  1. I've used that knot with no problems for a couple of years. I think it was @BrianMDTX that posted it up here previously.
  2. Same here
  3. Thanks guys. It’s supposed to be here tomorrow. I’ll try one of my SLX MGL reels on it. If that doesn’t work I’ll get a Curado BFS. This will hopefully replace my ML spinning rod.
  4. This. I just throw mine in the bottom of the boat and throw them away when I get home.
  5. A couple of years ago you could get the Daiwa Black Gold reels for $75-80. I love these things.
  6. Would this TFO rod be considered a BFS? TAC MBR 733-1 7'3" ML 4-10 1/16-3/8 oz Fast 4 oz
  7. I’m not sure, but if there’s a problem their return policy is great.
  8. I think my only sub $100 rod is my old Berkley Series 1 spinning rod. It was a great rod in its day. For reels, the Revros LT spinner and the Fuego CT.
  9. I've done this before and it stiffened up the rod a bit too.
  10. Sounds like the MGL would be my best bet for this one then. Thanks.
  11. @FryDog62 Which TFO rod did you have? I just ordered the MBR733 ML and I’m having a hard time deciding on the reel for it. It’s down to a Curado MGL or Curado BFS.
  12. Here you go. Sign up for their emails and they’ll send a free shipping code. TFO
  13. They really are. But I’m not a fan of the T-wing.
  14. Thanks for that. I have a 2nd SLX MGL out for delivery today. I’d have no problem getting a 3rd one. I almost bought a Curado MGL instead. Maybe this time I will.
  15. Thanks to the latest sale thread I picked up a TFO Tactical 7’3” ML. 49.99 with free shipping. Guess I need a new reel now.
  16. That’s an option. I think I have an extra Fuego CT around here.
  17. Thanks to the latest sale thread I’ve got a 7 3 TFO ML on the way. I’m not sure it’s a true BFS rod, but it’ll be the lightest casting rod I have. Initially I’m leaning towards the Curado BFS. Any other recommendations?
  18. That 7’3” ML is tempting me… Edit: got a free shipping code. I guess I’ll try this BFS freak show ?
  19. Welcome fellow Oregonian. I'm guessing Tenmile/Eel is your happy place?
  20. I picked up the Tactical Elite 736MBR at Sportman's Warehouse for $99. I'm hoping to play with it this weekend. It does appear o be a solid rod, especially at half off.
  21. Even though I prefer my Shimanos I have to agree with this. I've had 2 Fuegos for a few years now and they do work great. $76 at Amazon right now. Fuego CT
  22. I'm going to try some of these on my next Tournament worm order. https://www.bodaciousbaits.com/product-page/tournament-lizard-65
  23. I've got a Fury 735C. IMO it's not sensitive enough for jigs. Good frog rod though.
  24. The Umpqua, an hour or so north is loaded with them. But we fish it out of a drift boat. I usually use my 610 M Tatula and a 7ML Avid X up there.
  25. Another Zoom user here.
