  1. Depends on which reel i'm using... ;D Citica i think i have 3 on 3 off.Usually stays like that Quantum accurist i have it set on 5-6 Works bests for 3/8oz...heavier the lure the lower i set the brakes. Shimano Scorpion I think i have 1 on but my magnetic is set at half or a little more.I love my scorpion because i can really switch up on my settings if i wanted to.I'd really like to pick another ones of these up by the end of winter when it comes. Only time i can freespool is 3/4 oz lures or heavier. You really gotta train that thumb.
  2. I'm gonna sound real stupid..but what is a Parabolic action rod? What is the actual action of it?
  3. Which is why i don't hate winter(well i don't like it either)...by spring time i'm roaring to get out on the lake as soon as our bass season opens.Once dec. comes around the corner i'll be visiting tackle stores with my kid. We'll play the game "should daddy get this or no?"..he usually gives me the right answer.
  4. Contact your wildlife department....pretty much all you can do.Inform them what's going on and see if they can check people out more often. They'll appreciate the tip. Plus it shows you care. Confrontations will lead to problems...trust me on that.Early this year i saw some guys using dip nest catching everything any anything and keeping everything even undersize fish.Ended almost getting into a fight over it as well. Not worth it. You can also call the cops and they can hold those people till a wildlife guy comes out there. Where there's trout here they keep a watchful eye on those waters for some reason.
  5. That's horrifying to hear! Road warrior's suggestion is why i have a dog as well.My Dog is also my door bell...since i don't hear too well he alerts me when somebody's at the door.
  6. So in another words it's pretty much about presentation/temptation to the fish to bite that lure. bass here have a thing for hotdogs....i'm not kidding they love hotdogs here. And sometimes it's not even about presentation. There is one lake where I live that contains religious bass. Sometimes they will fast for days. : well that explains the lack of bite... ;D

  8. Something about this stirs me the wrong way.... I'll stick to my CB hawg sauce....
  9. Sorry i just had to do it! Funny thing is i was just watching that on TV as i was reading this.Talk about scary! I've been online for over 5 years and talked on countless message boards.Over my experience it's easier to open up.I can bet if anything, most of us are pretty quite easy going guys/gals.
  10. i'm gonna lurk this thread as well....hope to see more advice.I don't do too well in the fall. Guess i'm gonna stick with the jigs and deeper cranks.
  11. Bassn Blvd congrats on your little fisherman.Best wishes and happiness for your family. Take care of your wife and kid.

I don't see where she's dropping the lawsuit. The captain plead her to drop it,but she won't. Ahhh..nevermind.They updated the news.

This makes me mad....i rather not say what i'm thinking right now. Because it'll surely get deleted....
  14. I perferr baitcasters now...i grew up with spinning reels. I still switch back and forth. Finesse, weightless and inline spinners go on my spinning...everything else goes for baitcasting for me.
  15. There's a few information going around on how to get them and how it's done.Del mart is one that i know of right now. It can be done...It just takes some digging and practice.
  16. Rumor has it if i pick up a mold i'm selling them dirt cheap...knock out the big guys. Ain't no plastic lure worth $20 in a small pack...sorry that's robbery.
  17. I don't like that big rocker block on the bottom of it...it's been said you can miss fish dued to pulling it out of it's mouth too early. If you look around you can find them on sale from time to time. I got them for $5 per 2 pack awhile back @ BPS.
  18. I've seen quite a few books in book stores about bass fishing....i know it's like $20 but it reveals so much stuff of how to and why.It will up your knowledge of lures, techniques and bass behaviors themselves.I wish i could remember the name of this book but i can't now.I saw it at Barnes and noble.
  19. I haven't had a problem with XT and still use it.If you still have line left after 3 years you ain't fishing enough. I go through a small spool of line every 6 months.Tie and retie often...stuff ain't the most abrasion resistance but with proper caution you won't have problems.I think this goes with all lines out there. I stay away from mono line in clearance bins...that right there tells me the line was probably sitting on the shelf too long and now they gotta get rid of it fast.
  20. "on sale" ;D I think i buy more stuff and spend more money when i find those words instead of regular price items.I'm just glad nobody puts "everything's on sale" or we'd have a big problem.
  21. I fish jigs most of the time now...ao baitcaster gets the job done better for me.However when i want to go inline spinner light i have a cheap trusty spinning reel.
  22. same here...but i've been doubling up on the slots....i need another plano box soon.If you use a jig,do not put it back in the box till it's dried up. I try not to put any lures back in the box wet...just a precaution i take.
  23. I'm saying around 5 1/2 give or take a few oz. Looks very close to brokejew's fish. That's still something to be proud of. Northern bass have smaller mouths compared to a southern bass....so just because you can't fit your fist in their mouth doesn't mean it ain't 6 pounds.I go by width and girth.I rarely take pictures anymore...but i always have a ruler handy...that gives me a close estimate of the weight. i really do need to invest in a scale...but right now my money's going to other things i rather have.
  24. I can't stop laughing...this shows how women own us.
