Matzuo Lures
bought 3 topwater sammy imitations. Absolute garbage. all of them rolled onto their side and would never walk right. To bad because they look pretty good inside the box.

Yellow Perch bait
i catch them all of the time on bandit cranks. bright colors seem to work best

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
You can get them at wal-mart sometimes, i've gotten a couple there. I know dick's doesn't have them (at least not in Concord). I've had luck with both the heddon and the rapela version for topwater this year. Got out to Turtle lake for about an hour around 1am Sunday night. I managed 3 nice bass. 1 and 1/2 pounds or larger. The were either caught on black spinner baits w/ colorodo blade, or a horny toad. The largest one i caught litterally next to my foot. I was standing at the edge of the boat ramp, and just as i was pulling the frog up next to my foot a bass slammed it. Unfortunately he shredded that frog and it was the only one that i had. A pretty good night considering i only went for an hour

Swimming Senkos
Used them for the first time, in watermelon and red fleck. pegged weight and fished in a pretty slow presentation. I was pulling it through lilly pads, and a got a couple of good fish. Not a replacement for a Senko, but if it stays consitent for me i'll probably keep one of my rods rigged with one of these

gamakatsu new skip gap hook
i bought them because i thought they might be good for the fat ikas. They just don't work for me. I keep missing hooksets with these hooks. I don't think they let the bait push down out of the way enough. I'd recommend sticking with the regular wide gaps

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
i often have sundays free, though not for this week. I'm over in concord but location isn't all that important. I often fish over in goffstown and weare as well

How do I repair a 8-ft. plastic boat????
don't know if this will help, but this guy fixes kayaks with duct-tape and he says that it will hold up for a long time if done right. http://oregonkayaking.net/how_to/boat_repair.html good luck

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
forget my last post. Got everything worked out on my boat. The offer is always open for anyone on this forum to meet up for some good times (i'm talking about fishing, don't any of you guys get any funny ideas). Went out on the piscatquog the last couple of days, the bite was slow but did manage to catch a couple of keepers here and there. Having the hardest time fishing the fat ika. I get bite after bite but can't seem to get a good hook-up. The thing is just so thick and fat that when i texpose it, i can't seem to get the hook to dig in there. How's everyone else been doing this last week??

Spinnerbait Nay-sayers
you know up until this year i've never caught anything on spinnerbaits. But I've started doing alot of night fishing and they've been doing great at night. And since i've started catching fish at night, i've been able to build my confidence and fish with them during the day. 2 of my 3 largest bass this year have now been caught on spinnerbaits. This is something that i never thought would have happened. Just goes to show that how much difference confidence can make.

my first real boat
Thanks for the positive message hydrilla. Seems that it was the valve on the gas tank. Took the boat out this morning before work, and didn't even allow myself to bring a fishing rod. I took my time to make sure everything was all set and played around with different trim settings, and having the valve open and closed, and a couple of other things to see if i could fix the problem. It definietly looks like the gas valve was it. After letting the engine warm up for a minute i was able to cruise around the lake no problem, and never had a problem with loss of speed. Thanks for everyones help.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Need help with my new boat. Just got my first real boat, and i'm having some trouble figuring out the motor. You can check out my post under the boating section..."my first real boat"...anyways, need someone in my area to take a ride with me, who knows a little about boats, and help me figure out if this is a motor problem or an operator problem. If anyone is willing to do this i'd really appreciate it. The basic problem is that i'm getting inconsitant speed, i'm either topping out at 8 mph or 23mph, and i think it might be something that i'm doing wrong either in set up or something else, since the motor seems to be, and sounds like it's running fine. Thanks

my first real boat
yeah, i haven't done any tinkering yet. I think i will have to bring it back to the dealer. but i had him do a check over on the engine before i bought it, and everything seemed fine.

my first real boat
it always goes somewhere. It just doesn't get up to full speed sometimes. I think it's not revving all the way up. so it has to be an air/throttle/fuel/ignition problem. What drives me nuts is that it's not consitant. The only thing i can think of is the vaccumn thing. cause the first time i noticed it, i hadn't pumped up the primer bubble thing, and it went slower. and then the other time that I had trouble i noticed later that i forgot to open the gas tank valve. Hoping that this is the problem. This is my first boat, so i've never really had any experience with outboards. Thanks for everyones opinions and help. What i've got to do is have someone who knows boats go for a ride with me, and teach me to use it. but i don't really know anyone in my area.

my first real boat
that is what i'm talking about. but if i leave it closed while driving the motor will it stop sucking gas into the motor because there is not air coming in. If that makes any sense? or is there something else i'm doing wrong that could be making the speed change so much. I've tried playing with the trim as well in case that is the problem, but that doesn't seem to be it. Whatever it is, it's driving me nuts. i go out one day and i'm doing 23mph, turn off the motor, troll around and fish, and on the way back i'm only doing 8mph. Or it could be vise versa, starts at 8mph, and then next time it's up to 23. doesn't make any sense to me, What could be causing this?? thanks for any help

my first real boat
starts up just fine, and idle's fine. Nothing appears to be wrong to me. Sounds good, runs smooth, but just seems to have a difference in speed. Sometimes it takes off, and sometimes it just chuggs along at 8mph, even with full throttle

my first real boat
Got my first real boat. Nothing huge but great for my needs on ponds and small lakes. The only problem i'm having is with consitant speed on the motor. The dealer checked it all out and everything like compression and stuff is fine, I think it might be operator error. Sometimes when I take it out it will do upwards of 23 mph, but other times i can only get it to do 8mph. I think that it might be because of something to do with the gasline/tank. If i forget to open little nob on the gas tank to let air in, could this restrict flow and cause the motor to not get enough gas to go consitantly fast? anyways, any help would be great, and here are a couple of pics.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
that's funny baboosic, because it's exactly the opposite for me. The morning bite has been mostly dead, but in the afternoon i've been killing them. Mostly with soft plastics and jigs

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
man, what a day. I already posted the first fishing adventure of the day, over 20 bass in an hour. And then I took out my new boat for a test run at turee Pond in Concord I caught a 5 pounder. I've never caught anything even remotely nice at that place before. Not a bad day at all. Hope everyone else is having as much luck as I am. Tight lines -Chuck

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Went out to a private pond in Merrimack today really just to take a walk with my wife and kid. But since I was near water I brought a rod and a bag of senko's just in case. I ended up catching 22 bass in 50 minutes of fishing. It was crazy. Nothing big at all, but every cast or at worst every other cast caught me a fish. The only thing that kept me from catching more was the time it took me to re-rig the senko after it slid up the line. I've never been to a place where no matter where you throw a lure it caught a fish...very strange.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
i'd be in for a get together as well. Haven't been able to go fishing much. Been to busy study for my series #7 and #63 financial representative licenses. But have gone out to turtle pond in concord a couple of times at night and have done well with black colorodo spinnerbaits. Also i just bought my first real boat. A Tracker grizzly with a 25hp, with a custom built interior, including a console, gps fishfinder, trolling motor and casting deck. It's only a 14 footer but it's great for my needs. Tight lines everyone. -Chuck

Night Fishing Challenge Tomorrow, July 14
had a 7pm-7am tourney, and the lunar tables didn't seem to help out much. I got skunked, a bunch of little dinks, but couldn't for the life of me catch a minimum lenght fish. And it wasn't just me, most of the members in my fishing club had it rough. Oh well, there's always next time
