Welcome.. You'll be glad you found this place if you can't get enough of reading up about fishing.
  2. RW...You like ikas, senkos, and El Gordo tubes. I never knew. What a shocker :. J/K of course i'm sure once i've been around as long as you mine will be just as predictable as well. BTW i've completly eliminated the saying does a bear s@%t in the woods from my vocabulary and replaced it with does Roadwarrior like GYCB ;D ;D.
  3. Very cool video and for sure a huge fish. IMO, it is absolutley impossible to tell if it was or wasn't a WR. If there was a gun to my head and I had to guess i'd say no.
  4. RoLo... thank you very much for the suggestions ;D. I have actually thrown plastic frogs(zoom and ribbit). I like to throw them when fishing exremly shallow(newly flooded grass)or heavy grass when it is neccessary to fish on top of the mats, then in open water and then on top of mats again. I've tried the above mentioned frogs in open areas where a buzzbait could of easily been fished and have found for me that they simply don't produce like a buzzbait. Anyways, I have a couple of questions for you. 1) Is there anything different or better about the frog you recommended that might improve my results? 2) What is so unmouthable about a buzzbait? I fish the med. length one made by Booyah so the fish is basically biting/mouthing a spinner bait without the blades. Thanks Again Matt
  5. You got me. I was pumped when I saw the subject line. That little fish has pretty colors though.
  6. Shut up......that is a bloody big bass. Very stressful to watch.
  7. If the baitmonkey would just go away I have no doubt that I could fish the rest of my life with just some trick-sticks, beavers, bushbug(brushhogs) and spinner baits.
  8. If your catching fish don't worry about it. To each his own.
  9. Muddy.....to bad on the other forum, but at least you still have BassResource. I have to say i've been very disappointed I waited so long to join. Were lucky here in Texas we have Texas Fishing Forum I can use for more local info.(lake reports and such). However it is not nearly as informative as this site. Actually this forum is the only great bass fishing forum i've found. Texas Fishing Forum is pretty good and everything else i've found is worthless or just above. Great job to the Bass Resource guys.
  10. CJ......I was referring to the coloring. I couldn't tell from your post if you were saying once they show themselves their dead or change colors(defense mechanism). The one in the post identifying the MO copperheads looks much lighter, not copper colored at all like my picture of the copperheads we have in Texas.
  11. I'm really shocked buzzbaits didn't get more resopnses.
  12. GottaLoveIt....yes that copperhead is dead, found him that way in the bushes looking for a golfball. Probably would of done the same thing though since I would of been 100% sure the snake was posinous.
  13. I hope we get some of this in August(minus the flooding of course).
  14. Were fine here in Weatherford. Haven't even had much rain today. Parts of my hometown of Brock/Dennis just down the road have had to be evacuated though b/c Possum Kingdom lake opened 3 flood gates with the possibility of a 4th to come so the brazos is way out of its banks.
  15. Go 'Horns
  16. I once went out caught a 6,7 and an 8 once and didn't take a picture. I hate waking up in the middle of a dream ;D. Great job.
  17. Nice fish. That is one sweet looking place 8-).
  18. RW, If I understand you correctly I need to set my drag at 3.75lbs since I fish mostly 15lb P-line CXX? Thanks, Matt
  19. FYI for everyone. I recently had a friend who had a tripped planned to Italy. When he accessed the website to track the progress of his and his wifes passport it showed no record. No record when he called to check on it either. After finally getting the run around enough times from the automated answering service at the passport office he called our congress woman. They said they would gladly take care of it and he had both passports less than a week later.
  20. I can't believe how much different ya'lls copperheads look than ours here in Texas. Heres what ours look like
  21. That looks like a pretty cool day.
  22. I would of peed my pants getting that much new stuff.
