My arsenal is pretty well set. I’ve got a lonely 6’ M St Croix Premier sitting in my non used corner. A buddy at work has just started bass fishing and is looking for his first baitcaster setup. Before I make him a deal on it is there something it might excel at that I’m not thinking about?

I bought another SLX MGL 70 this morning.

I went ahead and ordered another SLX MGL. I didn't realize I had a little over $60 in Amazon points. It only cost me $89.

I’ve had mine for 2 years now. I really like it and have had no problems with it at all. I’m thinking about getting another one for my Loomis 853 and moving my Fugeo to another rod. But…. I’m really thinking about going with the Curado 70 MGL instead. About $60 difference. Is it really worth the upgrade?

For mono? Whatever I have left over from spooling reels. I've been trying different lines so Sufix, Trilene, Yo-Zuri, Pline.....

I use the bright green Daiwa J8 braid on my spinning rods with a leader. I think I catch more fish than I did with straight mono.

I’ve got the SLX MGL on my Kistler LMH. For me it’s about the perfect setup for weightless/lightweight trig plastics.

I can answer this one since I manage a warehouse. With corporate UPS & FedEx accounts shipments are priced by weight, not size. When I ship ground packages our software doesn’t even require dimensions, just the weight. Obviously this doesn’t apply to freight shipments due to truck size requirements for the load.

I’ve got a couple of cheaper Okuma rods for the rare times that I trout fish. I don’t do it enough to worry about upgrading them.

I love and use mine for the same thing. Cbump, my wacky rod is a Tatula spinning 610 M/XF . It works great for that application.

I know most here will disagree with me but I’d add a MH/H spinning rod. I don’t use mine a lot, but it’s my go to for nighttime fishing. Worms, wacky worms, jigs. I’ve even used it for topwater.

I picked up a TFO Tactical Elite 736 today at Sportsman’s Warehouse today for $99. I needed a heavy rod to round up the arsenal. I’ve never owned this brand before. Got the first big trip of the year next weekend so we’ll see.

What other companies MH would you say it compares to?

I’ve got the MGL on my Kistler LMH. Primarily weightless/light plastics. I love it. How well does that reel work with heavier baits? I’m thinking about buying another one to put on my ALX Toadface.
