Braided line or flourocarbon
Using a fluro leader with braid doesnt work that well and will randomly break.

a question about spawn
the hardest hits would happen during the prespawn because the fish are fattening up for the spawn. The postpawn is typically the toughest fishing because the fish are worn out from the spawn, although you will get some hard hits from males guarding fry. Cwen, I am not sure if anybody on this site thinks that fish are uncatchable during the spawn. Some spawning fish will hit hard, depends on the fish. The males are almost always the aggressive ones but are coincidently much smaller.

Lipless Crank Baits
Agreed. X3 Yeah you gotta replace the crappy hooks that come on rattle traps, and those are a good option.

Bass Magic swimbait users...
It kinda depends, I'd say a 4/0 maybe. Just take a hook and put it next to the bait as it be inside the bait, and the hook should be exiting about a little over halfway across the bait. Of course their are other rigging options. You can buy special hooks and rig them texas style, and they have the weight on the bottom of the bait so it swims properly. I'm sure a lot of other members will have some more information than me I'm not an expert on basstrix/bass magic.

Line Lube or whatever
right, line spray doesnt erase memory it just basically makes the line easier to cast

Bass Magic swimbait users...
This is a trick i do. I take a 1/8 ounce jighead and push it through the head, ripping up the head, then when the jighead is just how i want inside the lure i seal it up by taking a lighter to the head and closing the rip. Then the finished product looks like a storm swimbait.

Jigs.....all year?
Huh? :-? I share your confusion Burley. Jigs are one of the best if not THE best bed fishing lure. It did take the largest bass ever caught, even if it was foul hooked.

Berkley Iron silk on sale
I got a spool of 14 lb iron silk in the mail for renewing my bassmaster membership. I didnt even ask for one just sent in the money and registration form and they sent me the spool with my February mag. Is it even worth using for one or two days and then scrapping, I dont want to waste it and just throw it away but i dont want to use horrible line. Should I use it?
