This is a different course than the one I live at. This course is interlachen country club, a few of my friends are members. There are no houses on the course. It is a really nice club. They allow fishing on sunday after 4 pm if you are a member, and you can get a golf cart just to fish. The ponds are stocked with shad and tilapia, and there are aerators in each one. The ponds are very well maintained. But of course it is golf course pond fishing and it's almost like cheating http://www.interlachenccfl.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp

Thanks for the input guys. My guess of almost 7 for the first one is because when I catch a nice fish and pick it up out of the water, I can usually tell if she has weight on her. But then again you guys are probably right. Scales break my heart sometimes

Caught a lot of pond bass today. At least 8 fish, 2 big ones. Next best kid caught 2 small fish. PLEASE GUESS THE WEIGHT OF THESE TWO *note: I'm 6'2 Here is the best one... she definately had some weight on her: Here is the second best one: Let me know what you think the weights are. I think the first one almost hit 7 and I think think the second a solid 5

This is pretty common in waters I've fished in both NY and CO. There has to be some way for prey fish to escape predation, otherwise there wouldn't be any left -and you'd have small, skinny bass. This is not uncommon in small ponds with little cover. I'm wondering if these ponds have a shallow shelf rimming them, as the primary cover, making the shoreline, as I think you describe, the key location for hunting bass, but shallow enough to exclude the bass. Another thought is that you have golden shiners in there, and some are able to grow to mature size somewhere (shelf?). These can be too large to be eaten by most bass in the pond, and are able to crank out young shiners over the course of the year. I believe GS's can spawn more than once a year in the south. Just some thoughts. That sounds good

My golf course's hazards are hot ponds with NO cover. They have a sandy bottom, and some slop. In summer the ponds are not pressured. In winter they are highly pressured because a lot of kids in this neighborhood fish in the afternoon, and some adults. BTW I already said this you should read the whole conversation. Jeeez bro :

Sounds like you're on them. Rainfall has been great this summer around Orlando, too. Lake levels on the Winter Park chain (where I usually fish now) are almost even with a lot of the docks. Some docks are even flooded. Good post. BTW bout time one of you stick marsh guys started a thread again

The baits you have heard are all great. So where you will find the most flounder is at a creek mouth on an outgoing tide. This is where I found all my luck in St. Augustine last year.

that does happen, usually to a pond that isn't managed at all, or a small natural pond. There is a natural pond near my house that has a lot of skinny fish and they are easy to catch. In a pond it seems like bass eat the bream and that is a major food source, and in the lake bass coexist with the bream and prefer shad, craws, minnows...
