silver. I think if you're dealing with very clear water, You're better off with a natural looking swim jig, keel weighted swimbait or an underspin! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
  14. Quick after work early evening buzzbait bass: Was paralleling a break wall when she slurped it down. It feels very fishy today so I'm about to do an early morning session. 🎣🎣🎣
  15. I like my night fishing before the sun comes up. 😎😎😎 But after the sun sets is also fun too. Like last night πŸ˜‰
  16. Well, I was on my way to the store for some dish soap and me and jr decided we might as well see if they are on a buzzbait bite. I tried. I casted. I buzzed. Nary a whiff upon my buzzer. I brought my underspin for my "low n slow" presentation for the evening since I'm trying to build confidence in it. I worked a break wall and a dock that are fairly well lit and didn't get any attention. Decided to try the shady rip rap wall and first cast slow rolling it back maybe 4 ft down from the drop off I felt the subtlest *tick* you ever felt and being that it was pitch black and I'm an optimist, I set the hook like my life depended on it and she jumped 3 ft into the air rather instantly. I used her momentum to swing her up and onto the dock and got some photos and set her adrift upon her way back to hunt bream and crayfish and such. Caught her on an Owner Flashy Swimmer with the gold Colorado and a Storm Largo Shad in the Houdini color with tail dipped in chatreuse and I did a red chin.
  17. Well I guess the underspin catches daggone giants!
  18. I caught one fish three different times and she was 9-1 the first time 8-12 the second time and 7-12 the third time. I now believe that bass fluctuate in size a lot annually! I think this is why down south you really got to get on them in the pre-spawn if you want a gutted out football fish. I think some years fish have better luck feeding themselves than other years just like we do and that accounts for the occasional late season lunker!
  19. The local police usually ask what we're catching. I think the loosely enforceable rule is in place mainly to prevent actual criminals from using the lake for illegal activity and police can use their discretion. They know my car now.
  20. The evening buzzbait madness continues. Guess they wanted black and white Buzzbaits equally.
  21. Yeah I think two classics puts you in a special category. Jordan is a cool guy and a hammer and I'm thinking he's gonna be winning some events next year and seeing him and Milliken duking it out should be satisfying.
  22. The 4.5" Storm Largo Shad and the bigger size Owner Flashy Swimmer are *chefs kiss* 🀌🏼🀌🏼🀌🏼🀌🏼
  23. Now, now folks... Slinging 5 lb small mouth bass over the side of a boat and having friends is probably worth a little forgiveness and hope πŸ€£πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜‰πŸŽ£πŸ™‚ I would proceed with caution and use the fact that you have been honest to continue that dialogue and be open in the future if toxicity rears its head. At the very least, if this person is making an effort to change, it could benefit other people in his life who suffer from his issues. I think I agree it takes something to admit wrong doing and apologize. But perhaps he is manipulating you and caution is wise. It's really hard for me to say from my frame of reference.
  24. Underspin is something I felt weird throwing being a 6'4 250 lb guy from NC that caught his first 6 lber on a spinnerbait 🀣 But I felt a lot less weird getting about 7 bites on it yesterday! It's the juice for sure. Excited to toss it throughout the cold months.
  25. My very first bass on an underspin out of the cold in the dark tonight! My 8 millionth bass this fall on the buzzbait and a nice one at that πŸ™‚πŸŽ£ Solid 45 minute trip after work on the way to the store.
