  1. On a radio station here I heard that right before she went in the Sherriff office asked if she could do house arrest and the judge denied it. When she actually showed up and presumably got sick : the sherriff office let her go without consulting the judge. A lawyer called in and said that was illegal. Probably why shes going back to court.
  2. I didn't get involved in this earlier b/c I had a couple of problems with it, but everyone has made really good points so i'll try. I'll start by saying I didn't really buy the story, and it still sounds very fishy to me. I have no way of proving this so I apologize to the original poster if i'm incorrect. But...... 1)What landowner in his right mind would give permission to take that many fish, and if he did why would he allow some of those quality fish to be taken. 2)Why if you print any outdoor magazine would you not know the rules. Or for sure you would know that assuming can be very expensive and call the number provided in the book YOU said you looked through to make sure it was OK. 3)If you are lazy and didn't want to call, but you produced an outdoor magazine how do you not know someone who would of known 4)If your story is entirely true I can't believe the game warden showing up at your house. I can think of a million ways you could get out of it. 4 of 5 people went fishing for the party these were the guys that wanted to be in the picture. Fish were caught over several days and the ones laying on the ground are frozen. If all they saw was a picture with two names I don't see how they have enough evidence if they didn't catch you in possession of the fish at once. However, having said this if the landowner granted this folks permission to take whatever they wanted I see absolutely no problem with it. I don't agree with it at all, and believe it was a foolish decision. However for all I know the pond is over populated, but by the looks of a couple of fish in the picture I doubt it, but the fish in my avatar came out of a pond me and my fishing buddy always catch at least 10 an hour out of. We've caught one 8, 2 sixes, and one 4 out of this pond and COUNTLESS fish under one and a half. I pretty sure we have never caught anything between 1.5-4.5. So I think it has to be over populated but there is monster fish in there. Finally, regardless of the stories truthfullness I do think we missed an opportunity to convert someone here. When I first got into bass fishing I thought my friend was crazy for saying he would throw back a ten pounder. I had no idea of the possibilty of a replica. Thank God I didn't catch s lunker before I came around on this.
  3. Tipp, I agree with Muddy. Its like Bill Parcells father once told him " Parcells your always there but its never you". Futhermore, your friend is not being a very good friend to you. She is using YOU, my friend. She knows you have a big heart and still calls you with her problems, so that you will worry about her, and she has absolutley no intention of doing anything about the problem. Try saying something like this. "Friend I know you are going through a difficult time in your life and that really upsets me. However, the only way to fix this situation is to leave your boyfriend no matter how much it will hurt right now. Your boyfriend will never see the errors in his current actions unless he has some serious current consequences for his actions. Unfortunately I will no longer be able to talk to you about this issue b/c it greatly upsets me and is disturbing family, personal and work relationships."
  4. I'm sorry I have lost track of this story. Did she actually spend sometime in jail. If so this is further than I thought it would ever go.

I wish you would let us help to. Its not a hand out. When I first got into fishing the bait monkey moved in with me for like six months. I have stuff just sitting in my spare box or garage that has never been used and is like a year in a half old. I don't know if its anything you would want, but if you had the same thing stolen I would rather give it to you than it just sit in the garage. I'm WAY to lazy to open an e-bay account, sale everything I don't use for like 25% original value and then mail it off to whoever bought it in a timely fashion. Let us help.
  6. I guess I didn't explain myself very well. I was doubting the guy. I was just wondering what everyone's best year(as far as PB's concerned)on here was. ls1jay, in the exact situation I was talking about you would of only broken your PB once that day b/c after you caught the 11lber that would of been your new PB so the 9lber would not of qualified. Still very nice fish and must of been a fun day though.
  7. RW, Who makes a knockoff of that particular bait you were using? I'll try it then we can argue back and forth which one works better. Sorry...........couldn't resist.
  8. I was talking to a guy the other day who had just broken his personal best twice in one day on Lake Fork. This got me wondering the most anyone on here had ever broken there PB in one year. Not counting their first year, obviosly.
  9. I'm not a tournament fisherman, but I would think if they were both legally hooked it would be two fish. However, the big one would be so po'ed you would only have one fish by weigh in anyways ;D ;D.
