I need a good deal on a glx
Okay, thanks for the good advice guys. ç One more question for those of you that are familiar with these rods. I have a 6'6" GCX SJR. It's classified as a MH/F from 3/16-5/8 oz If I got that same rod in the GLX it's all the same but bumps to 7' and 3/16-3/4 oz. In theory they should be the same action. How do you expect the GLX to feel differently?

Tips for fishing at night
Hahaha that's so funny! I've been there myself many times just not in the night. My most memorable was in a n old school full round float tube when I was about 13 in a pond and never realized there might be beavers in the water. He got me from behind, scared the living crap out of me, and splashed water all over me. He was ticked.

Tips for fishing at night
Thanks everyone! This is great and I'll make sure and read that. What about Patty's specifically? Should I fish them like the day or is that stuff too dense for a dark night? I'll be in a small jon boat and it's a very clear Lake and it's a new moon so extra dark.

Tips for fishing at night
Hey guys, doing some night fishing for the first time tonight. I have some basic questions here. Am I correct in assuming you want as little light as possible in general? Are red and green lights a must? Do you keep the headlights on all the time while you fish or just when you're unhooking a fish? On a dark night I can imagine you would probably have to keep them on all the time. Do different at night time? Or would I fish by normal stuff? Thank you!

Spunkshad
Hey guys, I just picked up my first spunkshad and I'm really impressed. I know these things for ChatterBait trailers. Is there any other way you fish them?

Figuring out hook sizes
Is there any standardization for hook sizing? For instance, if I'm looking for a hook to fit something, and I don't have one already and I'm looking online. Is there any way to figure out the dimensions of a 3/0 vs 4/0 etc? More than once I've ordered a hook and it ended up being a lot different than I expected when I got it.

Fish or Die Warbird
Use this the other day and really really liked it. I use the 4-in as opposed to the 5.5. I was wondering though if there was a better hook option. I have a good selection of hooks but didn't really find one that I felt fit very very well. Seems like you need a ewg hook that is short but really wide gap since there's no slit in the belly and to stay in the first segment. I was just curious for any of you guys that might have ran this. What do you prefer? Anything that I have that has a deep enough Gap is too long to stay in the first segment. I feel like these would be perfect for a 1/0 ewg if they had a split belly.

Have you found EWG ball jigs to be as effective for weedless tube rigging as the stupid rig?

Just caught a 4# of it a couple days ago. I break off the weed guard and stupid rig it. I just leave the point inside the tube of it is soft like a Berkeley or gitzit. 🤙

Post spawn guarding fry
Hey everyone, l have a few questions about when bass are post spawn and the males are guarding the fry balls. Are the females primarily targeting fry to eat? Are the males eating the neighbors kids too? Do you then fish with baits to mimic fry?

Storm fronts pt 2
One quick follow-up question. Does it work both ways? I could see how if it's been nice and the bad weather starts to roll in the bite would be on. What if it's been mostly rainy, bad weather and is turning nice. Will the bite still be ideal on the front side of that while it's still bad weather?

Storm fronts pt 2
I've noticed that deer are particularly acute to coming storms. When its hunting season, I hunt the storm fronts, especially for shorter duration storms. I've found that around here they are always very active in the 2-4 hours before a storm rolls through. They'll go bed down for the storm, and be up as soon as its done. Deer eat 4-5 times a day and if the storm aligns with a time when they would normally be bedded between feeds all the better. Nothing better than an early afternoon storm- they get their mid-day feed right before it, go bed down, and pop up in the last 2 hours of daylight when the storm is done and they are hungry. I like to sneak in during the storm using the rain and wind as cover sound. You can sneak right up on their bedding areas (or at least much closer than normal) and be ready when they are up. I suspect bass have a similar relationship with weather fronts, though muted because they don't actually live in the above water area where the storm affects most. I mean, they are already wet so the rain itself doesn't bother them (deer will bed before the rain to keep a dry bed). This is exactly how l hunt too! This is what got me thinking about the bass. Thank you very much all! This was super helpful.

Storm fronts pt 2
So you guys have taught me a lot about storm fronts or the front of a weather pattern. I was thinking about it and I guess I didn't really understand this part. Say Tuesday it's raining, Wednesday at some point the weather supposed to change and get a little nicer. Thursday it's supposed to be Nice and sunny. I'm assuming the front would be Wednesday like right on the actual change. But would fishing be good right then during the change or more like before or right after the change when it's changed to whatever it was going to be? Do you guys get what I'm saying? Which day would you choose to fish?

Help me understand
Hey guys, me and my buddy have been seeing a lot of beds for a couple weeks now, but we've yet to see a single fish on or around the beds. I always just assumed once the beds were made, there would be fish around them until the males were done guarding the fry. Maybe I assume wrong? Could you guys explain to me how this works and what I should be seeing?

St Croix Victory vs LTB
Awesome thank you! Do you pick up much sensitivity?

St Croix Victory vs LTB
I guess l should mention I'm wondering about the SClV vs SCIII+ for about 100 bucks. Do you pick up much sensitivity?

St Croix Victory vs LTB
Is there much difference between the victory and the legend tournament bass series? Is it worth the upgrade do you think?
-
Sensitivity
Just curious, if you have a heavy, medium, and light action rod of the same make (blank) and action, as you get lighter, will it get more sensitive? Or is that only a factor of blank material? Or if it helps, you could say it this way. Take the St Croix victory rod line for instance. Are they all the same sensitivity regardless of power and action?

Medium light action
Hey guys, there are a fuel rod weights and actions that I'm not sure what to do with. 1. MH/MF I've been eyeballing one of these and actually in my hand. I really like it. It's a victory if that matters. I think they call it a crankbait rod. I can see it working well for that or a spinnerbait but I guess where my question is is I've been reading about people liking a more moderate jig rod. Would this be what they're talking about? It seems to me like this would be a good rod for worms to allow them to suck them in all the way without having too quick of a hook set. Seems like it would be a pretty versatile rod to me. 2. ML/F or XF just never really used them. Are they generally too light for bass fishing or do you guys like them? I've noticed a lot of shaky head rods have surprisingly light weight ratings to them. Would this be the application? Can they drive a stout worm hook?

Missing fish on Lucky Craft pointer
No beds here and highly highly doubt they're spawning.
-
Square bill question
I was just trying to figure out if you're supposed to grind a square ball on the bottom or not. Obviously you can choose to or not but I didn't know if it was intended like a crankbait.
-
Missing fish on Lucky Craft pointer
Hmm. I agree. These were kinda weird strikes. They hit pretty hard tho. I bet your right.

Missing fish on Lucky Craft pointer
Maybe that's all it is. Just thought it was so weird that it happened in the same spot with the same bait.

Missing fish on Lucky Craft pointer
I bought my first Lucky Craft pointer the other day. I thought it was awesome but it was a bigger size than I expected. I fished with it and got one hard hit but I missed the fish. I was pretty surprised but just chalked it up to being a big jerkbait with only two hooks. So I ordered the next size down which is what I originally wanted. Much smaller and the normal size you get with two hooks. Fished it and the same thing. In the first 5 minutes got a hard strike and missed the fish. I just couldn't believe it. I cannot remember the last time I missed a fish on a jerkbait. And I'm usually not fishing with these high dollar baits either. Is there something I'm missing? Do you guys usually upgrade hooks or something? What's the deal?

P5 Super Destroyer
Just curious guys how light of a bait can you throw on this thing realistically?
