Asking permission
Congratulate yourself for asking permission. Too many do not. Respect for private property is important. As an old salesman who has sold products & services, you have a few seconds to make a good first impression. Make sure you are presentable. Be honest and tell them you will respect the property and will keep it clean and return the fish to the pond. Tell you no. Move on. The next one is a yes. Been there done that.

Kast King Reel Owners
Thinkin' about gettin' the Speed Demon for 69.99. Bad decision and I ain't in the poor house by any means. It has state of the art features that result in benefits. 40 inches IPT I'd like to try. KastKing could be the Harry's of fishing reels. Offering great reels at a true price to the consumer. I get my Harry's blades sent to me and have never looked back. To each his own.

What's The Best Baitcasting Reel For Under $100 As Of 2015?
Read in this month's In-Fisherman an article about hyper speed baitcasters and how manufacturers are meeting the demand for them -- especially from the pros. KastKing rep is proud of his Speed Demon. IPT is 40 inches at 9:3:1 for 69.99 thru Amazon. Normally, 129.98. Thinkin' about it.

Gut hooked fish on a Wacky Rig
I use Tru-turn hooks and they have greatly reduced gut hooked fish. Most are hooked in the lip or nose. If gut hooked, I'll cut off the line as close as possible and let 'em go. Get's 'em back in the water fast and those hooks will rust out or the fish has a chance to work it out. Once had a Texas Wildlife & Fisheries official tell me the most important thing is to get the fish back in the water quickly. Just because they swim off does not mean they will make it. Each to his own.

Zebco Bullet/ rod combo for wife
Own the Bass Pro Extreme Lightweight spincast reel that brings in 27 inches per handle turn at 4:6:1 pre spooled with 10lb. test. Smooth with absolutely no problems with an excellent star drag. Good for small spinnerbaits & crankbaits. Bass Pro says 12 lb. ok on it. It's the medium fishing applications. Will get the heavy later on with 12lbs pre spooled at 29 inches per handle turn. 29.99 plus tax. When you get older and have arthritis set in your hands the old spincast comes in handy every now and then and this reel is NOT a toy. Has its place.

What to do when bass are jumping and going after bugs
Rebel makes a grasshopper & bumble bee lures. I have caught bass with them. I'm down South and have witnessed LMB in ponds & small lakes jump out of the water for Dragonflies. Years ago, 10 plus, remember seeing an ad for this product using a Dragon fly. I never bought it or used it. If You Could Ask Hank Parker A Question
Tom from the Mississippi Gulf Coast -- Have used the Hank Parker Classic Spinner Baits for years. How did you & Mann's come up with the design and use the Indiana gold blades? And, always liked to use the 1/8 oz. spinner bait for small waters but no longer find it made? In fact, its presence in all sizes is not what it was years ago. Glad I stocked up on 'em yrs. ago. Still a great spinner bait.

How many setups do I need?
My 02. cents >> 6'6" medium fast for casting & spinning rods will give you versatility. Stick with MH if you fish a jungle. Can find good rods on sale all the time from many sources. Good luck.

What's your follow up after spinnerbait?
A t-rigged trick worm is hard to beat anytime.

bank fishing-what to look for?
I'm 60 plus yrs. and have done my share of bank fishing on large bodies of water. Check out where the boats are docked, marinas, if you can fish them and get good at pitching. Forget trying to find a cove to fish other than the spawn. GO, especially in the early morning, to the dam. Make sure it's safe but I can assure the LMB is at the proximity of the dam. The T-Rigged worm works very well. No silver bullet that will erase bad days but being persistent will put a smile on your face.
