  1. I’m just double checking that this is the correct one https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-Gillion-1000P-1000XH-Handle/dp/B08QZWCLQV Do you know why it’s gillon instead of zillion? It’s weird that the link I posted doesn’t show the same thing that I have. Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like on my phone. Only $200 instead of $275. I’m just making sure this is legit
  2. That river looks awesome, what fish species are in there? If I wanted to swimbait fish would it be crazy to bring an 8’0 rod? What’s something I could throw 2oz+ swimbait with that would be shorter?
  3. As of now I only bring one casting rod with me in the kayak, a 7’3 MH. It’s sometimes a little clumsy especially when frog fishing but I haven’t been having too many issues with it. I know lots of people like rods in the 6’0-6’6 range. I also saw that st croix makes their mojo yak line that’s specifically for kayaks. I’m curious what you use, and if you think it’s worth going to shorter rods.
  4. Should I put it on a braillist for jigs? I guess the combination of high speed and low line capacity isn’t great
  5. I picked up a shimano SLX 70 in very good condition for fairly cheap. The only issue is that it’s a 8.2:1 gear ratio. I wish it had been a seven speed so it’d been better for throwing small crankbaits like I was picturing. I’m not exactly what to use it for now, maybe put it on a curado 6’10 for jerkbaits? Would I wreck it if I used it for something like pitching and punching?
  6. Thanks, I can’t believe I almost spent nearly double that on tackle warehouse! do they also have good deals on shimano reels?
  7. Thank you! And non of you guys have any issues with ordering directly from Japan through Amazon?
  8. A lefty 7 speed is exactly what I need, mind sending the link?
  9. Yeah I was talking about the $100 dollar one I should have clarified I thought it would be a solid option being that it’s 50% off and a local business here in my town. The only issue is that it’s only rated to 3/4oz so I probably wouldn’t want to throw stuff like 6XDs
  10. I know two brothers is a small brand so I’m not sure if anyone here has used any of their products but if you have I’d love to hear what you thought about them. I was thinking of getting their 7’4 MH-M rod for crankbaits
  11. I remember hearing somewhere about a three step approach to fishing an area that you think looks good, first using a moving bait, then a bottom contact bait and finally something finesse. I’m curious what you guys think about something like this.
  12. I was moving pretty fast and fishing different weights and plastics but I just couldn’t get any in the boat until I finally tied on a frog In a kayak I’m somewhat limited because I don’t really have space to have a punching setup and a frog but I guess I can blame it on the kayak all I want and ignore the fact that I should have still picked up a frog a lot sooner 😂
  13. That’s kinda my issue now, a t-rig and a jig have been serious confidence baits for me and it’s hard for me to put it down even after hours of no luck or just a couple fish.
  14. I know that I’ve always had an issue with not being very open minded while bass fishing. Lately I’ve really noticed this more and I’m trying to catch myself doing this. For example yesterday i got to a lake I hadn’t fished in a while and i saw some matted grass, I immediately thought of a heavy t-rig to punch these mats. I fished one for probably about an hour with no luck. At that point I should have probably picked something else up but I was so locked into the idea of punching that I kept going and didn’t have a good day at on the water. I guess struggle because I feel like im supposed fish my gut feeling and fish techniques I have confidence in, but I’m so focused on these things that I can’t open my mind and realize that I should be doing something different. I’d love to hear you thoughts/ advice on this. Thank you
  15. I found this website with super good prices on tungsten. Have any of you used it? How was your experience?
  16. No, it’s submerged, it comes up about 6-10 feet from the surface, and I target the edges in 12-15 feet of water What weight would you go with?
  17. Do you fish spinnerbaits on that deep of water like 10-15ft?
  18. What do you like to use to find schools in deeper offshore grass? Ive heard chatterbait and crankbait (like a DT6 or DT8) but I’m not exactly sure when to use one or the other. Maybe chatterbait when you don’t know the exact depth because it’s a little more versatile and crankbait when you know the exact depth so you can tick the tops of the grass? Is there some other moving bait I should be using in this scenario?
  19. I’ve been using these three plastics as jig trailers. I’m curious what situation you guys use each plastic as a trailer. What I’ve been doing is using the menace as an all around trailer, the bug when I want a bigger profile and the craw when I want a more aggressive kick. Is that the way you guys do it?
  20. What’s your favorite colors? I’ve only got the money craw not and thinking of expanding my arsenal
  21. Yeah they seemed pretty nice and I luckily haven’t lost one yet 🤞 Do you use them as an all around jig or specifically for grass flipping?
  22. What about tungsten flipping/pitching jigs?
  23. Have any of you tried these jigs? What do you think about them? I picked up a couple but it seems crazy spending that much on a jig
