  4. 1. 7' heavy/graphite: for flippen, heavy cover, and swimbaits 2 and 3. 7' med. with a fast tip but a lot of backbone graphite: for drop shotting and a lot of other finesse presentations. 4. 7' fast fiberglass: Cranks, jerkbaits, topwaters or any technique where i need a delayed hookset. 5. 6'6" med graphite: good all around rod
  5. looks like i need to get some
  6. The guys that I go on fishing trips with are all big fish obsessed. When they come back to camp and I ask them how they did they either just sigh and say, " not great, nothing of any real size". But they may have caught 30 or 40 between them. But when they catche only a few fish including a real hog they say, "we did great." And proceed to tell me the story of the whole day. I am not like that, if I can catch a mess of bass and really have them figured out then im happier than just catching one big hog all day that may have been luck. Of course I also enjoy learning a new technique. What do you find most enjoyable?
  7. Can fish attractant freeze??
  8. Ive never caught a bass under 5 pounds so I dont know what to call short fish. I just simply call them small ones.
  9. Peta is such a joke If a peta member ever did that to me while I was fishing that member would be swimmin with the "robo" fishes
  10. nice fish man. Congrats
  11. Way to go five pound! That other carp jeez. How does that guy even hold that thing!

  14. Fluorocarbon DOES stretch. No line has zero stretch. Braid has very little stretch. Fluorocarbon has a lot more stretch than most people think. The amount of stretch tends to vary between different brands of fluorocarbon. In fact, some brands of fluorocarbon have more stretch than certain brands of monofilament. Use fluorocarbon with sinking baits. Use them in muddy water too not because of its low visibility but because of its abrasion resistence.
  15. exactly, its all situational for me.
  16. I have been doing this for a couple of years now. I typically use a spider grub on a jighead. Their are a couple of things you need to know about this. 1. The jig will hang up a suprising amount of the time. 2. Be carefull because a jig can sometimes dissuade some really finicky fish away from the suspended lure for some reason i dont know why. 2. most of my fish from the bottom of this rig came when i hit a school. When the other aggressive fish come to steal the lure out of the hooked fishes mouth, they have the jig.
  17. I dont know of any other but you can put scent all over a cotton swab and stuff it into hollow lures like tubebaits.
  18. Really? wow i didnt know that. It must be killer for bedding bass.
  19. I agree, you can never be too precautious. One introduced species can be detrimental to a lake and that would be a shame, especially to a great lake like Casitas
  20. I really only throw cranks that are too small to throw baitcasters. Otherwise i just stick to baitcasters.
  21. medium fast fiberglass rod 7 foot
  22. Your gonna catch a big ol pig on one of them
