  1. I like trout magic jigs for bigger gills. For smaller ones I take the smallest hook I can find, attach a tiny split shot to it, and attach a piece of soft plastic cut from another larger bait.
  2. https://www.saltstrong.com/articles/fishing-lure-left-in-a-fishs-mouth/ Here’s an interesting study done on this subject (Pike not bass but Im sure the data would be similar). Chances are she’ll be able to get it out pretty quick.
  3. Look on the bright side, now you get to order a bunch from Tackle Warehouse! And of course get a bunch of extra stuff for the free shipping too.😁
  4. I think my biggest mistake was getting anxious and switching baits too quickly. Still happens sometimes, especially at a new location when I’m trying to develop a pattern. Then, I fish too fast, lose focus, and end up getting skunked.
  5. I can help you out. Send me all your fishing tackle, and I’ll keep it very very safe for you all summer (or longer if necessary).😉
  6. This is my personal favorite tool for planning fishing trips😁 In all seriousness though, I decided to check out the app, and after going through it a little, I really like the info it has. Definitely will help me plan out my trips a little better. Wish the premium version was cheaper though.😕
  7. I've actually done something like this before. I have a small box with everything I'll need at any pond I come across. I keep it under the seat of my truck along with a collapsable spinning rod and an ultralight. It's come in handy several times.🙂 I also enjoy going fishing with one rod and only a handful of lures. Adds a bit of an extra challenge which is always fun.
  8. Honk. Can’t say I’ve had a hook straighten out on a fish before, but I can absolutely relate to replaying the memory of every fish that gets away. I’m a competitive person, so I can’t stand losing. Every time I go fishing it’s a game against the fish, and every fish I hook and lose is a game that I had and then choked away. Also if you can’t tell my second favorite hobby is sports. 🙂
  9. I fish a lot of both and might have to try that one out. Might give me an edge at a couple of the more pressured ponds I fish.
  10. I can’t catch fish on crankbaits to save my life. I don’t understand it. As for unpopular gear, I use a medium heavy spinning rod fairly often. I like it for lighter lures that still require a stiffer rod. Never heard of anyone else fishing with one though.
  11. Almost all my shirts are fishing related in some way. It’s gotten so bad that my friends applaud me when I am wearing a non fishing shirt…
  12. the Jitterbug is probably what I remember best. I heard stories about catching monsters on those things when it was too dark to see a thing. You'd just hear it go plop plop plop and then a big splash when they hit it..... or so I'm told, never worked for me.
  13. Weightless, Texas rigged, wacky rigged, or honestly any other way you can dream up. I like watermelon red flake and June bug. definitely one of my favorite baits when the bass are being picky.
  14. Howdy! I’m considering getting a new pair of polarized sunglasses, and I currently have a discount at Waterland (plus they’re already on sale for memorial weekend). Wondering if any of y’all have used them and know if they’re any good compared to Costa and other brands. Glass is a little more expensive than I’d like, so I’m probably going to buy their polycarbonate lens. Currently looking at the Slaunch and Milliken styles. Thanks!
