  1. Some reason 65% of what i buy is in green pumpkin for whatever reason. That's just an all around color for me. :-/
  2. I seem to have decent luck around ducks= a few bass However when seagulls are present i've found crappie schools to be around.
  3. I saw an ad a few months back for hiring on some boat(forgot which one it was now).I believe it was 80K for 4-5 months.
  4. I used to do marshmallows....I just liked to watch them get all swollen. Then dip em in grams crackers.15 seconds is all it takes to really get em to a good size.
  5. I don't know about you,but sometimes when i go out i go out just looking to have fun.I usually catch a few. When i go out looking to catch i skunk out. I think this happens because i slow way down when i'm just fun fishing and not looking to catch. When i'm looking to catch i run and gun too fast from spot to spot. Not sure this is even logical but maybe just get out there just to have fun and not think about catching.I'm sure this is probably gonna be the most retarded thing i've said here yet.
  6. I want my own hater club! I think i have looked at this thread atleast 10 times now just staring at the catches.Still amazes me. Fourbizz
  7. I'm only allowed to spend $20 per lure..."so says the Queen." :-[.
  8. http://www.basssnacks.com/ His trailers are the ONLY chunk trailers i use.Comparing his stuff it's as soft as a senko and gives me some great action! I won't buy any other types of trailers.Maybe give his a try...i felt the same way about those tooth looking chunks as well.
  9. Voted citica and quantum accurist. All my gear gets used in some way some how.
  10. lol...happened to me last year. 12 pound test on a jig n pig. felt a hard bump and fought.Whatever it was almost unspooled me.I'm almost 100% sure it was either a carp or dogfish(never saw it). Both are well known hard fighters in that lake. They both grow incredibly big too.I now go to a carping site here in MI. and it's not uncommon for our water to catch 20 pounders all day.Heck of a lot of fun and boy do they pull your line. I lost 4 carps last year due to them running to shoreline and wrapping around something.Smart creatures they are.I'm thinking about getting some carping gear and go after them once in awhile...only thing is i like to move around.Carp is a sit and wait game a lot of times.I still love my bass fishing more.
  11. Pour your own, all you need is: Melting pot Jighead mold Lead Hooks And if you want to make them look nicer: Tru Turn Hitchiker Trails I 'm a pretty old fart when it comes to this hobby, been doing it for over 3 decades, back then at my early stages as fisherman I fished a lot with grubs rigged on a jighead, which meant that I lost a great deal of jigheads since I fished with exposed hooks, there had to be a way to make the bait weedless but unfortunately nowhere I could find small weight jigheads with large hooks so I could T-rig the bait, the only jigheads that came with larger hooks were exactly those that I didn 't want. So one day, a couple of decades ago, looking at hooks I saw that several companies sold jighead hooks by the pack, that gave me the idea to pour the jigeads in the weights I wanted with those larger hooks. Went ahead and purchase a jighead mold, a melting pot and a bunch of 3/0 and 4/0 hooks and began to pour my own "shakeyheads". They may not be the fanciest and best looking but they work no better and no worse than those rather expensive in the long run commercially available shakey heads. The only place where I don 't try to "save" is in the hook quality, only the best and sharpest. Where do you find the lead? I can't seem to find them. :-[
  12. I'll trade ya.....You can kiss the internet time on job goodbye and if you are a big fan of a stressful workplace i can't think of a better way to stay sick and stressed out than my job.One little thing wrong and you'll be having the entire office breathing down your neck. For the job i do i have to have some breathing room to work. You'll get one break which is 20 minutes for lunch, then the rest of the time you'll be sweating grease monkey and coming home smelling like oil and hydraulic fluid. What is it? Slitter operator. Slitting 30,000-60,000 pound coils...not to mention if something goes wrong you can bet serious injuries or even death. This is the only job i've have where i seen more minor and some major injuries happen.I pray everyday to make it through work safe and back home again. All i'm saying is be grateful you have a job,Jobs are hard, hard, hard to come by right now here. for all the young kids out there...STAY IN SCHOOL!
  13. Smaller profile and denser metal.I love them when i can afford them. The biggest argument is rather you can feel what's on the bottom better than lead.
  14. ;D cute! I have to lock the spare bedroom door because of my little three year old wanting to play with the fishing stuff as well.He pretty much knows that the room is off limits without me or my girl in there. When we watch fishing shows together he goes "let's go fishing Daddy!" 8-)
  15. Maybe i missed something, but i do agree..dead fish in avatars kinda makes me go " :-X" when the person is asking how to catch bigger and more fish. I've given my share of fish away to some shore guys...doesn't bother me(sometimes).Only thing that bothers me is people don't take the time here to check and see what the limit is.It tells us right there in our little book we receive with our fishing license.
  16. I don't know they just are my favorite to catch.I'm just gonna go with marty's answer.Because that's all true pretty much. However i'm game for whatever else bites to be honest.
  17. Last i checked it cost atleast a grand to paint a entire car. That is if you decide to have it done professionally. otherwise you can do what searoach suggested. My brothers do it that way...however it's not the best looking job.
  18. After all that hating now you like big game. 15# big game is also my favorite. It's far from the best, but for the money it's decent line.
  19. I can't help but to laugh at this story.Glad you're OK though!
  20. you sly devil. you are tempting me to try that little pond at my work now....Don't know if there is actually anything in it either.
  21. Great show....i'm surprise somebody actually doesn't like it.
  22. Now that's funny...
  23. Just found out not too long ago my brother was "blazer surfing" off the top of his blazer(truck) while another guy was driving.Hit a bump they didn't see and he ended up flying about 25 feet and broke his knee in 3 places. My nickname for him now is "jedi dummy"...I'm 32 and he's older than me. ;D He's an odd one i tell ya.....
  24. I'm curious...how did you get a rod and reel pass the security?
