Do you label your jig storage?
Roger that. I could see using a sharpie on reg Plano boxes but how do you all do it for jig boxes like the edge one or the other style where they're all in a v shaped row? Just asking because those style are so much more efficient that seemingly impossible to label.

Do you label your jig storage?
As I mentioned on my other post, I'm really getting into jigging for the first time. I'm starting to figure out what colors I like and sizes and all that stuff but there is information overload. Just curious as I am looking to find my most efficient jig storage containers. I am also wondering if you guys bother to tag or label them? So far I have the little tag they come with cut off so I can see the size, style, color, brand, etc, and I just dropped that into the little slot with the jig. It doesn't actually work all that well but that's all I got. My worry is that as I'm trying out stuff I find I really like one then lose it but I have no idea what to reorder. Is this just a waste of time? It sure would be a lot easier to not label them.

1/4 oz Jig Rod
Thank you guys. Been thinking about this more. This is more of a help me understand how this works than it is exactly which rod I suppose. I keep thinking that for a jig rod, I want a stiff backbone with a really sensitive tip. The St. Croix full contact finesse heavy extra fast is a perfect example if you're familiar with it. For some reason this feels weird to me though when trying to scale that down. My St. Croix tactical 6'8" M/XF spinning seems pretty much perfect on paper as it's rating (and lots of others) is 3/16-5/8 oz. The more I look, the more I realized this is probably as good as I'm getting as far as the ounce rating for throwing 1/4 oz jigs. Is this actually the right rod? Do I just need to set the hook a little harder?

1/4 oz Jig Rod
I'm not exactly sure what to say about the hooks. These are not finesse jigs with a little wire weed guards. They have the full nylon weed guards. My favorite and most common are the siebert dredge hooks which l think are an owner. I don't know if you would call that a light wire hook or not. But I do also have some dirty jigs with the no jack hooks and they definitely are big. I really don't think I need that big though so I might phase those out. I am fishing around cover plenty. I guess the other option that I didn't mention would be that I have two good rods for what I'm doing and I just need to set that hook harder with my spinning rod. I just don't know if there is something more optimal.

1/4 oz Jig Rod
Hey guys, spent the last 6 months learning to throw jigs. Now I'm completely hooked. I found I do really well with a quarter oz jig in my particular lakes. I have a St. Croix victory Full Contact Finesse 7'3" H/XF that I've really come to like for 3/8 and heavier jigs. On the 3/16-1/4 oz lighter stuff it works ok too but l think l can do better. I also have a Victory Tactical Spinning (jerkbaits rod) 6'8" M/XF that l have been throwing them on. Actually prefer that over the other, and although it's an extremely unpopular position for a reasons I cannot figure out, I think throwing a jig on a spinning rod is killer. However l feel like l need just a bit more backbone because l miss too many hook sets. What would you recommend for a 3/6-1/4 oz jig with trailer? I feel like if I could get a MH version of the full contact finesse it would be a no-brainer but they don't make it. Would you go Baitcaster or Spinning? This is a case of 'you don't know what you don't know' so help me figure out what optimum would be for this setup guys. I'm thinking a Loomis jig and worm rod might be what l need? Thank you!

Victory Jig Rod
Curado reel, with braid to flouro on the heavy and straight copoly 12# on the other lighter one. What is this St Croix exchange policy?

Victory Jig Rod
Thank you guys all for the help! I've been out of bassin for about 15 years and really enjoying getting back into it. Come to find out, I've always primarily been a finesse guy so jigging is very different for me. I'm not sure if I should start a new thread about this, but it seems I should just put it here. I ended up picking up a victory 74HF. Now I have the 74HF Full Contact and the 73HXF Full Contact Finesse. It seems to me if nothing else just by name. These were made to be a one two pairing for jigging. The HXF full contact finesse I'm thinking is a bit too soft in the tip for half ounce jigs. I've just missed a ton of fish. But it casts amazing and I'm super accurate. The full contact HF thought I picked up thinking I would solve the problem seems like it would be great but I'm still missing a bunch of fish and I'm not nearly as accurate with it. I have yet to land a hook set with the lighter one and have landed a few with the heavier. But the strange thing to me is when I do land them with the heavier one they have pretty good rips in the lips. So basically I'm really confused. My gut said being a stereotypical finesse fisherman I wasn't jacking them hard enough on the hook set because I either wasn't hooking them or they were coming off close to the boat. But then when I did land them with rips in their lip it seems like it's too hard. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I feel like maybe I should have gotten a MHF? Or am I doing something wrong?

Victory Jig Rod
Hey guys first post here. I recently am getting into jigs. I bought a Victory full contact finesse 7'3" HXF. It's kinda weird as it feels not the same but pretty similar to a MHM. I don't know enough about jigging to know if this is a perfect jig rod (3/8-3/4). I actually was going to get one more Victory. What's the best all around jig rod they have? And what other Victory rod would you suggest l get to compliment this one? (I was thinking the flip'n or the grunt but maybe you have a better idea?) These rods seem to have a very long soft tip that comes in really abruptly to the backbone (which is nice) but is that what l want for jigs?
