Just wanted to say hi to everyone, and tell ya'll how excited i'm to be a part of this fourm. I have been a lurker on here for a little over a year, and have learned so much. You guys have put together one terrific sight. I sincerely regret not becoming a member sooner b/c I feel like I know all of you and have learned a lot from so many on here. Anyways, figured I better get signed up now so I can make the Fork trip next year.
I'm a non-boater who has been seriously addicted to bass fishing for the last year. I go every chance I get. At least twice a week and usually more. I have a pond to fish in my neighborhood. My PB so far is 6 1/2 lbs. Not from the neighborhood pond though. Just wanted ya'll to have a little background information.
On a lighter note I have a friend that lives in corpus. A year ago when my wife and I built our house in the new neighborhood I decided to go fishing with the spinning reel I had won from a Ducks Unlimited banquet. I had to call my friend to ask him how to tie line on the spinng reel. I had never used one as a kid just the old cane poles and Zebco 33's. He came and visited last month and I took him fishing all over. He thought it was hilarious that a little over a year ago I was calling him on how to tie line to the spinning reel and now I was talking about rising pressure, why certain baits work, color selection and anything else I had learned on here. He was very glad I had met you guys and not a crack addict.
Anyways thanks for everything so far and I promise future posts will be shorter.
Matt
