Right now I have a tatula 7'4 heavy that's rated up to 2oz. A freestyle with a 3/8oz owner beast hook would be about 1.5oz like you said but a 3/4oz beast and freestyle would be right about 2oz, not ideal for that rod definitely. I wouldn't mind overloading a rods rating slightly with treble hooks and just lob cast but I'll probably pick up a rod with a higher rating for weedless and jig hook applications.

You throw the fatty on a 8/0 beast as well?

I've never owned a met of any kind, but after hearing @FishTank and others recommend the met 100 over the met 20, I just ordered a Met 100 to pair with a Loomis bladed jig rod.

The worst birds nest I’ve ever got is from snagging my net on my back cast in my kayak. It look me forever to even cut the braid off my spool. I agree it can be more trouble than it’s worth some days but treble hooks and no net is a recipe for disaster any day. A fishing with treble hooks hanging out of its mouth flopping around on your lap is never good.

Terminator walking frogs at my local tackle shop on clearance for $3.74. If I remember right @gim is a fan of these, and I think $3.74 is almost 1/3 of their msrp. I’ll see how I like them this summer!

What size owner beast would you recommend for the 6” and 7” Scottsboro? 8/0 for the 6” and 10/0 for the 7”? Am I on the right track? w would you fish a 6” Scottsboro over a freestyle magdraft?

Would it be pointless to tie braid to a 6-8ft 30lb fluoro leader, then tie the wire to the fluoro? I’ve never used this stuff but im I’m going to throw swimbaits this year and I know I’ll want some.

It’s on my wishlist but I need to cover some of the essentials now. I’m moving from a kayak where i’d only carry a couple not that expensive “do everything” rods, to a boat where I've got a way more space.

Beautiful lineup, ive been looking at lots of the rods you own. I how I can build up a collect like that. How would you feel about a 3/4iz jig on the power pitch?

I've got a couple questions about some owner hooks. How are the owner J hook and the all purpose soft bait hook different? Different diameter wire? Different shape to the bend of the hook? How do the 4x Jungle flipping hook and the standard jungle flipping hook compare? Do the standard jungles have issues with bending out from straight braid flipping? Thanks!