  10. I agree with RW if that HAWG looks small in that pic I want to see the other ones like right now. Thats probably the best TRUE fishing story i've ever heard.
  11. yeah, don't change it. I love Rober Earl, but you need to add the part about the toaster. Nice fish.
  12. I wish buckeyeassasin was still a member. This is exactly why you always should have a camera. That way when you tell a story that sounds like complete BS you can prove it. Great fish man. I can't believe you were able to get that thing in.
  13. I'll go with 5lbs too, but it may be a little smaller in certain areas.
  14. I own a Citica and a Revo S and actually prefer the Revo by quite a bit. However, that is saying more about the Revo and is not a knock on the Citica. Really couldn't believe it myself. I like my Citica too so as many have already said it is really personal preference.
  15. LOL.........settle down Boro. I meant to say battery. He has a motor already. The above mentioned lazy arse has been my best friend forever. We went to school K-12 together. I have offered to by the battery in fact. I'm just busting his chops a little, we have an anchor.
  16. 95% of my fishing is from the shore or in my partners little 2 man boat. In the little boat we paddle b/c he can't get off his arse and go by a trolling motor :. Anyways on the rare opportunity that I do get to go out on a big boat I have trouble fishing soft plastics. It seems like I get behind. I cast out and by the time I hop the bait a time or two it seems I no longer have slack in my line from the boat continously moving. Which obviously makes it impossible to tell if the lines moving or the boat is pulling it, besides the fact that i'm no longer fishing my soft plastic properly. Is there a trick to being able to fish soft plastic correctly from a boat.
  17. Spinnerbaits/Strike King Buzzbaits/Booyah(the long one) Cranks/Rapala Lipless/Kinami and Stike King Plastics/YUM, Lake Fork Tackle and Strike King Swimbaits/Storm Walk the dog baits/Heddon(sway backs) Frogs/Zoom
  18. WELCOME!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
  19. In ponds you should really concentrate on the banks(10-15ft out and back in). The good thing about small ponds is that if there is bass there they will eat almost anything. Good choices for consistently catching bass are senko's, or knockoff's such as zero's, tiki sticks and dingers. Spinnerbaits are also a really good pond bait. Depending on the size of the pond's your fishing bass seem to learn really quick in them. So don't be suprised if you kill them on a particular creature bait, or something, for a week or two and then it seems to become very hard to catch them on that bait all of a sudden.
  20. After your last two post I think i'm going to start wearing some pink when i'm fishing. Nice fish.
  21. Awesome fish, Peacocks are so cool looking.
  22. My in laws gave me a new baitcaster combo for my birthday ;D. I don't know anything about it , but i'm pretty sure it isn't as nice as what I have now. However, I just don't it to be laying around the garage. Since i've been visiting this site I haven't learned as much about setups as I should of, just the basics. I'll tell you guys what I have and what I use them for and maybe ya'll can tell me what a good application for this combo would be. Currently have: Shimano Citica 6.2:1 ratio/6'6" MH BPS Extreme rod used for all weighted soft plastics Abu Garcia Revo S 6.4:1/7' MH BPS Bionic Blade rod used for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs, swimming a jig. I really like this combo so i'll use it a lot. Shimano Cruxis (don't remember the ratio on this one)6:1(i think)/6'6" M BPS Bionic Blade rod Used for unweighted soft plastics, crankbaits and walk the dog type topwaters Recieved from in laws: Pinnacle PLS100 6.3:1/SW balance combo JM6 Graphite rod(this is exactly what the rod says on it)I have no idea what it means. It is rated for 1/4 to 5/8 oz lures Any ideas on what this rod would be good for would be appreciated. Also, if i'm using something wrong out of what I currently have please tell me. All 3 of what I currently have are strung w/ 15lb P-Line CXX
  23. 583.00 at Bass Pro. New sunglasses, 3 combos, P-line for the combos and some assorted tackle.
  24. If you didn't break that 2nd fishes jaw you were very lucky. As far as the weght estimate. I recently caught one that went 6-12 and it was 24" as well, but I didn't measure the girth. That would of been pretty cool to catch those fish that close together.
  25. Very nice smallmouth, man.
