  1. Do you ever get back from a fishing trip and really not know what else you could have tried/what you did wrong that day? Im normally good at reflecting on what happened and then coming up with ideas of what I should have tried if it didn’t go great. But on the days I can’t do this it’s super frustrating not knowing what you did wrong or not feeling like there was something you could have tried. Seems like I tried everything, everywhere, every way I could but they still stumped me for the most part yesterday. I fished 1”-6” baits in 1-25ft in numerous locations but I never got on any pattern or anything I could even build off of.
  2. To be honest I rarely fish a fluke. If I do its with no swivel.
  3. Yep. If it was a jig I’d think differently but I’m not sure if he’s ever weighed an elite series fish on a fluke.
  4. Heading to a place that gets lots of tournament and guild pressure not to mention other anglers. We’ll see if this is the ticket…
  5. Seth Feider said on a VMC video that he likes this because it allows him to keep them under the surface even at fast speeds but that is a commercial so idk. Might have to rig the hook back a bit more to keep it from nose diving. They are on TW. Almost $3.70 per hook. Crazy.
  6. P.S how strong isthe wire on the Infini compared to the hybrid? From what I can see they look about the same but I’m not quite sure.
  7. Is that Infini hook almost like a g-finesse hybrid?
  8. You guys convince me to get it a shot. Some 1/4oz and 3/8oz weights and some cover shot HD 2/0 hooks got here in the mail today. I wasn’t exactly sure about hooks but I think those will work good for some 2.8-3.5in plastics?
  9. I got some for free with an Omnia order. The EWGs I got were 3/0 so I haven’t used them much (4/0 is the size I use 90% of the time) But the flipping hooks seem very nice. I’ll have to put in more time with them.
  10. When are you guys throwing a ribbon tail vs a curly tail?
  11. Now that the VMC redline hooks have been out for a couple years is anyone using them a lot? Have they turned into your default hook that you pick up over an Owner or Gami? They’re stupid expensive but it it worth it for you?
  12. 1/2oz arky jig with a rage bug is a decent way to start also. Dial your brakes back when your learning.
  13. I saw these online and they look pretty sweet. I think I’ll have to grab a pack to try out. I like that bait keeper, that will hopefully save a lot of headache. Not sure when they’ll be available on TW.
  14. Strange, I just looked again. Digitaka gives me a link to the Japanese Shimano website. On this link for the met 20 it shows the line capacity for the 23 model in big letters. It shows the 20 line capacity in a small table and says 12lb-100. Definitely where I got tripped up. Thanks for the clarification.
  15. Looking on Digitaka the 2020 Metanium MGL and the (2023 right?) Metanium 100, are the same price, same weight, same line capacity and are visually the same. They both have the MGL III spool, Micro module gearing, core solid frame, and basically share all the same technologies. Online somewhere it said that the Met 100 had an aluminum main gear but I’m not sure if this is correct. I also saw somewhere that the Met 100 has a 100 size spool, and the 2020 Met had a 70 size spool, but then why does Shimano say that thr capacity is the same? 14lb-100m for both, directly from the Japanese Shimano website. Im wondering what the difference is between these two?? Assuming the met 100 is a 2023 model, it’s an upgraded version of the 2020 model? How is it upgraded?? I love my Met 100 and I want to know thr difference before I buy another. Thanks!
  16. Compared to spinning gear how do you like the feel of bfs in general? Did it take a while to warm up to it for you?
  17. I love mine also. I think most people see them as Diawa trying to make an Expride and would rather go the Shimano route. Hard to compete with a rod that everyone has been saying fishes a couple hundred dollars above its price point for years. I spent lots of time trying to research them before I pulled the trigger and it was crazy how little info there was about them online.
  18. I'm not sure if you'd need a 8/0 jig hook. From what l've heard a 6/0 hook works well if you cut the freestyle right through the middle of the eyes. This way it also seats the jighead better. Ive heard good things about the Yum Scottsboro head, the diezel jighead, and some of the Bladerunner jigheads for rigging freestyles. They all come in 1/2oz
  19. How long was that beauty?
  20. For me it’s been mostly JDM reels. Zillion G, Zillion HD, Met 100. Maybe would never have found out about the whole JDM fishing market if it wasn’t for BR honestly. Picked up a zillion 7’2H with the recommendations of some members also. Siebert Outdoors is another one. I’ll maybe never buying arky or flipping jigs that aren’t from him.
  21. They will is take away from the already not super popular zillions… Very strange to me.
  22. Fish the moment’s YouTube videos have help me out a lot with settings and stuff but i’m still learning how to interpret what’s going on.
